WAS IT KING JAMES OR "QUEEN" JAMES?

WAS IT KING JAMES OR "QUEEN" JAMES?
It is very amusing to know that all the fundamentalist protestants who go around quoting from the King James Bible to condemn gay people do not realise that King James was as gay as Christmas!
When King James succeed Queen Elizabeth the great English explor Sir Walet Raleigh was heard to say:
Walter Raleigh

"King Elizabeth has been succeeded by Queen James" :-)

At the age of 13 James fell madly in love with his male cousin ESME STUART and made him Duke of Lennox.
Esme Stuart

James had also told his courtiers: "I LOVE THE EARL OF BUCKINGHAM MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE AND MORE THAN YOU WHO ARE HERE ASSEMBLED".
King James as a "boy"

All the courtiers were very jealous of Esme's influence with the King and eventually insisted on the King sending Esme back to France.

Later James fell in love with a young Scotsman called Robert Carr. Thomas Howard - Earl of Suffolk said in a 1611 letter: "The King leans on Carr's arms, pinches his cheeks and smoothes his ruffled garment".
Robert Carr
When older James favourite was George Villers whom he called: "SWEET CHILD AND WIFE".
George Villiers
King James nickname for George was "Steenie" after Saint Stephen who had the face of an angel.

James made Villiers a GENTLEMAN OF THE BED CHAMBER.

So the next time you come across some ignorant Protestant fundamentalist using the King James Bible to comdemn homosexuality remind them about James and his male lovers and tell them they are actually reading THE QUEEN JAMES BIBLE !

  1. Silly strange question but can gender assignation be used in relation to the Word of God? Sean

  2. We are not talking about God but the man who commissioned a Bible translation :-)

    1. How is it childish to point out that fundamentalists use a biblical translation commissioned by a gay man to condemn homosexuality?

I think it a very valid point?

    3. It is absolutely correct to ask why fundamentalist "Christians" use a Bible bearing the name of a gay British king to condemn homosexuality.

The sad think of course is that these people are so ignorant and brainwashed that they cannot and will not see the contradiction.

  5. The charge against King James of being gay is not true and is a charge made up by the Roman Church and the Jesuits.

  7. Why don't the gay priests from Down and Connor and the Protestant ministers from N Ireland - who go to the gay saunas in Belfast and Dublin not have an ecumenical service there. The opening hymn could be CUM BY YA

  8. Gerry,

It is very unfair of you to leave out the gay priests of Derry, Clogher, Armagh and Dromore.

  9. Most priests - whether "straight" or "gay" are not sexually active. To say otherwise is a lie and a slur on good priests.

  10. Gerry Ardglass,

Where did you buy your blinkers ? San Fran ?

I have had a sexual relationship with a D & C priest who offered to leave the priesthood for me. I do not need him to do that although being in hiding is not good for him mentally and emotionally.

  11. I am cooking dinner in the kitchen. My only child - the child of a Down and Connor priest is watching TV in the living room. Everybody in his parish and further afield thinks this priest is wonderful. I have not exposed him so far to shield myself and my child. Bishop Pat knows me a long time. Some day I will be free.
