FATHER DALLAT - SUNDAY LIFE - 22.3.2015

FATHER DALLAT - SUNDAY LIFE

THE SUNDAY LIFE STORY IN TOMORROW'S PAPER SHOULD NEVER HAVE APPEARED.

IT APPEARED AFTER "LINDA" WAS SENT BY ME TO BISHOP NOEL TREANOR SO THAT THE MATTER COULD BE HANDLED IN HOUSE AND IN CONFIDENCE.

AT FIRST BISHOP TREANOR TOLD LINDA HE BELIEVED HER BUT AFTER TALKING TO FATHER DALLAT THE BISHOP INSULTED THE WOMAN BY SAYING SHE SHOULD SEE A PSYCHIATRIST!

THE WOMAN LOST FAITH IN BISHOP TREANOR

HE HAD OVER 2 WEEKS TO SORT OUT THIS PROBLEM AND FAILED.

INSTEAD FATHER DALLAT AND THE BISHOP HAVE GONE INTO HIDING AND ARE ISSUING MEANINGLESS STATEMENTS THROUGH THEIR PRESS OFFICE.

LINDA HAS GONE PUBLIC TO:

1. GET CLOSURE AFTER HER EXPLOITATION, ABUSE AND MISCARRIAGE.

2. TO SAVE OTHER WOMEN GETTING INTO THE SAME SITUATION.

3. TO CHALLENGE BISHOP TREANOR AND THE DIOCESE ABOUT THE PRESENCE OF OTHER "PREDATOR PRIESTS" IN MINISTRY.

    1. Linda does not feel scorned. Any expert in the field will tell you that she was exploited by a "professional" in the course of his duties. No doctor or social worker would survive such a breach.

Of course we must feel for Fr Dallats family.

But Fr Dallat had no such concern when he celebrated Lindas mothers funeral - the funeral of a woman who would not take Communion from him in her last days.

I sometimes wonder if there is a direct correlation between intellectual capacity and such meanness of spirit. If there is, then I suppose such individuals can't be held fully responsible for their negativity.

For one this woman has created her own outcome given that she willfully and knowingly entered into a relationship with a priest. Also, she wants the Bishop (and I don't mean you Pat), to reimburse her 20K - that money does not belong to the Bishop, it doesn't belong to "Linda" and it doesn't belong to Fr Ciaran - that money belongs to our Parish! 2- Fr Dallat needs to remember that he is a priest and also the vows that he took. If he can not stand by them then he needs to exit!
3- This is a wake up call for Priests. They need to remember what type of life they signed up to. Some ask you to drop the "Fr" when you are addressing them, some have "close friends" which as a result can leave them in a very vulnerable position, All in all this is yet another shake up that makes it very difficult to be a young practicing Catholic and to hold your head up high.

  43. Well said. The bottom line is that priests are ordinary people. They should be allowed to marry/be gay etc, Christ loves us for who we are. But the child molesters, well they should have been handed over to the law of the land, stripped off their priesthood, named, shamed and put in jail. Shame on the people of authority in the Catholic Church for shielding them and worse still, who allowed them back into society after a comfortable spell in hiding to be a 'PREDATOR' to our innocent children of God. that's is the true meaning of the word 'PREDATOR'. God will have his judgement because it is said that 'Those who come in white cloaks and do wrong in my name, will pay the highest price'. Hell would not be bad enough for a child molester.

  44. It is not relevant if you agree or disagree with Bishop Buckley over the Fr Ciaran Dallat issue, because more importantly, this site has created a platform of dialog for the people of the Catholic Church and indeed of all religions or none, because firstly your church is you, and how you live your life. The hiding has to stop. The numbers have dramatically dropped over the past 15yrs or so, and will continue as the elderly pass on and the youth see it more like a 'cult/mafia'. As a church goer I am fed up trying to hold the Catholic Church up and justifying it especially when I am horrified at how the priest child molesters were dealt with by the church in the past. My church is ME & how I live my life & frankly, if I didn't sing in church, I don't think I would go on a weekly basis at all, I would be an occasional visitor who would call to sit in silence and light a candle from time to time, and be where Christ would want me to be ie: out on the streets with his people. There has been and continues to be too many controversial happenings in the Catholic Church and I feel very sorry for the good priests who have to continue justifying, being embarrassed and answering to all this. It is time for change before it is too late, but then again Rome rules. My Christ walks with me every day. I may not agree with Bishop Buckley on this subject at hand, but one thing is for sure, he has my RESPECT as a follower of Christ and a man who is not afraid of speaking about the wrongs in the Catholic Church. Keep up the good work Bishop Buckley because Christ works in mysterious ways. PS I came across this site by accident whilst searching the net on Fr Ciaran
