CELIBACY - SEX AND PAEDOPHILIA

CELIBACY - SEX AND PAEDOPHILIA

COMPULSORY CELIBACY - WHILE NOT A DIRECT CAUSE OF PAEDOPHILIA - IS, IN MY VIEW, ONE OF THE INDIRECT CAUSES OF CHILD SEX ABUSE BY PRIESTS, BROTHERS AND NUNS.

Not to be sexually active is in the true meaning of the word "unnatural".

This is proven by the fact that the vast majority of men and women in the world need to be sexually active.

It is also proven by the fact that many of those who have celibacy imposed on them only cope by engaging in secret sexual affairs, masturbation, sexual imaginations etc. They also often cope by taking too much alcohol, gambling, abusing power, being money and wealth orientated, becoming hypochondriacs and by having their fair share of emotional and mental health problems.

A smaller number of them cope by abusing little boys and girls - or even by seducing vulnerable adult men and women.

GOD HIMSELF said in the first book of the Bible: "IT IS NOT GOOD FOR MAN TO BE ALONE".

A priest giving a retreat to the priests of the Archdiocese of Dublin some years ago began his retreat by saying:

"Let's be honest with ourselves, Fathers, most of us cope with celibacy in three ways - Too much golfing. Too much whiskey. Too much masturbation".

When you add to celibacy the Catholic Church's deeply unhealthy preoccupation with sex and its promotion of extreme sexual guilt you have the perfect set up in which sexual deviations - including paedophilia - flourish.

The Catholic Church's approach to sex, celibacy and virginity is really a deviation factory!

There are priests who seem to cope well with celibacy - but if you examine them and their lives more deeply you will find a more than healthy amount of neurosis.

A small number go on to develop the psychosis of paedophilia.

Compulsory celibacy is an EVIL LAW leading to EVIL CONSEQUENCES.

It was brought into the Church for less than honourable reasons:

1. An army of celibates is easier to control than an army of priests with wives / partners.

2. It was hoped that priest's wealth would stay in the Church rather than to be dispersed to wives, children and families.

A wise men said:

"Sex is the Catholic Church's modern Galileo".

Rome used sex to control us all.

It is very interesting - and an almost suitable justice - that sex and sexual scandal is - and will be - the undoing of Rome.

  1. Hi pat, I heard of this website through a conversation I shouldn't have been in recently. But I'm glad I did. How wonderful to hear from someone who finally agrees that we don't need Jesus forgiveness and we are all equal. Personally I have always thought that asking forgiveness from him was redundant and unnecessary. All of us are equal and thanks for promoting this!!

    2. Goodness me, Fr Pat. You replied to 'Jim Campbell' exactly 1 minute after posting it. Normally you wait a good 10-15 minutes before replying to your own comments. ;)

  4. Personally, I've never taken all that celibacy mullarkey one bit seriously. I mean to say, those chaps that wrote it might have made a spelling mistake and what they meant to write was "celebrate", eh what?

Anyhoo, that's how I've always interpreted the old rule book - nothing beats a good old celebrate with one's mateys!

Over here in Belfast Cathedral we had a right Royal Mass for the Fallen yesterday on Remembrance Sunday. All was missing were the poppies.

Well you can't feed the smelly plebs of the Cathedral Parish (what's left of them) too much culture all at once. But, by jingo, you mark my words - there will be poppies yet. Myself and Nigellina intend to make the Royal Albert Hall Service of Remembrance look like a shady side show.

It was wonderful really with the black vestments, Duruflé and a good old blast of Nimrod by Elgar at the end. Nothing quite like it. Thank God for the Empire.

On a more serious note, every year on Remembrance Day, I get a large lump, everytime I think of all those lovely young guys, whose average age was nineteen, off to die valiantly. Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori! It makes me grow stiff with emotion.

  5. I agree with 1&2 above-Makes sense. I dont know if paedophilia and enforced celibacy are linked but living in a restrained environment can only amplify issues lurking beneath the surface

    1. I don't "know" either Sean, and while my own instinct and experience suggests a link, I found it instructive to read the Wikipedia info I previously referred to on 2/11/15 @ 09-48 [ in my comment on "The Vatican Investigates another Founder" blog}. The research suggests that the prevalence of sexual abuse among the clergy is no greater than in the general population. It would be interesting to see an independent analysis of the validity of that research, for, as I think we all agree, our own 'gut feeling' and experiences suggests that enforced celibacy (and additionally all the warped thinking and practices associated with the RC church's preoccupation with sexual practices) does indeed play a significant role in abuse.

    2. MMM I'm sure I said much of what you say above in a previous submission. My own experience was in not being able to have an open relationship of a sexual nature I was frustrated & repressed. My refuge was the bottle. I am sober now for over 15 years & married in a thriving relationship. I am currently an Authorised Lay Minister in church (CoE) and still able to continue my 2 bobs worth. I missed active ministry and am exploring how best I can contribute to the life of the parish-Shame that never came to pass in Ireland-but then I wouldnt have met the mrs....

    3. Sean the C of E regards your orders as identical with its own, so why not seek a "Licence to Officiate" from an Anglican bishop?

  6. PS Dermot Morgan's Fr Ted show on the surface was daft and comical but underneath was a strong helping of veiled reality

  7. If you push the normal sexual urge down under the surface it will invariably raise its head in monstrous form at some other point.

  8. I am so sorry I missed the Remembrance Sunday ceremonies in the Cathedral. I was standing at the cenotaph at 11am but my mind drifted to the high liturgical rubrics in the lower Falls. I could just picture the procession with the Cathedral Dean assisted by the sub Dean Emeritus Dallat as they processed up the aisle to the strains of the choir singing Taveners Requiem under the skilful baton of Nigela Von Klincock. Upon reaching the sanctuary they would have been met by the Rt Rev Timmo Bartelleto, Auxillary in Waiting who would have deputised for the Ordinary as the strains of the Last Post played by the lead trumpeter of the Cathal Bruga Silver Band from Clonard filled the cathedral. What a feast of high culture for the great unwashed from the Pound Loney to behold.

    2. A flagrant liturgical abuse in St Peter's occurred on Sunday. On the Sundays of Ordinary Time, only Funeral Masses - and no other Masses for the Dead - may be celebrated. The "Dane" ignored this and she a "liturgist"? The Dane and Nigel Show on Sunday was not a Funeral. It was a PERFORMANCE of Durufle's Requiem with the Mass tagged on. Methinks too the "great Dane" has twigged she has an audience and is playing to it.

  9. A senior RC cleric in the USA told me on the telephone the other day that paedophilia in the general population of males lies somewhere around 4%.

He also says that experts he has consulted in the USA says that it is higher than 4% among Roman Catholic priests.

  11. Celibacy must be a lonely existence. I was married 25 years before losing my wife to cancer. My gal pal lost her husband of over 20 years to cancer too. We enjoy sex with each other without any guilt. God would understand. :-)

    Peace ~ Bear
