EAMON MARTIN - IRELAND'S CATHOLIC HOPE !

EAMON MARTIN - IRELAND'S CATHOLIC HOPE !

THE FUTURE OF IRISH ROMAN CATHOLICISM IS IN THE HANDS OF THE ABOVE MAN - EAMON MARTIN - AS HE CELEBRATES HIS BIRTHDAY IN HIS "MAMMYS" HOUSE AND WEARS WHAT HE CALLS - HIS "NEW MITRE" !

Is it a mitre or a "Dunces Hat". If the latter maybe he should be sent to stand in the corner?

How can a man who publishes this photo of himself expect us to take him seriously as a church leader, a spiritual leader or a promoter of a convincing theological argument.

It seems to me that he thinks he became Archbishop of Armagh as some kind of a personal award to himself - and not a position of leadership in a time when the Roman Catholic Church in Ireland has lost nearly all credibility.

Are we really expected to follow a fool - who makes public pictures of himself in a gold party hat in his Mammy's house celebrating his birthday - even if he is wearing an expensive LACOSTE shirt?

Is the Irish Catholic Church so bereft of solid clergy as to make this man their "Primate of All Ireland".

To me Eamon Martin is an effeminate man with a suspicious tight set of lips and with absolutely no gravitas.

He compares very poorly to previous primates. Tomas O Fiaich was a substantial leader and an internationally recognised historian who as Pope Francis puts it "had the smell of the sheep about him".

Even Cahal Daly, for whom I have no great love, was a highly educated philosopher who was capable of producing profound speeches and who could at least put forward arguments for the faith that had to be taken seriously.

Ireland has had some great Catholic Church leaders (even if we did not always agree with them) -

Archbishop Hale of Tuam who was nicknamed "The Lion of the West".

John Charles McQuaid - the ruler of Catholic Ireland.

Cardinal Paul Cullen - the prelate / politician.

And now when Catholicism is undergoing its greatest peril in hundreds of years they offer us Eamon Martin - the man who likes to dress up in glorious robes,

who tweets about his Mamy's advice on washing his Pallium and pretends to be "trendy" by publishing birthday pics that make him look like a right twatt.

COME BACK CACKLE - ALL IS FORGIVEN !!!

  1. The appointment of Eamon Martin as archbishop of Armagh is part of Nuncio Browns strategy to "soften" the image of the hierarchy. After the absolute disaster visited upon the Catholic church as the result of the sexual abuse and financial scandals and their complete mishandling and cover ups by the old guard the thinking has been to make the new bosses more people friendly and media presentable. Eamon Martin fits that profile. So that the oul lizzies are kept on side " the mammy" is given a wee indirect role in the whole scenario !
The "humanising" of bishops by using modern social media outlets to project a more down to earth and friendly image is all part of the game plan.
I think it's too little too late!

    1. Is Mrs Martin fulfilling the role of the Virgin Mary. Is Eamon an immaculate misconception :-)

  2. Dear Pat,
I think you make some very valid observations of Archbishop Martin.
He will "not rock any boats" , and will like Sean Brady soon pass from public consciousness.
Who ever quotes or refers to anything that Cardinal Brady ever said, other than his role in the infamous Brendan Smyth affair ?
Eamon Martin & Sean Brady are "peas from the same pod", dull, predictable, company men who have little to offer in the way of leadership. The Vatican could have chosen better, but then a certain risk may have been involved; lets not take any risks, better to die quietly without any fuss.

  3. Bishop, I see that you have forced our esteemed Primate to remove his birthday pic from his Twitter account.

I dont like him as he is unable to speak Latin.

  5. The only thing that's colourful about Eamon Martin is his coat of arms !

  6. So much hatred and nastiness towards someone who is really a harmless 'crittur'.

I am no lover of Catholic Church hierarchy, but I don't want its obvious deficiencies
and moral failings to rob me of my charity and to replace it with a corrosive cynicism; in fact, I refuse to let it do so. I wish the man well.

  8. Dear Pat, thanks for highlighting the fact that a bishop celebrated his birthday. Not only celebrated it but had cake a balloon and a hat. What is the world coming to? Thank God you highlight this cruel and evil celebration that has taken place

    1. Yes, A bishop celebrated his birthday with a hat, a baloon and a cake - a bishop who teaches that baptised children get first place in his schools, a bishop who says condoms are evil, a bishop who says gay people are "disordered", a bishop who says a pregnant woman should die rather than have medical intervention etc.

Maybe such a bishop should be holding up an air filled condom with a shull and cross bones on it?

A man who has "harmless" birthday parties is not ALWAYS harmless!

    2. ok so pretty much a bishop of the Catholic Church who promotes her faiths. My goodness, well I never! The picture of his party is irrelevant to what you believe about him and is childish and nasty on your part.
Furthermore, do you really believe all these people who sign off as parish priests to be real? To the author on 14/11/15 at 19.40, if he wants, get in contact with me and I will teach this "priest" some basics of the church which I assume every priest knows. Or maybe this "priest" will teach us about what the immaculate conception means to him.
