FATHER CIARAN DALLAT TO GO TO PRISON! / RASHARKIN MYSTERY

FATHER CIARAN DALLAT TO GO TO PRISON! /RASHARKIN PARISH MYSTERY

BREAKING NEWS - DIOCESE OF DOWN AND CONNOR -

This Blog learned today that Bishop Treanor has begun negotiations with the NORTHERN IRELAND OFFICE - to have the sex scandal priest - FATHER CIARAN DALLAT appointed as a prison chaplain on a full government salary.

Bishop Treanor and Father Dallat caused public uproar  on Holy Thursday when Dallat appeared among the diocesan clergy con-celebrating the Chrism Mass.

As a result of the fury caused by Father Dallat's appearance in the cathedral it is thought that Bishop Treanor has come to believe that it would be impossible to impose Father Dallat on a parish - due to the possible objections and uproar in the parish.

Bishop Treanor has been in negotiations with his advisers to see if he can slot Father Dallat into a non parish role and apparently the suggestion emerged of appointinmg him to the prison service!

However this proposal is marred with difficulties. Father Dallat did take advantage of a vulnerable and grieving woman parishioner and made her pregnant.

Prison is full of vulnerable women and even though Father Dallat may behave himself is it really wise to appoint him to a pastoral situation where he will be dealing with very vulnerable women?

It seems that in his termination to have Father Dallat back Bishop Treanor is coming up with more and more unwise options for Father Dallat.

Bishop Treanor needs to realise that Father Dallat is probably damaged beyond the point of reinstatement in the priesthood.

If he really wants him back maybe he should apoint him as his private secretary and leave Father Joe Glover, his present secretary, free to be appointed to a parish or indeed to the prison.

DOES BISHOP TREANOR KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING IN DOWN AND CONNOR AND THE PROBLEMS HE IS CAUSING ???

RASHARKIN PARISH ENGULFED IN MYSTERY

THE CATHOLIC PARISH OF RASHARKIN in County Antrim is engulfed in mystery sine Holy Thursday just before Easter.

It appears that on Holy Thursday in Holy Week the parish priest - Father John Murray - without any warning - became suddenly ill and unavailable.

John Murray
Father Murray's welcome on the Rasharkin website:

Welcome to St Mary's Parish Rasharkin, I am the Reverend John Murray, the Parish Priest of Rasharkin Parish.  I was ordained a priest in 1965 and served in Belfast for the first 10 years of my ministry.  I have also served in Coleraine, Lisburn and Antrim before moving to Rasharkin in 2009.

I enjoy being with people and sharing in their happy times and being there to support them in their sad days.  I always try to be optimistic in everything I do and to live my life in the present rather than in the past or the future.  While it is good to look to the past, and it is necessary to plan for the future, we must always remember that we will never get a chance to relive today and therefore we must enjoy each day and be in harmony with God and thank Him for today.

I enjoying playing golf on my time off and making cups of tea when anyone calls at the Parochial House.

Apparently at the same time Bishop Noel Treanor arrived at the parochial house to have a meeting with Father Murray.

Bishop Treanor was accompanied to Rasharkin by the diocesan Chancellor, Father Eugene O'Hagan - who has adopted the Bishop Treanor hairstyle.

Father Murray's Holy Thursday ceremonies were conducted, at short notice, by the curate of All Saint's Parish, Ballymena - Father Darren Brennan.

The Diocese of Down and Connor has not released any statement about Father Murray or his state of health.

We hope that he is ok?

"Dear Pat, As regards CD - sooner or later +NT will have to throw him overboard. CD behaved wrecklessly and immorally and he is now having to pay the price.

We in the diocese are awaiting some long term scandals to blow up in Treanor's face and it seems that your blog is the only place we can comment.

    1. Father, I agree. Some issues that we have all know about and that have been "on the boil" for years are now erupting. It seems that Noel Treanor - being an outsider and being the kind he is is unable to cope and is trying to come up with solutions that Daly and Walsh would never have attempted.

  7. I'm glad PP at 17.35 agrees with me about some long term stuff going to erupt soon. As I said in my earlier post something is beginning to bubble at the moment. This will be most enjoyable to watch unfold. Especially as there will be more than a few ( yourself included Pat) who can say " I told you so!"

    1. Dear Father, Thank you. I must say I am never tempted to say: "I told you so".

I just wish that over the years when I have brought issues PRIVATELY to Paddy Walsh and now Noel Treanor they had acted - which at least in some cases would have avoided scandal and further pain.

But at this stage I have DESPAIRED of sending anyone to Treanor.

I would be better sending them to Herod or Pontius Pilate !

The trouble is of course that only a rational bishop would do anything sensible with Fr Dallatt. And do you not understand that the bishop's secretary role is reserved for some power crazy cleric with his eyes on a miter not one with his eyes on the women???!!!

Even in a men's prison a man on the staff could find sexual opportunities with women. In fact I think more opportunities because the fact of so many male pheromones around could create a sexually charged atmosphere for a woman.

I don't know who the priest was as I am not in the wee north but I noticed that he did not give out Communion himself but left it to two lay ministers. It was 9am Mass and very few there. Out of curiosity I looked up the Parish Website only to discover that Frs Kennedy and Dallat are still listed as the only personnel there. It doesn't seem to have been updated since January 2015. Maybe that was Dallats job ?

  28. Ref Fr Murray and the Rasharkin mystery:

IF the Bishop and one of the singing Priests called with Fr Murray, could it be possible that Fr Murray has been asked to step aside? This may account for what has been rumoured about his illness and sick leave - that it is due to depression and stress? Would it not then be necessary that the Bishop would inform the parishioners of short-term arrangements?

The parishioners have been told nothing by anyone in authority. Rumour and speculation abound. At the moment, Fr Murray is off with stress and depression and we are told he will be returning to Rasharkin in a month. Seems strange to me that if he is ill, he has not been prayed for by any of the replacement priests in Rasharkin?
How definite is the rumour that the Bishop and a singing Priest visited Fr Murray shortly before he became ill?

I'm afraid in the absence of a statement rumour abounds in the Down and Connor presbyterate - some of whom claim to know the problem the bishop had with Father Murray.
