FATHER CIARAN DALLAT TO GO TO PRISON! /RASHARKIN PARISH MYSTERY
RASHARKIN PARISH ENGULFED IN MYSTERY
BREAKING NEWS - DIOCESE OF DOWN AND CONNOR -
This Blog learned today that Bishop Treanor has begun negotiations with the NORTHERN IRELAND OFFICE - to have the sex scandal priest - FATHER CIARAN DALLAT appointed as a prison chaplain on a full government salary.
This Blog learned today that Bishop Treanor has begun negotiations with the NORTHERN IRELAND OFFICE - to have the sex scandal priest - FATHER CIARAN DALLAT appointed as a prison chaplain on a full government salary.
Bishop Treanor and Father Dallat caused public uproar on Holy Thursday when Dallat appeared among the diocesan clergy con-celebrating the Chrism Mass.
As a result of the fury caused by Father Dallat's appearance in the cathedral it is thought that Bishop Treanor has come to believe that it would be impossible to impose Father Dallat on a parish - due to the possible objections and uproar in the parish.
Bishop Treanor has been in negotiations with his advisers to see if he can slot Father Dallat into a non parish role and apparently the suggestion emerged of appointinmg him to the prison service!
However this proposal is marred with difficulties. Father Dallat did take advantage of a vulnerable and grieving woman parishioner and made her pregnant.
Prison is full of vulnerable women and even though Father Dallat may behave himself is it really wise to appoint him to a pastoral situation where he will be dealing with very vulnerable women?
It seems that in his termination to have Father Dallat back Bishop Treanor is coming up with more and more unwise options for Father Dallat.
Bishop Treanor needs to realise that Father Dallat is probably damaged beyond the point of reinstatement in the priesthood.
If he really wants him back maybe he should apoint him as his private secretary and leave Father Joe Glover, his present secretary, free to be appointed to a parish or indeed to the prison.
DOES BISHOP TREANOR KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING IN DOWN AND CONNOR AND THE PROBLEMS HE IS CAUSING ???

RASHARKIN PARISH ENGULFED IN MYSTERY
THE CATHOLIC PARISH OF RASHARKIN in County Antrim is engulfed in mystery sine Holy Thursday just before Easter.
It appears that on Holy Thursday in Holy Week the parish priest - Father John Murray - without any warning - became suddenly ill and unavailable.
Apparently at the same time Bishop Noel Treanor arrived at the parochial house to have a meeting with Father Murray.
Bishop Treanor was accompanied to Rasharkin by the diocesan Chancellor, Father Eugene O'Hagan - who has adopted the Bishop Treanor hairstyle.
Father Murray's Holy Thursday ceremonies were conducted, at short notice, by the curate of All Saint's Parish, Ballymena - Father Darren Brennan.

Father Murray's welcome on the Rasharkin website:
Welcome to St Mary's Parish Rasharkin, I am the Reverend John Murray, the Parish Priest of Rasharkin Parish. I was ordained a priest in 1965 and served in Belfast for the first 10 years of my ministry. I have also served in Coleraine, Lisburn and Antrim before moving to Rasharkin in 2009.
I enjoy being with people and sharing in their happy times and being there to support them in their sad days. I always try to be optimistic in everything I do and to live my life in the present rather than in the past or the future. While it is good to look to the past, and it is necessary to plan for the future, we must always remember that we will never get a chance to relive today and therefore we must enjoy each day and be in harmony with God and thank Him for today.
I enjoying playing golf on my time off and making cups of tea when anyone calls at the Parochial House.
Apparently at the same time Bishop Noel Treanor arrived at the parochial house to have a meeting with Father Murray.

The Diocese of Down and Connor has not released any statement about Father Murray or his state of health.
We hope that he is ok?
I met him once thought he was a nice man not up his own ass like some priests . Hope he is ok
ReplyDeleteYes indeed - nobody could ever accuse Father John of ever been up his own ass.
DeletePP D&C
Maybe fr Eugene started to sing and fr john ran for the hills to get away from the dinn
ReplyDeletePerhaps Fr Cairan Dallat could be appointed administrator pro tem until this great North Antrim mystery is solved. One of two mysteries presently afoot in the northern half of the diocese. The other will be bubbling to the surface any day now!
ReplyDeletePP Co Antrim
Coleraines need for fr dallat is greater than Rasharkins
DeleteIs it f***.
ReplyDeleteColeraine Parishoner
Fr dallat would be most welcome in coleraine especially with all those lusty widows the poor fella wouldn't stand a chance
DeleteDo you not believe then that Father Dallat is a transformed man?
DeleteColeraine Colin
In the NAME OF GOD what is Bishop Treanor thinking? Sending Father Dallat back into a specialised ministry with vulnerable people!
ReplyDeleteHas Treanor completely lost it!

COMMENT SUBMITTED BY A D&C PRIEST via TEXT:
ReplyDelete"Dear Pat, As regards CD - sooner or later +NT will have to throw him overboard. CD behaved wrecklessly and immorally and he is now having to pay the price.
We in the diocese are awaiting some long term scandals to blow up in Treanor's face and it seems that your blog is the only place we can comment.
To me fellow priests and laity I would say - "You ain't seen nothing yet"
Priest of D&C"
Father, I agree. Some issues that we have all know about and that have been "on the boil" for years are now erupting. It seems that Noel Treanor - being an outsider and being the kind he is is unable to cope and is trying to come up with solutions that Daly and Walsh would never have attempted.
DeleteI'm glad PP at 17.35 agrees with me about some long term stuff going to erupt soon. As I said in my earlier post something is beginning to bubble at the moment. This will be most enjoyable to watch unfold. Especially as there will be more than a few ( yourself included Pat) who can say " I told you so!"
ReplyDeletePriest, Co. Antrim
Dear Father, Thank you. I must say I am never tempted to say: "I told you so".
DeleteI just wish that over the years when I have brought issues PRIVATELY to Paddy Walsh and now Noel Treanor they had acted - which at least in some cases would have avoided scandal and further pain.
But at this stage I have DESPAIRED of sending anyone to Treanor.
I would be better sending them to Herod or Pontius Pilate !
Pat
Pat, this post has made me roar with laughter. I am a health professional and your despair at Bishop Treanor sounds exactly like me talking about my manager!
ReplyDeleteThe trouble is of course that only a rational bishop would do anything sensible with Fr Dallatt. And do you not understand that the bishop's secretary role is reserved for some power crazy cleric with his eyes on a miter not one with his eyes on the women???!!!
I am glad I gave you a laugh :-) I agree with you about the kinds of priests who hang around bishops and bishop's houses.
DeleteThere is of course the occasion exception (which proves the rule) like Eamon Casey who had both a mitre and a woman.
Was Ciaran Dallat's uncle "MICKEY" not another exception. He had a mitre and a woman.
DeleteIt seems that the Dallats find it hard to keep The Reverend John Thomas in their trousers.
Pastor Emeritus 11
Yes. But wiley Walsh micromanaged that one well - even keeping her out of sight at His Lordship's funeral.
DeletePP D&C
Were there any little Mickeys left behind?
DeleteAndytown Andy
To my knowledge there were no little "Mac An Easpaig's" left about in this case.
DeleteBallycastle Billy
What a really charming lot you all are! I met your Bishop twice - pleasant, good man! He is now + 65! If I was in his shoes I would be glad to escape from Down & Connor! Unfortunately for him I think he cannot resign until he is 75??!
ReplyDeleteLots of your contributors are promising him ten further years of Purgatory???
He has my profound sympathy.
Armagh Sam!
Many of us do wish that he made an escape from D&C.
DeleteWe need someone to come here with the mission to clean up the presbyterate - not to be trying to find round holes (pardon the pun) for square pegs.
Sagart.
I would have been very happy to have him as my Bishop. Armagh would have given him a chance!!'
DeleteSam
Armagh Sam, he would have been your bishop for the next ten years had he not insulted the child protection boss Ian Elliott.
ReplyDeleteTo Anon. At 19:54
DeleteThe fact that he did insult him, Armagh Sam, proves that the is not qualified to be bishop.
Bishop Treanor's problems - it seem to me - were in the Diocese before he came! They were not of his making - he seems to be getting no help - and who is there - really - who could adequately sort the place out!
ReplyDeleteIt seem to me that lots of your bloggers might welcome Donald Trump - his solution - nuke the lot!!!
Sam
Is it not a bishop's job to sort out what is wrong and build on what is good when he comes to a diocese?
DeleteNoel Treanor is a rather elegant white haired ostrich. The ostrich's main problem is that when he stick his head in the ground he leaves his behind high in the air!
Its not too late for him - even at this stage - to take his head out of the sand and mind his butt - and everyone else's butts.
What about it Noel?
Pastor Emeritus 11
I presume that Fr Dallat will be ministering to men , not women. So, what's the problem?
ReplyDeleteHas Fr Conleth Byrne been spiritual director or chaplain to Cushendall GAA Club?
ReplyDeleteWater foot Willie
Ciaran was manager/coach of the ladies camogie team in UUJ when he was chaplain there. I have said it before and I will say it again....this woman was not the first he took advantage of.
ReplyDeleteI totally respect your right to privacy.
DeleteBut if you or anyone else have information that would protect vulnerable people you need to make it known - even anonymously.
(A different commenter)
DeleteEven in a men's prison a man on the staff could find sexual opportunities with women. In fact I think more opportunities because the fact of so many male pheromones around could create a sexually charged atmosphere for a woman.
Dallatt must be a charmer if he has bedded multiple women: it certainly isn't on the basis of looks.
As someone said of him before: "A bulldog with a wasp in its mouth".
DeleteIf he is reading this blog, I expect he will be sweating a little bit more than usual. Why do these men only apologise when they are caught? What arrogant men. But Ciaran knows what's coming.
DeleteMaybe Bishop Treanor could tap the Pink Red's for some more of their cast offs to "plug the gaps" of the Diocese, saying how great an impression Fr Mulhall is making in Coleraine.
ReplyDeleteAs I am housebound at present I like to get Mass on Church Services TV. Today I opted for St. Peter's Belfast. I don't know who the priest was as I am not in the wee north but I noticed that he did not give out Communion himself but left it to two lay ministers. It was 9am Mass and very few there. Out of curiosity I looked up the Parish Website only to discover that Frs Kennedy and Dallat are still listed as the only personnel there. It doesn't seem to have been updated since January 2015. Maybe that was Dallats job ?
ReplyDeleteYes it is true the St Peters website is very dated. The last Parish Bulletin to appear was March 2015. Talk of snail mail!!!!
ReplyDeleteIggy O Donovan
I'm really surprised that the new administrator Father Martin Graham is allowing that to slide so badly.
DeleteI thought he was more efficient than that - and its a job he can delegate to the web master.
Come on Martin - get your finger out!
Everyone keeps hinting at possible unfolding drama and 'more scandal to come' - could someone please tell me the following:
ReplyDeleteWhich priest married his male partner in a civil ceremony?
What is Father Murray alleged to have done?
What other scandal is to be revealed in the coming weeks/months?
How many more women has D&C's answer to Brad Pitt AKA Ciara Dallat bedded?
Are you seriously looking for scandal? If only we prayed for our priests more than we looked for scandal...
DeleteI keep wondering the same thing . It's worse than game of thrones
DeleteYOU pray for your priests.
DeleteTHEY prey on you, your children, your men, your women and your wallets!
There is no group in the world more interested in scandal and rumour than Catholic priests. They love gossiping about each other. I should know. I am one.
DeletePriest of D&C
I always thought the group most interested in gossip was gay men.
DeleteOh.
Are we putting Fr. CD in the same league as King David who got Bathsheba pregnant and then had her husband killed?
ReplyDeleteFather Dallat has never killed anyone. So he's ok according to the 5th Commandment.
DeleteNow the 6th Commandment - that's a white horse of a different colour.
PP D&C
Yer man in Coleraine only seems to be impressing himself, he doesn't pull the wool over this 'sheep'.
ReplyDeleteNor me either he's a nasty piece of work . He is no man of God
DeleteI am seventy-nine years old - last contact I had with any bishop was confirmation.
DeleteYou imply that I have something to gain - what is it.
Please - please - do try to get some psychiatric aid before your get even more seriously ill!
Your logic is appalling.
Your language crude.
Your spelling and grammar pathetic!
Go sort yourself
If Father Dallat becomes a prison chaplain - and as a serving prison officer I certainly hope he does not - will the NIO draw up a special contract for him that deprives him of access to women prisoners and indeed women prison officers?
ReplyDeleteI'm not long home from work. The prison officers are all talking about him joining the job and are threatening not to work with him.
Stranocum Stan
For God's sake would you all calm down!
ReplyDeleteThe only source saying that Father Dallat is going into the prison service is this blog and the clerical rumour mill.
Bishop Treanor has not made up his mind yet about Father Dallat yet.
Senior Priest of Down and Connor
Well he would need to tell that to Ciaran Dallat then!
DeletePP D&C
May God protect your good Bishop -Noel!!!!
DeleteDown & Connor has more than its fair share of whiners, grunters, groaners and complainers - both clerical and lay!
Why can't you help, the man instead of inflicting a form of martyrdom in him - if I were in his shoes I would just say - SOD OFF - and leave you to sort out your own problems.
I wish youBishop,well! You don't deserve him!
Your absolutely right we don't deserve him ! We deserve much better
DeleteSeems to me - 19.50 - your Bishop deserves better - you deserve nothing!
DeletePip
Well nothing would be better than what we got !
DeleteDown & Connor
DeleteWhere do you find such strange, sad, psychotic creatures?

DeletePlease read above 17.18.

Why is communication with the clergy so bad in Down and Connor. The only way I hear what is going on in the diocese is through the clerical rumours and this blog.
ReplyDeleteAlso - is it not uncanny how much the author of this blog knows?
Sagart
Down and connor / bishops office don't want to know nor do they care . If you ring up with a complaint ul get some wishy washy women who will bang out a well used reel that everyone is in meetings and they will ring you straight back . They never do and when you ring back you get another woman who says wotever your problem is it's not their problem and not to ring again . . The reason pat knows more than most is because of what I just wrote . People need to speak to someone they feel will listen and can offer help and advice and they come to pat
DeleteWhy is it uncanny? He has been living in the diocese for nearly 40 years. Also, 9 times out of 10 he gets it right.
DeleteHe more friends than enemies in the diocese and many people - clerical and lay - get a better reception at his door than they do at the door of Chateau Noel.
On top of that he has shown that he has more balls than the rest of us put together !
Pastor Emeritus 11
Yeah I agree there is more friendly reception at Pats door. It isn't first time John Murray turned away his own parishioners who were in need but was quite happy to stand down the street shoulder to shoulder with those who were persecuting them.
DeleteYes indeed... Fr Murray has been known to utter many curse words, and get involved in matters that he would have been wiser to stay out of, particularly when he didn't know the full story
DeleteRaP, R
nor does he like to be challenged or disagreed with its his way or no way. I have never met a priest like him who has had more run ins and disagreements with his own people but will quite happily stand up for and dine with the devils outside the parish
DeleteHow many more women has Father ********** bedded? So good looking as well!!!I heard the young girl in *********was not his first dalliance. The poor parishes in Antrim have been getting it tough of late.
ReplyDeleteFr Darren Brennan, Ballymena, pictured above is a true, good and holy young priest. Parishioner.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have heard very good things sbout him.
DeleteSomeone mentioned above about Dallat not being goodlooking but being a CHARMER.
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head. He comes over all caring and emotional and talks about your feelings and his etc - but he only has one thing in mind!
A woman who knows
And anyone who can talk their way into multiple beds can also talk their way out of trouble with the bishop. Didn’t somebody say something about people being ravening wolves on the inside?
DeleteFor some inexplicable reason Bishop Treanor is like putty in Ciaran Dallat's hands. He has obviously fallen for the charm too?
DeletePP D&C
I was in Maynooth with Dallat. He was hauled in front of the president for leaving the seminary at forbidden times. It was only the intervention of his bishop uncle that saved his bacon.
DeleteReally? CIaran left Maynooth in 1988. His uncle didn't become a bishop until 1993.
DeleteThere's a wonderful irony about that if it is true. The President who was there during all of Ciaran's time there, and before whom you say he was allegedly hauled in front of for leaving the seminary at forbidden times was Micheal Ledwith.
DeleteAny update on the Rasharkin One?
ReplyDeleteDunloy Denis
Ref Fr Murray and the Rasharkin mystery:
ReplyDeleteIF the Bishop and one of the singing Priests called with Fr Murray, could it be possible that Fr Murray has been asked to step aside? This may account for what has been rumoured about his illness and sick leave - that it is due to depression and stress? Would it not then be necessary that the Bishop would inform the parishioners of short-term arrangements?
The parishioners have been told nothing by anyone in authority. Rumour and speculation abound. At the moment, Fr Murray is off with stress and depression and we are told he will be returning to Rasharkin in a month. Seems strange to me that if he is ill, he has not been prayed for by any of the replacement priests in Rasharkin?
How definite is the rumour that the Bishop and a singing Priest visited Fr Murray shortly before he became ill?
Rent-a-Priest, Rasharkin
Dear RaP, R,
DeleteTwo senior priests of the diocese made the claim that the visit to Father Murray had occurred. Neither the bishop or Father O'Hagan have made any comments or statements about Father Murray, his illness, their alleged visit or his return in one month etc.
I'm afraid in the absence of a statement rumour abounds in the Down and Connor presbyterate - some of whom claim to know the problem the bishop had with Father Murray.
As you know - in the Church - its all cloaks, daggers, silences and rumours.
I have heard that the "problem" with John Murray is connected to a "problem" with another priest of the diocese - in the sense of John knowing something he withheld from Treanor?
DeletePastor Emeritus 11
Is there some connection between Dallat and John Murray?
DeleteI find it hard to believe the stress and depression line firstly he has done nothing for the parish apart from spend money unwisely to get stressed or depressed over and secondly he always preached from the pulpit that anyone with depression didn't need medication they just needed to have more faith in God. What then is this telling us about his faith?
DeleteDepressed Rasharkin female stressed about bed hopping priest coming this way, one pervy priest was enough
Maybe Ciaran Dallat will be sent to Rasharkin in Fr Murray's absence...In which case, lock up your females...
ReplyDeleteRent-a-Priest, Rasharkin
My apologies,
ReplyDeleteNot used to this telchnology!
My answer to you is above - somewhere - at 17.18.
Please go for much needed help!

Can I ask 18/4. 18.52 Pastor Emeritus 11 if the other problem is the same one as hinted at in the post of PP Co Antrim on 16/4: 16.01
ReplyDeleteSending Dallat to prison may put at risk those he ministers to if allegedly there are issues which may cloud his judgement
ReplyDeleteDear Bishop Pat
ReplyDeleteIt would be lovely if you could separate the two issues on your blog of Ciaran Dallat and Father Murray. I am having difficulty keeping up with replies on the blog. The Rasharkin mystery just keeps on churning.
Bishop Pat is my delight after a few weeks of our new relief Priest Fr. O ‘Kane, a SMA based at Dromantine. What can I say, such a Decent Holy Religious Man, he is loved by all. He uses words like love, peace, thank you, beautiful music, and his biggest attribute is in what he says – His AVAILABILLTY, as he keeps telling us. Thank you lord for giving us such a great priest, a man we deserve and will cherish, I so pray we have him for a while, we have done our hardship, no need to give out anymore, thanks bee, Noelly got off the hock well, cause us Sharkin folk are no push over’s – Bless us all.
