US GAY PILGRIMAGE HAS BEGUN

US GAY PILGRIMAGE HAS BEGUN

THE FIRST EVER GAY, LESBIAN, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDERED PILGRIMAGE TO IRELAND HAS LANDED AT SHANNON AIRPORT LED BY THE AMERICAN NUN - SISTER JEANNINE GRAMICK.

This Blog understands that the pilgrimage was met on the tarmac at Shannon by a group of Irish priests, nuns and lay people who were waving the flags of Ireland, the Vatican and the United States.

At the time of going to press we were not able to establish if the greeting delegation included representatives of the Irish Catholic Hierarchy and the Papal Nuncio in Dublin - Archbishop Charles Brown one of Mrs Brown's boys.

Charlie
The pilgrimage is having some of its Masses celebrated for them by the Irish Redemptorist Order at their ESKER GALWAY and CLONARD BELFAST monasteries.

Clonard

They are also visiting with the SISTERS OF MERCY in Baggot Street in Dublin.

One of their final Masses will be hosted by the Irish CARMELITE ORDER at their Dublin 4 monastery.

We hope that the pilgrims on this first gay pilgrimage to Ireland - THE LAND OF RAINBOWS AND WEDDING BELLS - will have a lovely time and receive a proper Irish welcome from Ireland's bishops, priests, religious and laity in the spirit of POPE FRANCIS who said:

If you believe that the pope is the Vicar of Christ on earth - then you must do what he tells you.

If you want to join in the pilgrimage Masses / events here are some contacts numbers:

  1. Can have no objection provided they dress properly, behave modestly and will not make a mockery of our Faith.

    1. What are you saying - do you really think they will go to Mass at Clonard naked?

    2. Let them come and go and see the murals and do whatever the hell they like. But not making a mockery of a Catholic pilgrimage and NOT abusing Holy Mass to score their cheap points. Bishop Treanor has a most grave obligation to tell the priests in Clonard NO!!!

  2. On one or two ocassions before I have commented here relating to PR matters and damage limitation issues. That was my job for over 25 years. I should say that I write this from a PR perspective and not a moral one.
Bishop Treanor or any bishop for that matter would be well advised to leave this can of worms alone.
What we have here is a group of Americans visiting Clonard. They are hardly going to wreck the church or run amok around Belfast. They probably will be here and gone in no time. Other than followers of this blog and a few other interested souls few know or care about this visit. Well enough should be left alone.
However, should the bishop ban this pilgrimage he may well find that he has lit a fuse on a bomb which will explode and have catastrophic consequences for him and the diocese.
He has yet to recover professionally from the serious error of judgement in challenging Ian Elliot without diving headlong into this issue.
A ban would leave him open, and rightly so to suppression of a minority group. The media would be all over this and elevate it into a major news story. They thrive on this stuff.
These are after all US citizens being denied the right to pray in a church in " mother Ireland"
The liberal friendly and anti Catholic lobby in the media would start " outing" clergy all over the shop. There would be stories galore about the private lives of priests. The local church would be pilloried for medieval attitudes- and rightly so.
I would suggest that no comment be offered about this one. Perhaps on the day the bishop can be at meetings all day and uncontactable.
Let them have their couple of hours here and let them depart.

    1. Dear Spin Doctor,

These perverts will be in Ireland for a week and will be visiting sites that are well beloved to us Catholics and paid for by us.

Its bad enought for the Redemptorists, the Carmelites and the Mercy Nuns to have them at their sites - but they are visiting the site of the apparition of the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY at Knock

They are also mocking us by paying homage at the statue of the promiscuous Oscar Wilde.

This pilgrimage is a mockery of all things Catholic.

It is Bishop Treanor's solemn duty to teach the true faith and not to worry about PR or spin.

How long are our bishops and priests going to remain silent and allow anti Catholic forces to walk all over us?

    2. I agree with the spin doctor. Treanor has made a number of PR bo-boos - Ian Elliott, spending on his house and the Ciaran Dallat affair - not to mention joining the DUP anti gay lobby.

He should take himself off to Brussels for the day.

    3. Can I ask Faith of Our Fathers how he feels about Pope Francis reaching out to the gay community?

His language is hardly in line with his Church's supreme authority ???

    4. There is no problem with people praying in a Church and going to Mass.

However, this is a group with a specific agenda led by a lady who is not in good standing as a Catholic religious sister.

Clonard and the other places that are allowing Mass to be celebrated for this specific group, with their particular agenda (Pro-gay "marriage", etc.), is very problematic and the bishop should and MUST intervene to stop them. It will cause scandal.

This is all quite typical, of course, of the spirit that has now taken hold of the Redemptorist Order and the attitudes of those in leadership. It is not good - not good at all!

The newspapers might also pick up on the fact that a group who flout the Church's moral teaching are being given the run of a Catholic Church and Mass celebrated in their honor!!

As regards the press outing gay priests who are not keeping their vows - they would be doing us all a favour by outing them. We would be better off without them - including the straight ones who are playing around with women.

    5. Do you realise how many parishes would be left without priests if all the sexually active priests were "outed" and removed?

    6. we would be better off without them, Fr. They are not fit for purpose given what we are hearing on this website.

    7. Be careful what you say. Ciaran Dallat could be your new PP if Bishop Treanor is bent on making another big gaff!

    8. Totally agree with Anonymous at 18:01. And with all due respect Fr at 17:44 - they are not priests at all.

  3. I rang Clonard today to ask the time of the Gay Mass for the yanks and was told it was a "private Mass"!

Is there such a thing as a private Mass?

  5. It is obvious from some of the responses to my post that there are contributors here who have very deeply help traditional catholic beliefs. That is commendable. As I said in my post I was not getting into a moral argument but only offering an opinion from a PR perspective. If i was still working (I'm retired now) and was consulted on this matter the advice I would have given would have been simply to leave this one alone.
If ever it were true then an old saying about folk people knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing applies here. Now there's an irony!!

  6. They are also visiting with the SISTERS OF MERCY in Baggot Street. Someone should tell them it's not 'Faggot street' or maybe after this visit they might just change the name.

  7. Here are many reasons why gay "marriage" is morally wrong and cannot be called a righteous, authentic marital union. It violates the clear and unambiguous moral teaching of the Scriptures, wherein men and women are designed and function differently, complement and complete each other and through the wonder of marital union are able to procreate to perpetuate the human race. It is contrary to the explicit teaching of every major world religion, which upholds the integrity of marriage and family. It redefines and devalues the sacred institution of marriage exclusively between a man and a woman, opens the floodgates for other arrangements and legitimizes a lifestyle replete with dangerous, at-risk sexual behaviour, such as HIV/AIDS and over 30 STDs that are endangering lives, jeopardizing healthcare and impacting our economy. There are multiple times in the Hebrew-Christian Bible where homosexual behaviour is explicitly prohibited as dishonouring to God and natural order plus destructive to those involved with them. Scripture throughout forbids us to be sexually involved with:• Parents • Children • Siblings • Another person's spouse • Animals • Deceased • Same-sex

  8. Today, embracing diversity refers to embracing all kinds of sexual orientation and gender identification but rejects every kind of religious or moral conviction that does not embrace them. Today, tolerance refers to the complete acceptance of GLBT lifestyles and ideology, but refuses to tolerate any view that is contrary. Today, inclusion refers to working with and supporting gay events and goals but excluses anyone who is not in harmony with them. Today, hate and ‘homophobic’ refers to anyone who has an attitude, thought or word that differs with the ‘gay agenda’, while gays are virtually exempt from the charge of hate speech, always perceived as victims and never the victimizers.
Gay activists first came out of the closet, then they demanded their ‘rights’, now they demand that everyone recognises their rights and they want to put into the closet anyone who opposes them.

  9. There is a load of codswallop going on & maybe Bord Failte is the only winner. Pilgrimages are for people. Being gay or black or 40 shades of green is coincidental. By the way does sexuality as we understand it carry over to eternity......Im sure Jesus had something to say. All people deserve fair and equal treatment

  10. There are some terrible displays of intolerance towards minorities being exhibited on this blog. Also selective biblical quotations. Perhaps they should remember this. God fashioned man ( and woman, and children) in his own likeness. Everyone is Gods creation. Heterosexual, homosexual, non sexual, etc etc. Gods didn't make rubbish. If God wasn't selective then how arrogant for anybody on here or anywhere to be so and to involved gods written word to bolster their warped beliefs.

  11. If we are all God's children, then why did Jesus say 'your father is the devil' in (John 8:44) By the way 'healthy thinker', God's word is truth and Satan is the father of lies, there is no truth in him and if you don't have any of God's word in you, then you are also a child of the devil, who is the accuser of the believers. This has got nothing to do with 'intolerance' but everything to do with 'truth', the truth will liberate and set you free.

  12. God may have 'fashioned' man in his own image and likeness but that likeness and image was disfigured by Satan. Jesus came to restore it, that's why you need to have a new birth and become a 'new creation', a new species of humanity not of the order of Adam, but of Christ. I cannot think od a more twisting of the personality of man than a homosexual, take it or leave it.
