MAYNOOTH - THE IRISH BISHOPS

MAYNOOTH - BISHOPS A LAUGHING STOCK

THE IRISH CATHOLIC BISHOPS are a laughing stock and are as practical and useful as TITS ON A BULL!

The current MAYNOOTH GAY SCANDAL is showing them up for what they are - dense! - dopey! - gutless! - cretinous! - wooden headed! - irresponsible! - inept! - inane!  and laughable!

If you set out to construct the worse possible body of men to run an organisation you would be hard put to it to devise a more miserable bunch than what currently exists.

These are the ones I am talking about - EAMON MARTIN (Armagh); KIERAN O'REILLY (Cashel); MICHAEL NEARY (Tuam); PHILIP BOYCE (Raphoe); DENIS BRENNAN (Ferns); RAY BROWN (Kerry); JOHN BUCKLEY (Cork); WILLIW CREAN (Cloyne); PHONSIE CULLINAN (Waterford); KEVIN DORAN (Sligo);  FRANCIS DUFFY (Ardagh); RAY FIELD (Dublin); JOHN FLEMMING (Killala); BRENDAN KELLY (Achonry); JOHN KIRBY (Clonfert); BRENDAN LEAHY (Limerick); LIAM McDAID (Clogher); JOHN McAREAVEY(Dromore); DONAL McKEOWN (Derry); DENIS NULTY (Kildare); LEO O'REILLY (Kilmore); MICHAEL SMITH (Meath); NOEL TREANOR (Down and Connor); WAMON WALSH (Dublin).

At the moment I am leaving DIARMUID MARTIN of Dublin out of my "SHIP OF FOOLS" as I am waiting to see what he does about ordaining Deacon Gorgeous Byrne and what he does about the GRINDR priests in his diocese. However, to be honest, I'm not very hopeful :-(

As a collective they seem to think that the CURE for Maynooth's SUBCULTURE OF PROMISCUOUS GAY SEX / GRINDR is; saying The Rosary and eating your dinner with staff members!

To remind you who may have forgotten The Rosary - it consists of 15 DECADES - 5 "SORROWFUL", 5 "JOYFUL" AND 5 "GLORIOUS" .

Do the Bishops intend to a new 5 EROTIC MYSTERIES to deal with their GAY MIDNIGHT COWBOYS?

What could those erotic mysteries consist of:

1. The Robing of King Puck in a  Cloth of Gold Jock Strap?

2. The Visitation of Saint Damian Marlborough to Gorgeous Byrne?

3. The Descent of St Hugh Connolly on Maynooth with an Ark full of US Dollars?

4. The Presentation of two seminarians on a bed of ecstasy?

5. The Ascension of St Paul Psychologica into Nocturnia?

Over time on this Blog we will look at various bishops. Today I want to begin with BISHOP JOHN FLEMMING who is the Bishop of Killala. I have sent him the following OPEN LETTER:

Dear John,

Before you became the bishops of the great ecclesiastical territory of Killala you were the Rector of the Irish College in Rome.

During your time there there were a group of seminarians called THE CROCHET CLUB ( CC) who used to meet on Tuesday evenings. One of the ex-seminarians of the time - Terry Brady - told me personally that THE CROCHET CLUB was really a gay sex club.

Apparently the members of the club were involved with each other and with people outside the college. They were regular visitors to Rome's gay bars and venues.

One member of the CC - let's call him RP was later ordained for an Irish diocese and was in fact put in charge of young people in the diocese in two ways. He was in fact a great friend of the bishop of that diocese who did all he could to protect him.

When RP was in Rome - during your "pontificate" not only was he sexually active within the college but he also liked to hang about the Roman gay scene and was particularly fond of cruising around Rome's central train station.

He was spotted, at least once, having sex with strangers in alleyways near the Roma Termini.

He also used the computers in The Irish College (before Grindr days) to seek "meets".

Ex seminarian Terry Brady was put under pressure to join the CC and refused. He was then targeted by the gay subculture in that college:

He received sexually explicit phone calls in his room in the early hours of the morning.

He received sexually explicit notes under his room door during the night.

He had his underwear stolen from the college laundry room.

Terry Brady says that he reported all this to you. As a result he was asked to leave The Irish College and the "perpetrators" were all kept on and many eventually ordained!

Sound familiar John? It's what's happening in Maynooth as we speak!

You left The Irish College in 2002 - 14 years ago. It seems there was a gay subculture problem then and it seems to have gotten worse in the Maynooth of 2016.

I wonder if that is because it was not properly addressed then and has become a bigger problem over the years.

You are now one of the Irish Bishops - collectively responsible for Maynooth - and presumably sending seminarians there - if you have any.

What are you going to do about it John?

Why have you not done more about it all over the years?

What are you doing about it now?

I would be grateful if you wrote back and gave me some answers.

Pat.

I WILL LET READERS KNOW ABOUT ANY REPLY I MIGHT GET - JUST DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH !

THE IRISH INDEPENDENT TODAY:

Bishop hits out as blog on ‘gay sex scandal’ deleted

BISHOP Pat Buckley has accused the Catholic Church of attempting to censor him after a blog, in which he revealed an alleged gay sex scandal, was temporarily deleted by Google.
Google later reinstated the blog, which had revealed details of the alleged gay sex scandal in Maynooth training college.
The site disappeared for 48 hours but was yesterday back up again, following media reports highlighting its removal in our sister newspaper, the ‘Belfast Telegraph’.
In recent weeks, the controversial Larne-based bishop made claims about students having profiles on the gay dating app, Grindr, and using the site to solicit sex with priests and laymen.
In an email to Bishop Buckley at the weekend, the Google-owned platform, Blogger, stated: “Your blog at wisecatholic.blogspot.com has been reviewed and confirmed as in violation of our terms of service for: HATE. In accordance to these terms, we’ve removed the blog.”
Shocked
However, Bishop Buckley’s blog was reinstated yesterday. Bishop Buckley said he was shocked when Google had accused him of spreading hate.
“As a gay man who lives with his husband, and as a cleric who has performed blessings for same-sex couples for 30 years, it was crazy to suggest that I hated gay people,” he said.
“I find it all rather mysterious that my blog is taken down without explanation and then is put back up without explanation,” he said. “I suspect that the blog got too hot...
“But representations were made on my behalf to Google in America and that, along with the issue being raised by the ‘Belfast Telegraph’, seems to have done the trick.”
He dismissed suggestions that his blog’s removal could have been down to “an administrative error” by Google. But, he added: “I am very happy to be back online.
“My blog had a quarter of a million page views last month alone.
“I started out with a few hundred readers and it has taken me years to build it up.”
Bishop Buckley pledged to “continue telling the truth about Maynooth and shining a light into the darkest corners of the church”.

  2. The man they couldn't hang. Are you changing your name to Bishop Wyatt Earp and are you calling out these pointy hatted hombres at high noon for a showdown. Termini Station Rome. I remember it well with all its hustle and bustle. Colleagues did point out to me that it was indeed a focal point for some of the seedier side of gay culture activities. that was in the early 80's. The laundry room in the Irish College does exist. In my day the only problem was getting the monstrosity of a washer to work and getting a gettoni (token) from Donato the immaculately dressed office receptionist at the time-noa italian noa token. Donato spoke as little english as possible. I believe the Bishops are sadly removed by choice or circumstances from the experiences of real life. At this point things may well become more emotive but as Mr Spock (Star Trek) might say only logic will serve the cause. Dr Who might like to remind the bishops that the Dalek cry of Resistance is futile will hinder not help the cause. Reminding all sides that Christianity is not a religion I would say don't forget the few prayers and allow the Holy Spirit to do his work. It is despicable and disgusting what these bishops are allowing to continue right under their own noses.

    1. The idea is, of course, preposterous. But I did wonder what this would be achieve, other than to reassure someone that seminarians don't have certain illnesses. Just because one may be merrily having sex, doesn't mean that one will automatically catch an STI (or STD, if you prefer). And what of all those who remain celibate? It's hardly a proportionate response to require everyone to undergo a test. Priests are allowed to keep some parts of their lives private.

    2. Is it really preposterous given that there is a Grindr pandemic in Maynooth?

  6. I am a priest myself. I do not know any of the persons involved in this scenario, but I have been following.
I wish to offer some general comments, from my own experience.
I myself am gay and celibate. When I look back on my first years of being a priest I see how immature I was, and the mistakes that I made. I cannot make excuses for them, but now I look back on my failures as very stupid, reckless and immature. Yes, I had been in the seminary all those years and should have known better, but I obviously did not. But I also know with the gift of years, good and healthy priest and lay friends, a solid spiritual director that I have come a long way. Growth, experience, and a lot of the infinite mercy of God.
Many like to quote Pope Francis when it suits them, but then avoid his radical message of the Mercy of God.
Nothing good can come writing about these individuals any further. It seems that the Mercy of God is for everyone else, except those who are being talked about on this forum daily.
I hope they work their issues out with good direction and counseling. I also hope that they get to experience the Mercy of God and find great joy in serving God in the priesthood, should God will it.

    1. You comment well.

However I'm sure that you do distinguish between human weakness and premeditated and institutionalised evil?

Any one of us can be foolish or weak and have a fall or falls.

But using Grindr for months and years to target people for promiscuous sex?

Being part of a gay subculture targeting fellow seminarians?

Being a priest quizzing seminarians about their erections and wet dreams?

      Lying.

Deliberately getting someone expelled from seminary to cover your own ass?

      Lying to your bishop?

God's mercy is for the weak who repent, change their ways and ask for forgiveness.

But is it to be used by a cynical mafia?

I do not think so !

    2. You talk about mercy - how about mercy being shown to guys who actually have a real vocation and desire to be holy, chaste, celibate and offer their lives to God as a living sacrifice for their flock. These guys expect to be formed by holy, wise, discerning priests who are full of the Holy Spirit.

It is genuine fellas like the above who are living in constant fear in "Gaynooth", whilst the dodgy guys who want to find their "true selves" are chaperoned to ordination. Let these guys who are on Grindr, for the love of God, get out of Maynooth and do what they like as a lay person in the world.

Priestly formation is not a vehicle for lads to find their true sexual identity/use aggressive sex-hunting apps/get drunk every other night of the week.

    3. Well said in reply, Pat. The subculture of Gaynoot is rotten to the core and the goons under scrutiny here are merciless, cruel, and sneeringly cynical.

    4. I used to work in the offices of a retail chain. There were proportionally more openly gay people than other offices. Some were in same sex relationship. No-one was at all bothered. All 700 people got on even though we had one or two odd characters. There was no secrecy, no lying, no ganging up or bullying. No sexual predators. Any kind of bad behavior was jumped on. Everyone felt secure and valued at work.
In the afternoon I worked on the desk at Catholic retreat house. None of the friars got on. No-one told the truth. So many dark secrets. The atmosphere was toxic. There was an air of menace about the place. I could see far better behaviour among the teenagers in the retail office.
Has the church had so much power and been so sealed in on itself that it has turned bad? Does it think it is accountable to no-one?
The laity are not naive and very soon they will turn and demand better management from the bishops.

    5. Anon 14:38 quotes Pope Francis on mercy. This Pope also said the below:

“Augustine quotes this prophetic phrase in the De pastoribus, which I advise you to read and meditate on. Woe to bad shepherds because the seminary is not a refuge for the many shortcomings we may have; it is not a refuge for psychological problems or a refuge for those who do not have the courage to go on in life and see the seminary as a place that will defend them. No, that is not what it is. If that is what your seminary was it would become a mortgage for the Church! No, the seminary is there for people to move forward, along this path and when we hear the prophets exclaim the word “Woe” it should lead you to reflect seriously on your future. Pius XI once said it was better to lose a vocation than to risk accepting a candidate who is not sure. He was a mountain climber, he knew about this things.”

    6. Another quote from Pope Francis:

The seminary is a place where one develops their vocation, gaining an in depth understanding of the Gospel, Confession, the Eucharist and prayer.

I'm sure Timo's phone was very busy receiving congratulatory calls and messages after this further coup. "I tell ye, Timo, yer some man y'ar! The Wounded Healer and now ye have finished off Buckley. There'll be a nice mitre winging its way your direction any day now".

Rather than deal with the disgusting spectacle, they attempted to shoot the messenger and, instead, shot themselves!

For what they actually achieved was greater publicity for Pat's blog site via the Irish Independent, the Belfast Telegraph, etc. Now people reading will be wondering 'exactly just what information are they trying to suppress?'

Thus, the readers of this blog will increase and more and more people will learn of the shambles that is the Catholic Church in Ireland: Gaynooth, Grindr, the selfie boys, nosey "Formators", Hugh "the-dog-ate-me-homework" Cowboy Connolly, etc.

Yes, thousands and thousands more people will tune in and will learn about the victims of this appalling scandal.

AND - lots more people will be left wondering - Are there bishops who are also sexually compromised and who are they????

  12. Canon 277 s1 states: "Clerics of the Latin rite (deacons, priests, bishops - excluding those with dispensation due to marriage) are obliged to observe perfect and perpetual continence for the sake of the kingdom of heaven and therefore are bound to celibacy, which is a special 'gift' from God".

One now enters the clerical state by reception to the diaconate. Can 266

Obligation to a chaste life for a seminarian is presumed, a presumed moral compass taught by the Churvh towards all the Faithful.

Maybe those in the clerical state should practice what they preach!

  28. This is not intended as an attack on your blog, nor is it intended to make light of any actions or behaviours mentioned. In the Gospel account of the woman who was to he stoned to death Jesus makes a point of teaching the principles of forgiveness. In this account Jesus famously exhorts those present to begin to stone this woman if they are without sin. Importantly, he neither condemns the woman who was to he stoned, nor does he condemn those who were prepared to end her life. The message of Jesus, who is God, is a message of unconditional Love. He also exhorts the woman to sin no more. He does this gently, since He is the Good Shepherd, who came into the world that we might he saved. 'Love one another'.

At the same time, I do not believe Our Lord would allow profoundly immature men, lost in an ecstasy of narcissism, hedonism and promiscuity, to enter the sacred ministry of His Church.

He would tell them gently to sin no more but He would firmly prohibit them from being ordained.

There are men called by God and there are men who are "called" by themselves.

"Not all good-looking guys get married. Some of them become priests!" - said the slogan with a "hentai" stylised "priest".

      REALLY???

This is symptomatic of an infantile narcissism. It renders a man unfit for ordination. To ordain such an immature individual is always disastrous.

  31. The cowardly, non-judgmental approach you are adopting anon 00:13 allowed too many weak, vulnerable people be abused with impunity by very manipulative, deceptive clergy for far too long. It also helped to excuse and assuage the consciences of people who had the power and knowledge to stop the abuse, but chose to do nothing out of selfish instincts of self-preservation and love of comfort.

Read Jesus' below words, which he aimed at the corrupt clerical caste of his time. Many of His statements could be applied to the current hypocritical and outrageous state of affairs in Maynooth:

13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. 14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

16 “Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.’ 17 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? 18 And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.’ 19 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? 20 Therefore he who swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. 21 He who swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwells in it. 22 And he who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it.

23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 24 Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence.26 Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.

27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. 28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, 30 and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’ (Matt 23:13-30)
