A well placed source who has provided this Blog with totally accurate information in the past has sent in the following piece:
"There is a lay lecturer in Maynooth University XXXXX XXXXX who is very active on the Maynooth Gay scene. He is VERY promiscuous and has bragged about meeting seminarians in the past. Mister XXXXX is a member of the XXXXXX Department.
Last year XXXXX bullied an undergraduate student he had met from Grindr. Michael Byrne's 'friend' became aware of this and threatened to reveal it to XXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX head of the XXXXXX department.
However, XXXXX was aware of Byrne and his friends relationship and called his bluff. Its a very complicated web. but whats emerging VERY CLEARLY is a web of cover-up that seeps into every corner of Maynooth. Many Theology students also study XXXXXX and therefore XXXXX has access to what are essentially PONTIFICAL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS".

As we see from this Maynooth seminarians are not only on Grindr and having gay sex with each other - but they are using Grindr to connect with non seminarians for the purpose of gay sex.
Some of these people are lay staff members of Maynooth University and some are lay students of Maynooth Unbiversity.
Then, when these sexually active gay seminarians they are going out into parishes where they are even less supervised and having sex with people they meet on Grindr - and occasionally parishioners of their own.
Every diocese in Ireland has a largish number of sexually active priests - both gay and straight.
They reek havock and leave a trail of destruction behind them.
FATHER EAMON O'BRIEN - DOWN AND CONNOR:
Today in Newtownards in Co. Down the clergy of Down and Connor will have a funeral service for one of their own - Fr Eamon O'Brien.
I wish Eamon O'Brien no ill and he has now appeared before Almighty God and has received what we will all receive - that Divine mixture of Justice and Mercy.
Eamon O'Brien was as heterosexual a priest as you would get - but sadly he was a total womaniser and he has left quite a number of victims behind - who are still traumatised and who will never get closure.
Like EAMON CASEY and MICHAEL CLEARY Eamon was all show. Even his Masses were performances. When he gave eulogies at the funerals of other priests the sermon was just a string of clerical anecdotes about fine dinners, golfing, horse racing, gambling and nights spent drinking until dawn.
He was into horse racing and he liked to buy his suits in Saville Row in London.
He preceded me as a curate in the parish of Larne and there he started up a Light Opera Society which used to put on shows at the Waterford Light Opera Festival every year.

He preceded me as a curate in the parish of Larne and there he started up a Light Opera Society which used to put on shows at the Waterford Light Opera Festival every year.
One of his woman victims finally got the courage to report him to the Bishop of Down and Connor at the time - Patrick Walsh. Eamon O'Brien had to retire early but he kept his diocesan "faculties" and was allowed to travel around doing the weddings and funerals of family and friends. All of those occasions were new episodes of The Eamon O'Brien Show.
Abraham Lincoln said:
You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
Eamon O'Brien came as near I've seen anyone to fooling all of the people all of the time.
He is now gone. His fellow priests and his family and friends will be raising a toast to the "best priest that ever lived".
But in lonely sitting rooms and bedrooms around the Diocese of Down and Connor will be a small number of women who had the misfortune to meet with and suffer at the hands of the real Eamon O'Brien.
They say we should never speak ill of the dead?
But my thoughts and prayers today are with those women who remember Eamon O'Brien with bitter tears and heartache.
It sometimes does make you wonder where God is.
But when I think that I recall this little verse:
Goodness always on the scaffold;
Evil always on the throne.
But God stands within the shadows;
Keeping watch upon his own.

IRISH TRAVELLER WEDDING AT THE ORATORY, LARNE, YESTERDAY
Words of Jesus to Venerable Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres:
ReplyDelete"Know, moreover, that Divine Justice releases terrible chastisements on entire nations, not only for the sins of the people, but for those of priests and religious persons. For the latter are called, by the perfection of their state, to be the salt of the earth, the masters of truth, and the deflectors of Divine Wrath. Straying from their divine mission, they degrade themselves in such a way that, before the eyes of God they quicken the rigor of the punishments..." (During the 41 years of St. John Vianney's ministry at Ars, France, no damage was ever done by storms.)
Oh would priests know their responsibility and dignity! (My words)
As a priest of Down and Connor who will not be at the funeral I can attest to the truth of Pat's words. I know one of his victims. I'm just sorry it never went to court. EOB was one of a terrible "gang" of priests in this diocese.
DeleteAll the same, this "revelation" could have waited for a day or two.
DeleteYes. Let us be sensitive to the dead and tell the living to pull themselves together.
DeleteDeath is the great liberator. One can say what one likes when a person dies. Is there any come back in retrospect for these ladies
ReplyDeleteHis death has somehow reopened their wounds.
DeleteBut the Diocese of Down and Connor can now sigh with relief and close another file.
These ladies are not files. Where is social conscience at on the green island? I always felt many were half asleep
ReplyDeletePat, to be fair I think you need to leave Michael alone now. You exposed his alleged actions. What your doing now is nothing short of bullying. Leave it to his bishop now to investigate.
ReplyDeleteRedemption is possible for all. Keeping the attention focused on him is totally unchristian. Christ would not stand there and throw a stone at michael, but he would encourage him to repent and to trust in his mercy. Please leave him alone now. All this attention is not good for anyone.
I'm afraid that Michael is at the very centre of a web that involves seminarians, Maynooth lay students, priests and Grindr.
DeleteHe is a very manipulative young man.
His ecclesiastical future is now in the hands of Diarmuid Martin whom he meets next week.
I hope he tells Diarmuid the whole truth.
I agree too. I feel you have been especially hard on him. In my humble opinion there seems to be a smear campaign going on against him. The guy seems to be truthful with regard to his sexuality which I find admirable but this has clearly left him open to ridicule. It does not help that he is good looking so maybe he gets a lot of unwanted attention from jealous people who want to keep the eye off themselves and point fingers at him?
DeletePat, the above seminarian is not capable of telling the truth. The bishops have known for a long time who are the sexually active seminarians in Maynooth; this was reported to them by the anonymous letters months ago. Seminarians do not trust any of the bishops, Diarmuid Martin included, and are reduced to sending anonymous letters as a result.
DeleteThe bishops are all either politicians or weaklings. I also feel that Diarmuid Martin's withdrawal of his seminarians from Maynooth is just a publicity stunt in order to save his reputation with the media. The bishops have known for months that this scandal was coming and could hit the mainstream media at any time.
If they really care about the formation and welfare of their seminarians, Maynooth needs to be shut down immediately.
Some bishops must have large rockeries
ReplyDeleteI am sure that Deacon Michael will use all his manipulative skills to lie his way through his interview with ++DM. He will even bat his eyelids at the Archbishop in the hope of fooling him. This 'pretty boy' has used this modus operandi all his life, I'm sure. He will not change now.
ReplyDeleteDeacon Michael should be sent away for a good long time to live out his life in the real world for a number of years, and then - perhaps - return as a more mature man to test his vocation again. That is not being cruel to him, or bullying him, but simply recognising that at present he is simply not suited to take on the responsibility of priesthood and ministry. Being kind to him by letting him continue as in the past is simply not going to do any good for him or for the Church. Tough love is required. And, this applies to all those caught up in this nonsense. There should be radical pruning, for their good and for the Church's good. ++DM needs to toughen up and apply some muscle to this situation and to these individuals. He needs to take responsibility and do what is right for the Church, as well as for the individuals concerned as outlined above.
I haven't a clue who Fr O'Brien RIP of D&C was. He sounds like an archetype of priest who uses his power and influence to please himself, irrespective of the damage done to others. If only his Bishop in years past had taken responsibility and dealt with him robustly rather than just allowing him to continue in his ways and protecting him. Just as Bishops are now being held accountable for protecting priests in the past in respect of abuse of children, so Bishops should be held accountable for protecting / excusing priests who use their position, power and influence to take advantage of the flock. If + Walsh allowed this to continue, then he should be held accountable, as well as the perpetrator.
There are still elements of the 'clergy club' around. Clergy / bishops protect and look after each other. Whereas their first responsibility should be to those who have been entrusted to their care.
Let's hope that ++DM will break the cycle and deal robustly, responsibly and fearlessly with the situation facing him. And he should start with Deacon Michael Byrne.
We will have to wait and see if DM is taken in by the fluttering of jet black eyelids and the smell of Jean Paul Gautier pour Homme.
DeleteWE can also judge DM by his actions in relation to Brough, O'Reilly and Derwin et al.
DeleteJust leave Michael alone! Where is all your evidence in all this about him and his friend? If you had any sense you would remove all this stuff. He has done nothing wrong. People are just jealous of him. He's a good guy, I'm a great friend of his and I can vouch if any of you had a friend like him you would be jealous as he's a great guy!! Just leave him alone. It's actually got to the point that it's boring to read about as it's all lies. You are feeding from
ReplyDeleteother people that are purposely out to get Michael. If he wants he will be ordained, because he's a good guy and this is all bull shit. Where's your evidence Buckely? Cut your shit and continue with your fake weddings! I hope you told them Irish travellers that they aren't married in the Catholic Church and that it's not valid within the church?? Just checking
Buckley. You are losing a lot of friends with this blog. We like Mikey and we used to like you.
DeleteI know a lot of you like mickey.
DeleteMaybe I should have sent the Travellers to Canon O'Reilly or to Frs Brough or Derwin?
DeleteCannon O'Reilly will be respected more than you ever will be Buckley. At least he's actually ordained and not excommunicated. You just remember only for poor Cathal Daly (May God rest him) you would be in a card board box. You just remember that.
DeleteMaybe its time to fire the "Cannon" (sic)?? LOL
DeleteMaynooth reopens tomorrow with the intake of new seminarians. Will VAMA be staging a protest? I'd suggest something at the main gate. Not sure what time would be best. I'd say a lot of lay people will turn out if we know when and where.
ReplyDeleteI don't know Michael Byrne personally but I have friends who do know him and they speak highly of him (Both lay and clerics). I think you should remove this post as its just hearsay!!! I congratulate Deacon Michael on being ordained deacon and wish him well in his future ministry in the one and true Holy Roman Catholic Church
ReplyDelete- 'the gates of hell shall not prevail against it'
The Gates of Hell are inside it :-)
DeletePope Benedict - "The smoke of Satan has entered the Church".
And Pope Benedict facilitated its entry.
DeleteWe all know the truth about Byrne, Jones, McElroy, Marshall etc. They are lying two-faced active homosexuals and are ripping apart the seminary.
ReplyDeleteCurrent Seminarian.
And they all love mickey :-)
DeleteI think you should challenge one of them Current Seminarian. Let us know how you get on?
DeleteWe all know what happens to anyone who challenges the sub-culture in Gaynooth...
DeleteEamonn "Tootsie" O'Brien is now in the hands of Almighty God. May the Lord have mercy on his soul.
ReplyDeleteFantasizing may be ok if it is not someone I have looked upon or know. I avoid paying attention to people who are so certain it is sin. They may have the privilege of being married. Personally I grew up having a pornography addiction. I have found that masturbation and of course the Lord in my life has helped to avoid that. In the Bible it says that married couples should fast from sex now and then but not for too long as it may lead to temptation. So what is the single person going to do when they are tempted. If the married couple needs an out would not the single person also?
ReplyDelete"For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others-and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it." (Matt 19:12)
DeleteIn relation to celibacy, Christ Himself lived this way along with St. Paul, St John the Baptist, St Joseph and Our Blessed Lady. As for chastity, we are all called to live that virtue, which is possible with the grace of God. As you can clearly see from the above, Jesus does not force celibacy on anyone, it is freely chosen by the individual who wants to sacrifice the married state in order to be free to devote themselves completely to spreading the Gospel. Christ also said:
"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (5:28)
God has given us all a natural, healthy outlet through wet-dreams. Masturbation and pornography are sinful habits which, again, can be broken with prayer, regular confession and reception of the Eucharist, devotion to Our Lady and vigilance.
Everything is possible for the grace of God!
Mary wasn't celibate she had a load of other kids apart from jesus
DeleteAnonymous at 17:50 - stop talking rubbish.
DeleteSo I'm talking rubbish ? . What is it with catholics and Mary mother of jesus ? First of all she was not a Catholic she was a jew . She was married she had sex with her husband she had kids abs many of them as was her duty as a Jewish wife . If you believe she was a virgin when she conceived jesus then that's fine but only a dumb ass fool would believe she stayed a virgin . There is evidence in the bible that mary had other children apart from jesus . I totaly believe she is blessed among woman but she was a woman nothing more
DeleteHow many are entering Maynooth this year?...
ReplyDelete24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
ReplyDelete26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. (Rom 1:24-27)
Maynooth is rotten because they don't pray nor worship God. Simple. They worship themselves and their own selfish lusts.
Pat,
ReplyDeleteWith reference to the death of Fr Eamonn O'Brien, I can confirm that it was widely speculated at the time that he had been told to retire early - a healthy active PP in his 60s does not suddenly retire.
Very sadly he used women, 2 of whom I have met over the course of my ministry. When he moved parish he almost invariably found himself a new female. He was in this respect, and other ways, a classic narcissist. ( A person who is inordinately concerned with themselves, their outward appearance, and giving a good impression to everyone) Narcissists care very little for the feelings of others, because they are concerned almost exclusively with their own needs, feelings etc.
A narcissist never reveals their true self, but rather a self that will impress others. They also have a great sense of entitlement. ie Everyone is here to do their bidding and fulfill their wishes. The women he used sadly thought they were special to him ; they weren't !! He took what he wanted and then left them, moved on, and found another victim.
A truly tragic story, few if any in the lay congregation at Newtownards, would have been privy to today.
However the same ignorance could not be applied to Bishop Patrick Walsh, nor my fellow D&C priests, present at today's Requiem Mass.
Thankfully I was unable to attend in person, because of parish commitments.
Priest of Down & Connor.
Clerical life is very attractive to narcissistic men and conducive to narcissism.
DeleteSadly, there are lot of narcissists in the priesthood which, paradoxically, should be about selfless service of God and others.
Self-love, self-centredness, self-serving ambition, worship of self, egotism, hedonism, self-seeking, addiction to power, rampant and exploitative sexual acting up and acting out - such sinful traits are the ANTITHESES of true priestly life and ministry.
Priests, who display these vices, wreak havoc in the Church.
Seminarians, who are living lives full of these unChrist-like attributes, will only become more unlike Christ, after Ordination.
They will ruin parishes and peoples' lives.
"Enter in by the narrow door", says Our Lord in this Sunday's Gospel. That means dying to self and killing your ego. As St Paul puts it: "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts" (Gal 5:24).
Bishop Walsh said at the funeral that he retired for health reasons and that his early retirement was a great loss to the diocese. A touch of the mental reservation perhaps?
DeleteYes. It was Walsh that "retired" him and Farquhar (who was missing today" delivered the "retirement" letter - after Walsh had met some victims.
DeleteBut the last thing the BOYS do for the BOYS is to give them a good sending off.
Pat, There was a great story which used to do the rounds about Tootsie O Brien's PP down in Larne. Can't remember if it was Big Joe Murphy or Sean O Neill. But when asked how were things down in Larne he answered that he needed eyes in the back of his head trying to keep Sylvester McGrady away from the boys and Tootsie away from the women!
ReplyDeleteSuch was the lot of the old D&C PPs
Retired D&C
Very funny - but also true :-)
DeletePat, I'm sure you won't publish my comment but I think that all the comments you have written about Deacon Michael Byrne are as a result of your fascination with him. He's a sexy looking guy in my opinion and I believe that you, like many of us on this blog, would love to **** him. Yes, he's done wrong by breaking his vow of celibacy and +DM needs to sort things out with him but your hounding of him is more about your attraction to him than your repulsion of him.
ReplyDeleteYou are wrong on 2 counts - I am publishing your comment and I am not fascinated by him.
DeleteBy nature I'm wired to "make love" and not to "f***".
Of course he outwardly goodlooking but what about inner beauty?
I'm afraid if he is ordained he will be a Jack the Lad and use and hurt many.
Thanks for publishing Pat, but nowhere did I suggest f***! It is yourself who added the 'f' to my 4 ****! So yes, that prove my point - you, like many of us are attracted to Michael Byrne.
DeleteThere was a rumour which persisted for a while that Tootsie O Brien was financed in retirement by one of his lovers. A schoolteacher from Ballycastle area, I believe.
ReplyDeleteI also know he had another generous lady friend from Banbridge. I know of her because she was a relative of my late wife. She confided in my wife after O'Brien dumped her.She was in an awful state.
She actually went to his house ( think he lived about Glenavy/Crumlin area) to confront him about his shabby behaviour.
Great priest indeed.
Many people who know Michael know that he has inner beauty and that he is a very good man. He is a kind hearted individual and it saddens me to see him constantly put on this site for seminarians/others to comment on him. It is easy to hide behind a keyboard and judge. It seems he has been far more honest with his superiors than most of you 'men' will ever be! What upsets me is that seminarians who call themselves christian do this to him. These men think God is calling them? No...God calls men that don't turn to idle gossip and slander about others on anonymous blogs.
ReplyDeleteMay God forgive you for the division that you cause.
Dublin Parishioner Joe.
Its not me dividing Maynooth. Have not been in it for 30 years.
DeletePerhaps Bishop Walsh was exhibiting some early signs of Alzheimer's during the Requiem Mass today in Co. Down.
ReplyDeleteHe's not fooling anyone !
Perhaps he's hoping Bishop Treanor will do a similar "whitewash job" when Bishop Walsh is the deceased cleric.
Priest of D&C,
Of course he will. Its the final cover up they get.
DeleteI can think of a few aging clerics in D&C who may be hoping Bishop Walsh will still be around when they "pop their clogs", so that he can use his selective memory technique to describe their Diocesan 'careers'.
ReplyDeletePerhaps as Jesus suggested, 'let the spiritually dead bury the dead ' , is what we witnessed in Newtownards today.
LUX.
Indeed, Lux. And what a rancid and rotting old spiritual corpse is the carcass of Patsy Walsh.
DeleteTootsie was part of a Jack-the-Lad clerical club in D&C. To them, women are jizz rags.
The other side of this coin are the gay crew. Their number has made Tootsie's crowd a minority now. They have been recruiting well.
There are a number of decent priests; but, my God, what a shambles, what a sham.
Ref Blog entry of 17:41.
ReplyDeleteI trust the lady who visited Fr O'Brien in the Crumlin / Glenavy area did not disturb him at prayer.
Women can be so troublesome to Priests.
Fr X
Pat,
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned you have not been in Maynooth for 30yrs.
Perhaps you might consider making a Pastoral visit in the Autumn ?
LUX.
Thats an idea.
DeleteBishop Walsh offered apologies for Bishop Farquhar's absence in Newtownards today, explaining that Bishop F was in Scotland for the Dundee United v Ayr Utd match. (Dundee won 3-0)
ReplyDeleteAs we know nothing comes between Bishop F and his football allegiances.
I hope he'll b able to say a few words at Fr O'Brien's months mind Mass.
Una Voce.
Would it interest you to know and bring a smile to your face if I told you that I overheard a number of the clergy discussing your blog in hushed tones at Eamon's funeral today. They seemed to be enjoying the disruption you are causing.
ReplyDeleteWhen I looked around St Pats in Ards today I was expecting to see 3 or 4 rows filled with ladies in deepest black mourning the old lothario. I was disappointed. Perhaps they couldn't stand the pain of a second "Goodbye" having endured the distress of their first parting when Eamon bid them farewell.
I know he was an out and out rascal but I liked him.
Priest D&C
It does interest me and make me smile.
DeleteI can appreciate a rascal too - but not really ones that leave devastation behind.
let go and let god.
ReplyDeleteI notice you only post what suits you, why are you withholding people's names? Like your man who is married who had a problem with a Maynooth staff member. Like all those "xxxxx"'s you do not seem to have a problem naming seminarians, deacons, priests and bishops. Why? Is it because of sour grapes? Because they are Catholic, in good standing, and being named anonymously, knowing they can not defend themselves against un named commentators, who won't even give their name , but then again you could be writing all those comments yourself just to fuel your hatred and satanic blog ... And yes this comment also comes from an anonymous person
ReplyDeleteAre you still a member of MENSA?
Delete"Catholics in good standing" - there are many of those nominally speaking; Pat Buckley, though, is far more Catholic than some of the seminarians and priests mentioned on this blog. He doesn't hide behind a veil of hypocrisy, lies and deception.
DeleteThese seminarians and priests who post half-naked, sailor- suit-outfit pictures of themselves and try to befriend underage men on Grindr need to get a grip and cop themselves the hell on. They are not fit to be representatives of Christ.
The above speaks volumes about the joke that is the formation process in Maynooth. The numbers speak for themselves - "Gaynooth" is withering away of its own accord. Now its obituary is soon to be written.
Why was +Walsh doing the funeral - he didn't at all look fit at +Edward Daly's funeral? plus was +Noel there?
ReplyDeleteRead about Noel's whereabouts on tomorrows blog :-)
