AMY'S HISSY FIT?

OUR REGULAR ARMAGH PRIEST CONTACT got in touch with me by telephone yesterday afternoon to draw my attention that the Magherafelt Parish Webcam is not working and that the Parish Bulletin for November 20 is, unusually, not on line.

Father was just wondering if Archbishop Amy has had a hissy fit about Father McAnerney's daughter being on the webcam reading a poem and paying tribute to her Dad. And, was there  some reference to the matter in the missing internet parish bulletin.

Apparently Amy was not very happy with THE IRISH NEWS newspaper running the story - a story they probably picked up from our Blog.

THE daughter of a priest delivered a poem at the arrival of his remains to a Co Derry church following his death.
Fr Arthur (Arty) McAnerney's daughter DÊarbhla is understood to have been invited to speak at a Mass for her father at the Church Of Our Lady Of The Assumption, Magherafelt.
Fr McAnerney died in hospital on Tuesday and his remains were brought to the church that evening where it is believed his daughter was asked up to the altar by parish priest Fr John Gates.
It is believed she read a poem at the end of the service and thanked people for the kindness towards her father, who was aged in his late 70s.
News that the priest had a daughter was first revealed almost 20 years ago when he admitted from the altar that he had fathered a child.
Parishioners at Church of the Immaculate Conception in Beragh, Co Tyrone applauded his sensational statement in November 1998.
Fr McAnerney is understood to have become involved in a relationship with a woman when he worked in Drogheda in the 1980s and fathered the child. He was later moved to Beragh.
He told parishioners that everyone who "had a right to know" already knew about the situation, but he felt he had to speak to parishioners following revelations in a newspaper.
He described at the time that he intended continuing his ministry and said: "I made the choice to remain a priest. People have been very understanding and supportive and I hope this will not make any difference".
The priest said he had tried his best to look after the child and her mother out of his own resources.
Fr McAnerney took on many high-profile role throughout his ministry, including comforting the relatives of those killed and injured in the Omagh bombing. He took part in the funerals of three generations of one family killed in the atrocity - Mary Grimes (65), her daughter Avril Monaghan (30) and toddler Maura.
He was also celebrant at the funeral of murdered PSNI officer Ronan Kerr, when he was parish priest in Beragh.
Prior to his death, Fr McAnerney served in the Magherafelt and Castledawson parish. He was also school chaplain at St Pius X College, Magherafelt and New Row Primary School, Castledawson.
His death was announced on the Magherafelt Parish Centre's Facebook page and drew hundreds of tributes for parishioners who described him as a "lovely gentleman" and a "genuinely great man".
His funeral mass was held at St Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh on Thursday followed by burial in St Patrick's Cemetery.

Amy is very particular about dirty linen being washed in public. For instance he insists on driving his own "smalls" and even his pallium straight to the Bogside in Derry to be washed by his Mammy.

AN ARCHBISHOP'S SMALLS BY GAMMARELLI OF ROME

The Irish News is supposed to be a Catholic newspaper. Its motto is: "FAITH AND FATHERLAND".

So why did this Catholic newspaper print an article about Father's death and his daughter being allowed into the sanctuary to read poems and pay tributes.

God be with the days when Lisbreen - the Bishop's House in Belfast and ARA COELI the archbishop's house in Armagh used to be able to tell the editor of The Irish News what to publish and what not to publish.

In any event Amy, you need to get over your little hissy fit and allow the webcam and parish bulletin of Magherafelt to go back on line immediately.

If you keep going like this you will end up with a reputation like Father Brendan Mulhall who has taken the Turf Lodge webcam away.

And I hope you are not going to punish poor Father Gates - the PP of Magherafelt for the way he handled the reception of Father McAnerney remains.

FATHER JOHN GATES - PRAISED

In the view of this Blog and many others he handled the Elephant in the room much better than you did !

AND AMY:

What is this comment from a farmer in your diocese about?

"Let us just say that I wont be sending my son to anymore world youth days after the last one in Poland. It will be his first and last and also any youth events. He was scunderd by the carry on and behaviour of some of the young Armagh priests including that tall one at the Cathedral.

What sticks in my throat is the amount of money me and my wife spent to send him there. I am not saying it was abuse or anything dirty but it was just their oul carry on and behaviour. That picture of the bishop in sunglasses and baseball cap at the same place sums it up. When I saw that picture I was raging and brought it back to me what my son saw. He was not going to tell us anything about it when he came back but I dragged it out of him. We have stopped going to chapel and I am still thinking about writing to that oul bishop in sunglasses but I don't think his type will listen to a halion farmer like me".

I'm sure Amy will not answer us. Maybe the farmer could expand? I presume he means dressing in jeans and tea shirts and being one of the KOOL lads about town.

PS: By the way this Blog had over 500 views per day from Krakow during World Youth Day there and very few since it ended.

  1. Is it not just as likely that the person who uploads the bulletin just hasn't got to it yet? And that the webcam, like they do on a frequent basis, is just having some technical issues?

    1. And BOTH happen in the wake of Hurricane Derbhala?

And Amys poodle bitch wandered away and came back pregnant. And the toilet got blocked in Ara Coeli. And Amys Mammy's chimney went on fire in the bogside. And Amys housekeeper lost a nail in the meat slicer.

      Of course. All coincidence.

  3. Amy is certainly notching up her scandals. First GrindrRory. Then Gaynooth. Now Derbhala.

To paraphrase Lady Bracknell: "To lose one priest is an .......but to lose two.....

How many more wheels are going to come off Amys wagon?

  4. Pat,

FYI - webcam in Magherafelt is working fine at the minute. Sometimes a second button for either Apple or Android needs to be selected to see the image if it does not appear automatically. Maybe that was it, I'm not sure.

  8. Pat give the young priests a break. They are mostly gay and just finding out about them selves in stages. On the other hand their bishops all gay and propagating denial.

  9. Did you try getting in touch with Derhbala? I'm sure if she's been offended or left out that she'd willingly share that with you Pat. That would clear up all the confusion! Just a thought.

  10. It seems very interesting to me that people are making excuses for the Magherafelt parish webcam being taken down. It is not a technical fault and for the person who said that all MCN media cameras are down is totally untrue. Just look at the Magherafelt neighbouring parish in Cookstown's webcam - up and running as I speak clearly and perfectly. Magherafelt webcam is still down. I rest my case.

  12. I'm Surprised to see Iggy O' Donovan now being a reg contributor in the comment section , maybe he has some news on Meath St Parish Scandals ..He was appointed there some years ago - one wonders did he hear anything ?- reporters were storming the local pubs and Parochial House seeking information about recent Jihadi bomber [From Dublin] who was an actual former alter boy - was it the incense rising that may have congested the poor mans thinking or was he just another abused alter boy? 13. Pat, does the Armagh Priest actually exist? If he does then he seems to be passing you on a lot of inside info. Some priests today have been accused by fellow priests in Armagh of being the culprit. Its causing great animosity and one person has been put in the frame. The person that has been put in the frame has removed himself from all social media today.

  15. The TV streaming in Cookstown parish is being provided by "Church Services TV" not MCN media. Two different servers. MCN media provides TV coverage for many churches both here and in the USA as well. They are all down.

  16. Sorry for the missing comment. It was to say that some of the Priests in your photo from Krakow were referring to each other with girls names, whats that all about? This was overheard by young people and commented on because I was in Krakow at the time. If that was not bad enough they slagged their own Armagh Bishop with a girls name and fell about screeching with regards to his Mother with totally unsavoury jokes about her. This was also heard by some young people and I was equally appalled because the youth were discussing it. These are just a few examples of much bad behaviour by some of those priests in your photograph. I sm not surprised that the farmer wont be sending his Son back to world youth day, God knows what the boy heard or saw. I am with the farmer on that one. They said they dont go to Church anymore because of it - I dont blame them.

  21. Pat that's bad form putting pictures up of priests and then allowing unnamed accusations to be levelled against them in the comments. I know a few of them and they're some of the most genuine, hardworking young priests you'll ever meet!

I'd be very careful about the comments being made and those making them, the bitches haven't gone away just yet! The residents of Gaynooth and their enablers will still use any opportunity they can to deflect attention!

  23. I am sorry Pat Buckley that I don't agree with you on many things. I read your blog occasionally and I have dipped into it today. I have been harsh about you, but what I do agree entirely with you is that you do not put up with anyone speaking ill of your mother. For a priest to make jokes and laugh and make ill of your mother is the lowest of the low. Where I come from you don't do that and for a priest to mock an old lady - respect flies out the window.

  24. Before entering novitiate St Therese of Lisiuex went on a diocesan pilgrimage with her father to Rome, along with priests of the diocese who accompanied the pilgrims. It opened her eyes to the weaknesses of priests and this strengthened her resolve to pray for them. Things have probably deteriorated even more since then.

  25. Tommy was very gay Maynooth. Part of the pink circle; spent most evenings in LO'DB's room until the late hours. I can't say they broke any chastity, but they were a group and were as gay as they come in the giggling girlie sense. They pretty much ran the place for a while and if you weren't gay they left it be known that you weren't welcome in Maynooth. It was all about dressing up for them.

    1. I am not surprised one bit by what you say. Armagh seems to have a particular problem with some of its younger clergy being part of a pink circle from Maynooth. By the way, he is still giggling away like a little girlie.
