EARTHQUAKES FOR GAYS
Italy's recent spate of devastating earthquakes is
'divine punishment' for gay marriage, claims hardline priest

Priest said seismic shocks were 'punishment' for
same-sex partnerships

Father Giovanni Cavalcoli said they had 'offended
the family and marriage'

The Vatican has hit out at the comments and
criticised the hardline priest
An Italian priest has
blamed the country's earthquakes, which have killed hundreds and left thousands
homeless, on gay civil partnerships.
Father Giovanni
Cavalcoli said the seismic shocks were 'divine punishment' for same-sex civil
unions 'offending the family' and the 'dignity of marriage'.
He made the comments
on the day central Italy was struck by a 6.6-magnitude quake - the most
powerful to hit the country in 36 years.
Father Giovanni
Cavalcoli (pictured) said the seismic shocks were 'divine punishment' for
same-sex civil unions 'offending the family' and the 'dignity of marriage' The radio station he
aired the controversial views on last week, Radio Maria, distanced itself from
the comments

Archbishop Angelo
Becciu, number two in the Vatican's powerful Secretariat of State, said
Cavalcoli's comments were 'offensive to believers and disgraceful for
non-believers'.
The Vatican has hit
out at the comments, saying the idea of a vengeful God was 'a pagan vision'
dating from 'the pre-Christian era' (Pope Francis pictured in Amatrice
last month)
Becciu asked for
forgiveness from quake victims and reminded them they had the 'solidarity and
support' of Pope Francis.
But Cavalcoli hasn't
backed down. He insisted on another radio station that earthquakes were indeed
caused by 'the sins of man' and told the Vatican to 'read their catechism'.
Legislation in Italy
allowing gay civil partnerships was brought in last month, making it the last
country in Western Europe to legally recognise same-sex relationships.
PAT SAYS:
What kind of God would send earthquakes upon a country because that country introduced CIVIL legislation that does NOT AFFECT religions in anyway?
What kind of God would destroy the convents of nuns who had given their lives to him to punish a country for legislation?
I'm afraid this poor priest believes in a very strange God indeed.

THE MULHALL PROBLEM
The following comment arrived overnight with regard the MULHALL PROBLEM:
Holy Trinity has now been removed from the list of available Churches on the Church Services TV web site.
You are dealing with an extremely willful and highly driven mad man in BM.
His sheer disregard and utter contempt for people is astonishing.
Either the man is very unwell or extremely evil.
Either way, it is unsafe, to say the least, for him to be in charge of a parish.
AS I SAID I WILL BE VISITING TURF LODGE IN THE COMING DAYS.
ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO MEET ME WHEN I AM THERE CAN CONTACT ME ON:

As regards Mulhall, it's a case of "our name is Legion for we are many".
ReplyDeleteWhoever was in charge during his novitiate, whoever it was who allowed him to be ordained, deserves to be excommunicated.
The idiot who allowed that man to proceed unimpeded through his "formation" has done the Church a great wrong.
It is a comment on the corruption of the modern day Redemptorist Congregation.
The true priests of that order, who served Clonard and the people who are the forbears of the present day parishioners of Holy Trinity, must be looking down aghast from above, at what has happened to the family of St Alohonsus. Let's hope that their prayers prevail over this current morass.
as the person who released pucks photograph (which uncovered the maynooth crisis - pat has my email), I am currently holding Maynooth university to ransom and a specific department at that. I have released pockets of info to this blog and in good time I will open pandoras box and unleash a scandal that will ROCK both universities and I assure you ASSURE YOU!!! it will cause mass resignations. to those of you reading this who are well aware of what I mean; clear out your desks!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't believe you. Prove it.
DeleteIt's..beginning...to look a lot like Christmas....;)
DeleteSo yet again natural disasters are the fault of gays . I wonder what punishment is coming for pedophile priests? an asteroid the size of the Vatican landing on the Vatican ? . Mind you I'm not sure if that would be called punishment or progress
ReplyDeleteThe best form of protest at Holy Trinity is the withholding of the weekly stipend. Once the boys in Somerton Road see the pounds are in short supply they will sit up and pay attention.
ReplyDeleteRemember this. The dollar is king - ALWAYS !!
Just shows the type of person the Vatican trusts with high office. God help us
ReplyDeleteSomething very dark and menacing about that man Mulhall's eyes. Don't they say the eyes are the windows to the soul?
ReplyDeleteHi pat . Great blog about Mulhall. As one who suffered directly at his hands I'm so glad he is gone but feel very sorry for turf lodge . If you hear about any protests etc please let me know as I'll be happy to join them . Hope your keeping well ?
ReplyDeleteThe talk at Holy Trinity this morning was the visit being made by Bishop Buckley. I'm sure Mulhall has heard it by now.
ReplyDeleteI will be there very soon and will have at least one priest with me.
DeleteIf anyone wants to contact us

You will be very welcome in Turf Lodge as no one is listening to us. When some of us heard this Priest was coming back a few people wrote to the bishop, his answer was no reply. We haven't forgotten poor Fr Matt who we loved, this Fr Mulhall was even nasty towards him and we have not forgotten that and now he has been sent back to us. We dont want anyone to beat the priest but if anyone knows the Turf it's a place wear you can't shit on people because we have had years of it.
ReplyDeleteStop putting money on the plate. That will sort out The Mulhall business
ReplyDeleteI haven't been putting money on the plate since he arrived and that will continue but do you know what I think he couldn't give a hang if nobody put any money on the plate, he doesn't care a hoot about anyone or anything. This villan need to be booted out of this area and soon. He's upset people again at the weekend.
Delete@ 11:09. Sie sind eine sehr hässliche alte Königin
ReplyDeletewhy are you using the formal sie if your insulting the person? clearly not a natural german speaker!
DeleteWhat is it in English ?
Delete"Aren't you the bitchy aul' queen."
DeleteI much prefer molly malone - a live a live oh - a live a live oh - crying cockles and muscles a clive and live oh. love that song.
DeleteArchbishop Angelo Becciu, number two in the Vatican's powerful Secretariat of State, said Cavalcoli's comments were 'offensive to believers and disgraceful for non-believers'.
ReplyDeleteThe Archbishop is not speaking for me or for a great number of Catholics, I agree with the priest, God bless him.
Anon at 11:09.... Get real. Do you actually expect people to believe you. And even if you had such information, you're just as bad as the people involved for sitting on information and gloating about it !
ReplyDeleteDoubting Dessie
Fr Cavalcoli ought to join the Westboro Baptist Church with opinions like that !
ReplyDeleteThe Buddhists, the Muslims and the Jews regard homosexuality as a gross sin as did every Christian denomination until the last few decades. Everybody was/is wrong but the modernist Christians? It is, according to traditional Catholic teaching one of the sins 'crying out to heaven for vengeance' - perhaps earthquakes and even worse?
DeletePat,
ReplyDeleteI for one will be very interested to see how you get on in Turf Lodge this week. There is clearly a major issue with regard to Fr Mulhall, and I imagine quite a number of parishioners will wish to speak to you.
Please keep us informed as to how things progress with this matter.
Priest of Down & Connor Diocese.
I will publish a blog, with images, of ny visit to Turf Lodge.
DeleteWhat other priest will be with you Pat on your visit, surely it's not anyone from D&C .
ReplyDeleteNo. A totally independent priest "ib good standing" from an English diocese
DeleteBut I have discussed the whole case with good D&C priests who are horrified.
DeleteWhat is good standing?
ReplyDeleteIt means a priest who is fully recognised by his diocese / religious order.
DeleteThanks. Why an english priest and not irish one
DeleteThe English are generally better people than the Oirish
DeleteVery harsh treatment of a great priest . Have you even met the man "Bishop " Pat. He has been dropped into the gutter among the great unwashed lumpenproletariat of "Tuff Lodge".
ReplyDeleteAre you calling Turf Lodge a gutter???
DeleteThat ignorant pig is suggesting the people of Turf Lodge are the great unwashed. Is it you Fr Mulhall or your male friend because that's what we totally feel you see us as.
DeleteThe PEOPLE of a parish are infinitely more important than its FINANCES !!!
Delete"The Buddhists, the Muslims and the Jews regard homosexuality as a gross sin as did every Christian denomination" -- this is not true of Buddhism at all (one of the reasons it is now such a popular religion).
ReplyDeleteSorry but it is true of mainstream Buddhism. The Dalai Lama explicitly stated that this is the case in an interview with The Times a couple of years ago.
DeleteActually the 14th Dalai Lama is in favour of equal marriage, his exact stance being: "If two people – a couple – really feel that way is more practical, more sort of satisfaction, both sides fully agree, then OK." That in itself is the blessing of Tibetan Buddhism.
DeletePerhaps people are just frightened of we gays, since we cause earthquakes! We don't even have to ask if the earth moved lol.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone agreed to speak to you yet when you visit the parish? I hope they do but in Turf Lodge the word tout still brings fear and it doesn't always mean the police. As I say I hope they do speak up to you, not sure an English Priest would be welcome here.
ReplyDeleteA N Ireland priest of an English diocese.
DeleteThat's ok Bishop. As long as he is one of us, I thought he was English. I want to spake but my husband and my mother don't want me to open my bake. I've told friends to contact you u. Hope they have. A couple were murdered on this street years ago for touting to the police and people are still afraid to talk to anyone even a priest.
DeleteIf this works it will be because they trust you as a person. This trust will also have to extend to your friend. Jesus was neither Fenian nor Orange but he gave them all a run for their money o to speak. I still wonder what the home team strategy will be.
DeleteI dislike fr mulhall with a passion I will change my opinion of him . However Ile try to be fair for a moment , maybe he isn't to blame for everything . He's a redemptorist priest he isn't trained to work in a parish setting hes maybe a money man more experienced in clerical rather than pastoral duties . He's maybe not a people person . He maybe mentally ill and isn't coping . The question must be who put this man in positions and jobs he can't do . You don't send a butcher into a operating theater just because he's good with knives . Noel trainor has a lot to answer for why is he putting mulhall into churches where he clearly isn't wanted ? If mulhall has a ounce of wit then he must dislike it also . Trainor has plenty of priests who could be put to better use he has a few doing clerical duties when he could easily employ lay people and put the priests out to work in the churches where they are ment to be . Like I say I'm no fan of b.h but I'm trying to be fair
ReplyDeleteI ment to say I will never change my opinion of him . I read what I wrote last night and I'm maybe being too fair on mulhall he's a nasty peice of work but I try to live as Christian a life as possible and to keep a open mind about things
