AMY SENDS POLICE

AMY MARTIN SENDS POLICE TO ME

AMY MARTIN AND RORY COYLE

AMY MARTIN made a complaint to the Northern Ireland Police Force (PSNI) about this Blog on December 6th last by sending the Armagh Safeguarding Officer - AIDAN GORDON - to the police.

AIDAN GORDON

So yesterday I met with two police officers in Larne to discuss the complaint - made under The Communications Act (2003) of "improper use of a means of electrical communication".

They showed me the statement made by Mr Gordon and asked me a number of questions - all of which I was very happy to answer.

I then presented them with the letter below for inclusion in their file.
17th January 2017 – 1 PM.

Det Con: XXXXX XXXXXXX and Det Con XXXXX XXXXX (Police Officers names removed)

Police Service for Northern Ireland ( PSNI )

Dear Sir,

I am very happy to welcome you to my home in Larne and give you full co-operation in relation to the matter you are investigating – the report from the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Armagh into a comment which appeared on my Blog of November 25th last about the Reverend Rory Coyle.

You kindly informed me by telephone that the comment the Archdiocese objected to involved words like “taking a flame thrower to Ara Coeli”  - the residence of Eamon Martin.

When you contacted me last Friday morning I immediately went to the blog in question and permanently removed the comment in question to allow you to see that I respected your concern.

I would be quite sure that the person making this comment – who is completely unknown to me – was speaking figuratively, metaphorically and allegorically about challenging sexual irregularities and their cover up in the Archdiocese of Armagh and that there was never any question of him or her committing such a vile crime.

I think that Archbishop Martin knew this and was acting in a childish, mischievous and disingenuous way by involving the PSNI to attack my blog THINKING CATHOLICISM which is regularly critical of his failure to resolve the question of the sexual misbehaviour of his diocesan priests.

While I fully understand and respect that the PSNI must do their duty when they receive a complaint I feel that in this instance you were being cynically used to try and stop the perfectly peaceful and necessary debate about the reform of the Irish Roman Catholic Church.

I would regard this as a “waste of police time” and the making of a “bogus complaint”.

It would be like Albert the Bishop of Mainz in Germany sending the German police to Martin Luther for publishing his objections to the sale of indulgences.

Sincerely yours,

+ Pat Buckley

It is my belief, as I said in that letter that Amy Martin and others bishops / person in the Irish R C Church is trying to use the police to close down this Blog because they do not like the CONSTANT STREAM OF TRUTH that appears here.

They failed in their complaints to GOOGLE BLOGGER and are now trying to use the police.

I think that this is not only very petty of them but also pretty despicable.

Instead of reporting me to people they should be doing all they can to clean up the various kinds of CORRUPTION that exist in each and everyone of their diocese.

The DO NOT LIKE THE MESSAGE as they want to SHOOT THE MESSENGER.

I am asking all of you out there who want the Irish Catholic Church renewed and reformed to take an interest in what Amy & CO are doing and even if you disagree with my views support my right to express them.

I will keep you informed of the outcome.

ALBERT - BISHOP OF MAINZ

NOTE TO DIARMUID IN ROME:

RE: DEACON BYRNE.

DIARMUID AND AMY IN ROME WITH NOEL TREANOR ON MONDAY

Diarmuid,

I emailed you last night to ask you if it was true that you had decided to lunch an investigation in Deacon Michael Byrne and suspend him during that investigation.

I understand that you are extremely busy in Rome these days and that your time is limited.

However back here in Ireland many of us are gravely scandalised by Deacon Byrne and your apparent inaction on the subject.

We need to know - and we are entitled to know - if and when you are going to seriously address this question.

If you are I am happy to leave it in your hands and await the outcome of your enquiries.

However if you intend to totally ignore all our concerns I will be left with no other option but to put all the material on Deacon Byrne that I have into the public domain - including the emails and photographs I sent you last Wednesday night.

Please do not think that this is a threat. It is not. But the ongoing situation is intolerable.

But if you will not act - or even tell us you are going to act - you leave me with no alternative but to address this matter in the public forum.

Sincerely yours,

Pat

PARTY TIME MAYNOOTH:

SHOCKING COMMENT ON YESTERDAYS BLOG:

SEMINARIANS SAYING THE PRAYER ON THE CONSECRATION MASS OVER THEIR

PINTS IN A PUB !!!!!!!!!

I visited Maynooth in 2007 as a guest for the diaconate ordanations. Later that night some members of the class were town out of the roost because the bar staff got fed up of drunk clerics saying the prayers of consecration over their pints and food, and blessing groups of people. It was the bar staff who found the behaviour to be offensive.

  1. Why isn't the Irish Catholic covering this despicable tawdry affair instead of licking up to bishops in Rome?
Well done to the Irish Independent. Let's face it it reached an awful lot of people on Saturday. Everyone was shocked.

  2. Very good letter to the police.
The language of the email is right on the nose.
The cynicism of the seminarians massive but not surprising.

    1. Yes, who would have thought that Bishop Pat, a man whose "homosexual condition inhibits fully natural relationships with people" (to quote ZeroTime from yesterday) had it within him? Isn't it just as well that ZeroTime with his profound understanding of church texts wasn't a seminary director back in the day, since Bishop Pat, not being able to relate to humans properly, would never have got through the door!

  4. So Eamon Martin sent the police to you, Pat, over an obviously metaphorical comment? A spiritual flamethrower on Ara Coeli to rid the Church of corruption?

The image of fire is much used in our tradition as symbolic of purification. There are many other illustrations in Scripture.

Would Eamon Martin have sent the PSNI after St John the Baptist because he said, "even now is the axe laid to the roots of the trees ...."?

Would Eamon have had St John the Baptist arrested on suspicion of being an axe-murderer???

Indeed, would Eamon have been anxious about Our Lord, sending the PSNI to interview Him, for saying: "I have come to bring fire to the earth; and how I wish it were blazing already"? Does Eamon think Our Lord was a PYROMANIAC???

Eamon, stop wasting the PSNI's time. They have real crimes to investigate - not your pathetic little games of silly beggars.

Eamon, stop annoying the busy PSNI and start reforming Gaynooth which is sending corrupt and evil priests to faithful Catholics.

Eamon, leave the PSNI alone and expel the promiscuous homosexual seminarians from your diocese in Gaynooth; and encourage your fellow bishops to do the same, from out of their dioceses.

Eamon, stop acting the eejit and discipline the gay priests who disgraced themselves at WYD, from yours and other dioceses.

Eamon, please wise up and learn the lessons of Rory Coyle.

Eamon, please tell Fr X who is having gay sex with a 17 year old Protestant youth, whom you, or one of your fellow bishops told to be "discreet", to get out of the priesthood asap.

Eamon, tell Diarmuid Martin, no one is fooled by his antics and that he must be clearly seen to investigate the deacon who is the subject of a front page story in the Irish Independent.

Can you imagine, Eamon, what they are saying about you and the laughs they are having about you, among the PSNI - you and your safeguarding officer?

Would someone highly placed in Rome, please give Eamon and Diarmuid early retirement, unless they are prepared to cleanse the Church of gay and straight promiscuous seminarians and priests (mostly gay at present)??

Would someone with influence please tell the Pope NOT to come to Ireland unless there is honest and true reform. Perhaps, even at this stage, to reschedule and relocate the World Meeting of Families, away from Ireland?

And would you also inform the Pope of the real character of Timo, whose careerism, craving for a mitre and preferment by disgraced "Wounded Healer" Brady, is indicative of everything that is screwed up about the Church in Ireland, at present??

Would the highly placed person in Rome, also please recall the compromised and flattery-addicted Nuncio, Charles Brown, who is representing the Pope, as the Irish Church implodes, with shocking homosexual scandals among seminarians, younger clergy and their "mentors/defenders/protectors/sugar daddies"???

Eamon Martin, you are a laughing stock and a serious embarrassment as it is. You may not like Pat Buckley's blog; but stop being an imbecile and start addressing the concerns being flagged up there.

The Irish Church is swamped in sin, corruption and diabolical vice. Drain the swamp. It is not too late for you to become a true Christian and a good shepherd.

    Priest.

  8. + Bishop Pat,I cannot sufficiently express in written words my rage and anger at Archbishop Eamon Martin's covert and cowardly action of reporting an everyday metaphorical comment made by people in every walk of life to the PSNI.

I am incensed all the more because there are people in his jurisdiction of the Catholic Church and his Seminary who have driven some people to ill-health, some to the brink of suicide, destroyed some peoples' faith forever in a good God - and not only has he done nothing despite constant incontrovertible, indubitable evidence and reports, but he tries to shut down the only vehicle (i.e. your blog) by which people can safely tell the truth about the state of his Church and some unscrupulous characters in it.

+Bishop Pat, I would say that you now have a God-given duty to expose any dangerous men for both the safety and the preservation of faith of people who could be at risk in future to their malicious, insidious machinations.

God help the Church here with such inept and ineffectual leaders currently in place.

Fascinated by that photo of masculine yet insubstantial Amy flanked by the two bureaucrats who spent most of their priestly lives in desk jobs before being parachuted into dioceses with which in two cases they had no connection. Amy was a school principal (why, surely that's a lay vocation?). Did any of these three serve in a parish for more than five minutes? Same with PP. He chooses who will be a PP despite himself never having been a PP.

  10. It takes a lot for the staff of the Roost to throw people out. Though in the 80s a group of giggling seminarians was kicked out of a Dublin pub, the barman telling them "this is a couples pub, you'll have to go, lads".

  11. This is a most disturbing and very worrying development Bishop Pat and I hope that you are ok after the visit of the police. In a sense its a tribute to you that Amy sent in the police, as it shows you are hitting home and that you have struck a raw nerve. Amy must be really fearful of you and what you are doing to turn to such a desperate and futile measure. I'm sure the police officers were as puzzled and embarrassed as anything having to turn up at a Bishops residence, having been ordered to do so by - in effect - another bishop, albeit an idiotic one. No. Don't lose heart or courage. You are really hitting home now. Fight fire with fire! I feel the time for dialogue and invitation and reasonableness is close coming to an end. You need to expose these tyrants for what they are. If I was you I would publish what I have on them. Get it out in the open and then the faithful can see just what a shower of hypocrites these men are. God bless you Bishop Pat and strengthen you for the fight ahead. A Friend.

  21. The PSNI should now spend their time looking at the people who have made this vexatious allegation - Archbishop Eamon Martin and his safeguarding people - and have a chat with them about wasting police time and resources. In fact, perhaps someone should make that complaint to the PSNI and have them make a visit to Ara Coeli to interview the Archbishop ?

The arrogance, presumption and imperiousness of these people is staggering !

I really believe that the only way that they will be made to sit up and take notice of the catastrophe over which they are presiding presently is for people to hit them where it really hurts - namely, in the pocket. When they are no longer able to swan off to Rome and enjoy a week in the Eternal City, and when they have to shop at Lidl or Aldi like the rest of the world, and drive a tiny little Fiat Punto, is when they will begin to take notice and listen to what the Faithful is saying.

So, good people, stop putting your £s and Euros in the collection plate. Yes, it might hurt your nice parish priest as well, but if he is any good he will understand why he has to pull in his belt for a while, until such time as all the Bishops and their flunkies begin to take notice. It's the only way, I'm afraid, given their dolt headed intransigence and denial about what is happening and their part in it.

  35. Up until about a year ago, I had not heard of this blog. I had heard of Pat Buckley, of course and I had no time for him.

I became familiar with this blog when it was reported in the national media that an attempt had been made to close it down.

Since then, I am a daily reader of this blog. For my daily dip into national and world affairs it is - Morning Ireland, RTE, The Irish Times and Independent, Sky News and Wise Catholic! Not necessarily in that order.

I also, whilst not agreeing with him on a number of issues, have a growing respect, regard and sympathy for Pat Buckley.

Archbishop Eamon Martin's calling the police on this blog is entirely pathetic. All he is doing is getting the blog a wider audience and informing the PSNI of the deep dysfunction that exists currently in the Irish Catholic Church. Well maybe that is a good thing!

Some priests write to this blog because they KNOW it is being read by bishops and in the Vatican.

They write to let the "authorities" KNOW what the real issues are - not what sychophants, lick-spittles, climbers and crawlers tell them, to tickle their ears and keep them happy.

If you want to know the true state of the Irish Church, read Pat Buckley!

Furthermore, it is truly appalling and dreadful to contemplate the calibre of clerical students currently inhabiting the formation program in Maynooth.

I shudder at the prospect of having to collaborate with some of these clearly dysfunctional young men as colleagues, curates, etc. It fills me with dread for the future of the Church. Bad enough are some of the products with whom we currently have to deal.

People can see clearly through all this nonsense. So, Eamon Martin, quit your messing and deal with the serious issues that are being raised on this blog.

Keep up the good work, Pat. Keep their feet to the "fire"! Oops! We are not allowed to say things like that - my bad!

Let them squirm, squeal and writhe all they like, Pat. Keep the spotlight on them. You have a lot of support.

Our source confirmed that Deacon Byrne was one of those outed in the anonymous letters and that Abp. Martin refused to take appropriate action. "It's ironic that Bishop Martin's quote at the time and his decision looked like he was being the good cop when it now emerges that some of the anonymous letters were in fact accusations about Byrne and he moved him instead of investigating it thoroughly," the source commented.

Saint Patrick's College in Maynooth is Ireland's national seminary. Founded in 1795, it was built to house more than 500 seminarians and was once the largest seminary in the world. But today, that number has dwindled to some 40 men. Our source claims that, owing to the ongoing scandals at Maynooth, if something isn't done soon, not only the seminary but also Catholicism in Ireland will soon be no more.

"The whole college needs to be shut and an investigation into all seminarians carried out," he said. "It will put the final nail in the coffin of Catholicism in this country if it is not."

    2. How much more evidence does DM need about Byrne? He was named in the anonymous letters last year. DM now has sexually explicit pictorial evidence of him on Grindr etc.

I really do think at this stage that DM is implicated somehow in all of this.

Bishop Pat, either you or Ab Martin is going to end up with egg all over his face...and it isn't going to be you.

    3. That is just a matter of formality. They have to send a file there because a PSNI officer is not the person who closes the file, that's the prosecution office's job. Not to worry about it.

  49. I would like to refer this case to the Police Ombudsman in that Amy has wasted police time and there is no case to answer. The cost of conducting this interview is farcical given the PSNI' s limited resources. The Officers must have been affronted to conduct such an interview, I know I would!! Would you not consider getting your MP involved Pat? Keep up your good work.

  57. Pat, what about your right to freedom of speech and not to be harassed? You should seek advice and counterattack Eamon Martin. What exactly is your "crime" anyhow? Allowing people to express deep satisfaction with clergy who are living immoral and hypocritical lives? Like that's a crime?? This is obviously bullying on the part of Eamon Martin and he should be charged with making bogus complaints. Incidentally, whatever happened to Paul the Pry-er's legal threat to you?

    1. The "crime" was:

"The improper use of a means of electrical communication" !

    2. Indeed, it is completely improper to use electrical communication to exercise the right to free speach and to encourage debate. I doubt anything will come of it.

You always have the pics to publish anyway.

You should share your experience of this 'crime' with the media.

    3. It's pure bullshit. They are playing silly games. Send the cops to Ara Coeli for harassment and bullying. A pity dereliction of pastoral responsibility and moral duty isn't a criminal offence. Amy would already be behind bars along with a number of other bishops!!!

  60. Did it ever sound strange that when Rome was required to have a massive clean up almost 10 years ago that Prior was moved from Rome to Maynooth. Since the Maynooth appears to have progressed from cynical dysfunction to sexually, cynical dysfunction. What exactly is Prior's role in this degeneration?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Prior's role in Maynooth's degeneration is primary. He is the Senior Formator. He is the one forming, reviewing and approving Jones & Byrne for ordination. He did the same for Derwin. He is the conduit through which all the current filth is being unleashed on the Irish church.

  61. Prior's whole priestly career seems to have involved being a school chaplain, then being a director of formation in Rome then Maynooth. That's an extremely atypical priestly life. So with no lived experience how can he decide who should be a priest? Has he buried the dead, heard lay people's confessions, lived in a presbytery, preached to a congregation, married people unrelated to him. What a bizarre experience of priesthood. More like a HR manager.

    ReplyDelete
  62. It is strange indeed. By all accounts he is a man of limited intelligence. He also had limited pastoral experience until he caught the eye of fellow cavan man cardinal sean wounded healer brady. The wounded healer obviously realised a man of fr prior's calibre was needed to serve in the irish college and to form future priests.
I notice Google have removed several posts from this blog referring to him. Can you comment pat?

    2. You are certainly right on limited intelligence. Loads of confidence, but limited intelligence. Just check his spartan credentials. I know that letters after one's name can mean very little, but honestly in his case I believe his knowledge of theology, literature etc is very limited and his knowledge of the psychological sciences even less, even if he acts like an expert on human behaviour and as arbiter on who or shouldn't be a priest. As they say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. He brings all his narrow prejudices/personal inadequacies/lack of intelligence to bear on what should be very sacred discernment. Just shows up the Catholic Church in Ireland for its love of mediocrity and fear of intellectually robust individuals who see the forest for the trees. I for one would hope for the qualities of intelligence, humility, holiness, discernment and wisdom in those entrusted with such an important task.

  63. Pat, I'm attending a conference here in Devon. Your blog is the main discussion point over supper. I am dismayed to read about the Catholic Church in the wee Emerald Isle. As a priest, spiritual director and psychologist I am shocked that Some of these young men got through the psychologicals. I always said that the seminarians in Maynooth were immature in terms of relational, coping skills, spiritually unchallenged with little discernment or growth-particularly in terms of sexuality and boundary.

    2. The problem is lack of sex. They didn't have enough of it before they entered seminary, to test themselves and consider if they could live without it. Then they arrived and it was like a candy shop for them. Stunted development. Psychological profiling should establish that at some point in life that they had a healthy sex life and are now willing to give it up!

    2. I'm sure when the Pope visits we can organise a protest with plackards giving high level feedback on the Brady Bunch (Browne, Martin 1, Martin 2, The Bollocks, Maynooth, Rory, Gorgeous, Derwin, Fanny, InPriory, Bennett, Indiana Jones and the Jockstrap crusade). We can line the highways of Ireland with signs that cannot be ignored. We can write them in Spanish if that helps.

    3. The media is completely silent on the bishops' excursion to Rome. Is it because the church is so irrevelant to ordinary Irish people or that the Irish Church is so embarrassing and pathetic it's even a lost cause to the Romans??????

  67. There are approx. 32,000 practicing Catholics (weekly Mass) in Ireland per diocese and approx. 75,000 per diocese in England. If it was decided to sack half the Irish bishops and they could carry on sacking one every five years or so at the current rate of decline in Mass attendance. Save a few quid? Would the last bishop standing turn out the lights at Maynooth.
