DEACON BYRNE SHOCK

DEACON BYRNE SHOCK

DEACON MICHAEL JACK "GORGEOUS" BYRNE has been on a gay sex dating site looking to kook up with men between the ages of 50 and 90 !

The 24 year old deacon for the ARCHDIOCESE OF DUBLIN who was recently pulled out of MAYNOOTH and sent to ROME by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin published a profile on the site called SILVERDADDIES.

SILVERDADDIES is a gay sex meeting site for "THE MATURE MAN AND HIS ADMIRERS".

On his profile he says he is seeking men between the ages of 50 and 90!

He says that when it comes to ORAL SEX he is "versatile" - that is he gives and receives.

When it comes to ANAL SEX he is also "versatile" - he gives and receives - but has a slight preference for giving.

He is looking for an older man to have fun with. But also for walks on the beach and for cuddles.

Every now and then he likes "no strings attached" - sex without any emotional commitment.

He has recently removed the Silverdaddies profile - probably after the Maynooth GRINDR scandal in the summer.

But he is still using the same Skype address today in The Irish College in Rome - jackb2222.

For the purposes of his on line profiles he uses the name "JACK O'NEILL" instead of Michael Jack Byrne.

The Blog has spoken to people he met through Silverdaddies for sex.

SPORTING DESIGNER CLOTHES IN DUBLIN'S PRO CATHEDRAL

All of this information has also been provided to Archbishop Diarmuid Martin who is leaving Dublin for Rome on this Friday - January 13th.

All of the Irish bishops are due in Rome for their 5 yearly "Ad Limina" visit during which they give reports about their stewardship to Pope Francis and the cardinals in charge of Vatican Congregations.

I imagine that the Congregation for the Clergy - which controls the clergy, deacons and seminaries will want to talk about Deacon Byrne.

Currently all over the world - and in Ireland and Dublin too - there is a massive problem with sexually active seminarians and priests.

A large part of that problem is that bishops are turning a blind eye to the problems and scandals.

Deacon Byrne is currently studying at THE IRISH COLLEGE in Rome.

BELOW Deacon Byrne is pictured with his fellow seminarians on his arrival at The Irish College in the autumn.

Apart from Archbishop Martin the other man who will not have to deal with the latest Deacon Byrne scandal is the Rector of The Irish College in Rome - Monsignor  Ciaran O'Carroll.

CIARAN O CARROLL

PAT SAYS:

This latest scandal is sad for all involved.

It is sad for Michael Byrne himself, his family, his friends, his diocese, the seminaries he attended, the people he met on sex sites.

But this scandal is a symptom of bigger problems.

The Roman Catholic Church holds teachings about sex that many of its clergy and people do not agree with or cannot live up to.

Some bishops and priests are pretending to be celibate but are also enjoying very active sex lives.

Some cardinals, bishops, priests and seminarians are sexually and personally compromised.

Bishops are turning a blind eye to practices that their Church condemns.

The Church is staggering from one clerical scandal to another.

ALL THESE issues and others have to be addressed openly and honestly.

MICHAEL BYRNE himself cannot be ordained a priest now. It would be bad for him and his future and it would be bad for so many others.

He was in "diffs" in Maynooth and now he is in "diffs" again in Rome.

Senior clergy and others who have given him money, cars, designer clothes etc, have done him no favour.

**** The Archdiocese of Dublin has made it clear to this Blog that neither the archbishop or anyone in the diocese authorised a rental apartment for Michael Byrne in Dublin at Christmas.

****This Blog has decided not to discuss today the private individuals Michael Byrne encountered on the Internet and in person - as these people are private individuals and those we spoke to are not clerics or seminarians and did did not know who and what MB was when they first encountered him.

Some of them have been very deeply damaged and hurt.

LATE LAST NIGHT I WAS MADE AWARE OF MUCH MORE SERIOUS MATTERS CONCERNING DEACON BYRNE AND COMMUNICATED THEM TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES.

I WILL BE RETURNING TO THIS VERY SOON AGAIN.

THE CHURCH NEEDS TO ACT SERIOUSLY AND DECISIVELY.

  1. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Lady, Mother of the Church, pray for the welfare of our Holy Catholic Church, created by your Holy and Divine Son for the good of His people, and to which was promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. Amen.

Lord, give us holy priests; You Yourself maintain them in holiness. O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil's traps and snares which are continually being set for the souls of priests. May the power of Your mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priests, for You can do all things. Amen.

  3. It's not sad for him at all, Pat. His arrogance is stunning and the actions of Dermot Martin last summer are also under scrutiny.

There is no comeback from this now for Byrne. He is finished. He should have been finished last summer. DM's behaviour is very disturbing.

Now that Byrne has nothing to lose, I wonder when he will start squealing on the priests, canons, bishops, archbishops and cardinals, aged between 50 and 90, who have been for "walks on the beach" with him and listing their versatilities?

You said something the other day about the worst scandal in the history of the Irish Church. I think it is about to erupt.

  4. Well done Pat. And I say that with sadness. While I was not in his year, I knew of Deacon Byrne in seminary and he was extremely dangerous if he didn't like you. He was known to report plenty of stories back to Paul Prior. His veneer smile masks two faces.

How come the archdiocese could not unearth evidence similar to what you have uncovered? A private detective following these versatile double-lifestyle guys would have no problem catching them out, because they can't resist coming out to 'play' - "HERE'S JOHNNY"!!!!

The powers that be are obviously not interested unearthing these worms, preferring to keep them sealed in the can.

It is very obvious in my opinion, that the site used by this young man to profile himself among older men, with no commitment, veils a form of prostitution. Seeing in Maynooth how Micheal liked money, new things, new clothes, along with his fondness for large gin and tonics - money had to be part of his motive behind his reasonings to appear on a site like this - call it money for sex or gifts for sex - it is prostitution. From information on this blog, it is obvious he likes older mature men, I assume they would be extra generous to the young versatile stud?

Quick story: a seminarian friend of mine was in Rome some years ago and in Gammarelli Cloth Shop - famous as the Pope's tailor. He was in a cubicle trying-on a jacket and heard excited Irish accents coming from an adjoining changing cubicle: "You look fabulous", the voice raved, "it's absolutely stunning on you." While my friend didn't buy the jacket, he had to wait outside to see who would come out of the cubicle? And who walks out? No, not the Pope! It was our Michael Byrne dressed in full clerical tailored suit with matching Roman collar - he was still a first year student in seminary - and walking out behind him was his mentor from the Pro.

His days of fooling fools are over. Thank you for uncovering him. EF

  5. There is no doubt Pat, that God is calling you to clean up His Church. Gloves on! You'll need a big broom stick. No better man. The Truth must be told to unearth and expose these slimy worms slithering among us. One caught red-handed, many more to go, please God. A house infested with word-worm collapses. Let's discover them before everything is lost. You are the lamp.

You've talked about these websites before but when one actually sees and reads Byrne's profile page, as you have revealed, I think it will leave everybody speechless. Be prepared for a very busy blog commentary today!

Rev (Deacon) Byrne obviously sat with his Archbishop after you exposed him last year, and denied any involvement in such website activities. And he was believed - one's jaw drops at that.

"Now Michael, don't lie to me, are you sure Buckley is not onto something here?," must have been the questioned asked by the Archbishop. "Trust me, that Buckley fellow is making it all up." That must have done it. Interview over. Book the tickets, you're going to Rome, honey!

Either that, or something more sinister is going on? Is that what you are getting at, Pat?

I think it's "Fasten the seat belts", for lots of people! "HERE'S PAT"!!! EF

I shared that information with DM.

  6. If Archbishop Martin does not take this serious, he should be asked to resign.this is on the same level as a sex abuse scandal. It is been covered up by Ab Martin and others. Ab Martins head should be on the block if he does not get rid of this dangerous Byrne guy now.

  7. Frs. Paul Prior and Michael Collins are the Directors of Formation (Laurel and Hardy), in Maynooth and were responsible for Michael Byrne's FORMATION, over the past many years. Both of them should be made accountable. If Prior has been handed the grease pole to ease his way out of Maynooth, then Collins must also be given the Vaseline and follow behind him. End of story. I know Fanny will be very upset but she'll have to be greased-up too!

It was always obvious Byrne was overly obsessed with himself. The Formation staff must have been enamoured with all the selfies? Wonder are they over 50? Are they over him?! They obviously gave him full-marks on his annual evaluation reports which enabled him to return to Maynooth, each year? Oh.....I forgot, would you believe, because Paul Prior felt the filling-in of the annual Evaluation Forms were taking up too much of his time, interfering with his Sex Education interviews, (wait for it), he decided to introduce a more efficient a easier system (for him): each student was to fill in their own Evaluation Forms, in future, and Paul Prior would forward them on to the relevant Bishops. Did anyone ever look at them? We often wondered because I used to give myself 10/10! As did most of my colleagues!

I'd say there will be loads of Golden Oldie clergy, concerned with this latest development. Maybe Michael will book himself a holiday - in a Nursing Home! Seat belts on is right! EF

  8. Bishop Pat I urge you to forward this information immediately to the Congregation for Bishops and the Congregation for the Clergy immediately, so that it will on their agenda for the Ad Limina visit. Also have you made Patsy McGarry aware? Vatican Insider.

  15. What a sordid and sad tale. This young man is quite obviously not a suitable candidate for the priesthood and should be sent packing ASAP. His Archbishop should take immediate and decisive action or are the 'gay friendly' rumours true when it comes to handsome young men!

Perhaps 'Sillybuggers' rather than 'Silverdaddies' would be the appropriate site for this fool and his friends in the Church.

    ReplyDelete
  24. You have to wonder, when someone acts so wrecklesly, if at some sub or barely conscious level they are actually hoping to get caught. That their mental health is so precarious and their life so out of control and complicated by a web of self deception and lies that they just want it to stop, but are frightened of who they will be when the veneer is removed and the charade ended. This may well be true of others involved, some will be dysfunctional and weak, others equally dysfunctional but calculating and corrupt... it looks as though truth may well out very soon and I pray for all concerned, some of whom will as others are already doing, begin the difficult and sometimes lifelong task of trying to glue the pieces back together and make some sort of sense and concordant self narrative. Nothing like this would be possible if the church engaged with the reality of human sexuality and the immanence of love, the challenges and invitation to growth that it brings and the freedom and joy that may be attained. Discernment in the spirit as to what is self indulgence and what is love? Of course! It's an integral part of the challenge!

  48. I'll repeat what I said on yesterday's blog: 'The number of the beast is the clergy-count in the Catholic Church at any one time. '

What better cover for Satan and his wiles than those supposedly with moral authority to teach and preach. Could there be a more deceiving Trojan horse?

When Napoleon's forces took prisoner Pope Pius V1 and transported him to France, Napoleon told Pius (an implacable opponent of the French Revolution) that he would destroy the Church. 'You will not succeed,' Pius declared. 'We priests have been trying to do that for nearly 1800 years.'

Patriarchy in the Catholic Church corrupts. And if that patriarchy is predominantly clerical and absolutely hierarchical, then the perfect moral vehicle for the dissemination of evil is in place.

Unless there is serious and effectual reform of clerical structures within the Church, the kind of evil reported above (and other sorts) will be repeated, especially the former since sexual scandal causes most damage and drives more people away from the Church.

It is imperative that all candidates for the priesthood and the religious life, and that all bishops (including the Bishop of Rome) be appointed or dismissed only with the approval of the wider Church.

To reduce the moral corruptibility of power in the Church, it must be more widely shared. But this can come about only if clerics accept that those passages in the New Testament which relate to exercise of authority in the Church have traditionally been too narrowly interpreted to refer only to the clergy.

Somebody suggested Michael returns from Rome immediately and go on the dole, which of course is absurd. Michael has other resources to suck-dry for cash, remember he is very 'versatile'!

The Irish Church need new types of Bishops. The term, 'with Spiritual Balls' comes to mind. Bit like your own Pat. The reason the Church is like the paralytic lowered from the roof, lifeless on the stretcher, is because the Bishops never took ownership of their roles and, like Michael, are self-obsessed with their own image, vanity, and position. 63. The underlying issue here is sexuality and priesthood. Seems to me the church wanted to make the priesthood an asexual profession in order to control the troops. This has sadly and dangerously misfired over the centuries. So what now? Arrest the symptoms and correct the root cause part of which is inforced celibacy.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Exactly. Pope Francis wanted to devote the next synod to this topic but was opposed by his bishop advisors. A married clergy might help curb or counterbalance the gay culture, seemingly in the ascendant if reports on this blog are anything to go by. I think a married clergy would carry more positives than negatives.

    2. 19.44 Popey needs to use his veto then...

      Delete
    3. I don't think it's a question of married clergy "curbing" the gay culture. I'm not saying that there have not been homosexual priests in the past, but it was not a "homosexual profession". The Church in modern times has practically invited homosexuals into the priesthood not because of the celibacy rule but because it has become an effeminate Church. Just look at the Mass: the priest now is practically there as a "babysitter" being all slushy to the congregation and being "on stage" as if he is performing. Having grown up just before the old Mass was thrown out, I can see how impoverished Catholics are spiritually now - particularly men. Before, the priest faced God during the Mass - now, many prance about the sanctuary, making up the Mass as they go along, no room for God, and making the Mass all sweet and fluffy...Is it any wonder young men are not going to Mass, and why the priesthood is the way it is or why it is attracting the "wrong sort"? I know that might seem simplistic - and I know that the priesthood has never been perfect - but I do know that during my lifetime something drastic has changed which has brought the priesthood so low.

In any case, I don't think we can blame the Church's stance on celibacy for today's revelation about deacon Byrne. Whatever one thinks the Church should or shouldn't do, the issue here surely is that Byrne has lied and deceived countless people to get to where he is, a breath away from priestly ordination - celibacy no more causes a man to lie and deceive others than marriage would prevent a priest from telling a lie!

    1. How can you say this man is in the least holy, when he has evidently deceived, betrayed and cheated on people? His sexuality, and decision to pursue it, is not the sin in question (though one wonders why he felt called to the celibate priesthood). Rather, his ability to manipulate people and use powerful connections to his personal advantage, is demonstrative of the most unholy and unchristian intentions.

This man does not belong in the priesthood, regardless of sexuality (believe me, I know many straight and gay sexually active priests/Friars here in England), but because of his inability to lead a life of Christian virtue.

They used to queue up for minibuses to the gay bars on a Friday night in the nearest city. God help us all, they bring down His wrath upon, not just themselves but all of us and very soon I guess.

  71. OK I need to ask something. I was interested in becoming a priest last year always felt called towards. I attended an evaluation at St Lukes in manchester - you receive a report after. I was question over and over again about my sexual experiences , masterbating asking me if it was right - I WANT TO KNOW HOW THESE SEMINARIANS ARE GETTING THROUGH ? WHATS THE DEAL !!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The deal is that some are being deceptive - look at today's story! Byrne surely got through a psychological evaluation, being asked the same kind of questions as you were. It is also possible that some psychologists who conduct these evaluations do not agree with what the Church teaches about human sexuality or priesthood.

As a practicing Catholic, dismayed and saddened by what I have read today, I would like to encourage you, Anon. 20:58 - if you feel that you genuinely have a vocation to priesthood, please pursue it. The situation is bleak at the moment, but it will not improve unless we have good and holy men in the priesthood. God bless.

      Delete
    2. thanks for that - i do need some encourgment as i seem to be have left in the wilderness

      Delete
    3. Well it appears from Byrne, D. Martin and the sex scandals that could easily be fixed but are not that at some level there is a messed up understanding of sexuality. All Maynooth evaluations are conducted by a priest or a sister, who may have just as messed up an understanding of sexuality.

I think that they want someone who is happy to masterbate to fulfill sexual fantasies as an indicator that they will not stray. So the right answer may just be, "yes I masterbate, yes I feel guilty afterwards but I try again to be chaste. It is difficult but I do my best because I feel called to a life of celebacy rather than the married life"

      Delete
    4. Please persevere - you will need plenty of strength to persevere, so pray and get a good spiritual director if you don't have one already. Despite what some might think there are some good priests around - in truth, most priests are doing their best - so do try to get to know some priests who are genuinely holy and faithful to Christ and the Church. I will be praying for you - I assure you of that - and I'm sure that others who read this blog will too, despite all that is happening around us.

      Delete
    5. Persevere. Pray. Explore the Church. Diocesan priesthood is only one charism within the priesthood. There are many religious orders who have parish and pastoral work as part of their charism. I know of one young man advised to lie at St. Luke's by the vocations director. He got through but struggled in seminary. He is now one of many who have changed to a religious order.

  72. @20:50 I'm afraid so, the two in question are apparently being quite 'brave', holidaying together alone and sharing other close moments together, to the knowledge of their parish admirers and favourites. At large events, the two can always be seen gravitating towards each other, being especially cold to their other 'brethren' who wish to interact with them as well. It's about time these rumours were investigated, and the two in question removed from their posts of authority.

He merely agreed to speak to the two in question, an action I know was never taken. The two are very prominent and forceful figures themselves, having strong allies, and would strongly resist any attempts to expose their situation. It requires the greater attention here, for action to be effective.

In a more blanced Christian perspective Christians have a duty to correct one another. The idea of solving conflicts within the community presupposes a healthy Christian community. Where Christians cause scandal, commit rrlatively grave sins, and lie to their pastors, these safeguards have failed.

I am not talking about lies or mistruth, I am talking about the action of spreading malicious truth or truths about a third party. This includes dissemination by any means and for any intention. This phenomenon is against any human system, and surpasses homicide in its gravity. For the sin of malicious truth bearing there is no repentance and no forgiveness, ever.
