GORGEOUS - DIARMUID - MAYNOOTH

GORGEOUS - DIARMUID - MAYNOOTH

GORGEOUS - KING PUCK AND OTHERS - ON THE BUS

SELFIE BY GORGEOUS
THE BLOG HAS HEARD THAT THE MAYNOOTH SEMINARY COUNCIL WANTED TO DISMISS MICHAEL GORGEOUS BYRNE FROM MAYNOOTH FOR "IMMATURITY" AND WERE ORDERED NOT TO BY ARCHBISHOP DIARMUID MARTIN !

The row involving the Maynooth Council, Gorgeous and Dermo allegedly happened in the early 2010's.

My information on this row comes from a highly respected journalist with massive contacts in the Catholic Church and priesthood.

FATHER LIAM RIGNEY

He claims that Father Liam Rigney - the parish priest of Maynooth - and Diarmuid Martin's contact with Maynooth Dublin seminarians was despatched to Maynooth to tell them that Archbishop Martin was ORDERING - not telling them - to reinstate Gorgeous.

In contact with the Dublin seminarians at Maynooth.the past two days Father Rigney has denied this and said that he had no contact and meeting with the Maynooth Council and was simply the archbishop's contact with the seminarians.

The Dublin seminarian in Maynooth at the time had regular meetings with Father Rigney in the Parochial House at Maynooth.

MAYNOOTH PAROCHIAL HOUSE

MAYNOOTH'S OTHER ISSUE:

FATHER BENNET

I hope readers have been able to keep up with the growing cast of figures that are emerging as we explore the Irish Catholic Church, its bishops, priests, deacons seminarians etc in this 21st century.

When I went to school in the 50's and 60's in Ireland I had to bring in a penny everyday for the BLACK BABIES OF AFRICA which I had to hand over to the nun or Christian Brother.

Now the African folk are coming here.

Some of them are coming to fill the places in parishes that lie vacant because of the shortage of priests in Ireland.

Others are coming here to study for the priesthood.

One of the more famous African seminarian to enter Maynooth in recent times was Bennet - the man from Nairobi.

Apparently Father Paul Prior of Maynooth took him under his wing.

FATHER PRIOR
Bennet left Maynooth and was later ordained in 2012 for service in Australia.

Father Bennet will go down in the annals of 20th century Maynooth.

“In all the Catholic countries the sexual crimes of the priests are hard to tell. There is a kind of auto-censoring, on the part of journalists and victims because of the shame and because the culture of the church is very strong,”

Emiliano Fittipaldi - Italian Journalist.

You've kind of "left this one hanging" Pat.
Why would Bennet go down in the annals?
Also the three paragraphs concerning Fr Rigney seem somewhat confusing/unclear.

All I can say is that whatever brought him to that point on his journey it certainly wasn't the Grace that God had given him as he believes.
"Everyone gathered here today represents what is good about Maynooth". Really??.Is he deluded?.
Oot of the 9 Seminarians 4/5 have been mentioned on this blog in the last few days-and not in a good way.
And then the bould Barry had the neck to assure "others who will leave to travel a different path" of his prayers. He should have been praying for forgiveness from God for the part he played in the dismissal of good Seminarians.

  7. Bennett was a seminarian for Kildare and Leighlin and was apparently turned down by every other diocese in Ireland. He had major sexual and moral issues. Seminarians were more or less afraid of him because of his very close relationship with Prior. In the end he was given a route to Australia by Prior after the situation with the nun in Carlow.

If only people knew what went/goes on in that seminary.

The bishops are acting just like their predecessors by remaining in denial about Maynooth. It appears as if their critical faculties have been completely suspended.

  10. Ah the bold Bennet! I was wondering how long it would take him to pop up here. If you ever want to see how Maynooth not only does not form a man but makes him worse than he was when he entered formation, then Fr Bennet is your man to analyse. God love him he was an absolute disaster and talked more like a porn star than a seminarian! He would turn the air blue the minute he walked into a room. It appeared he was a swinger who was into everything and anything with an orifice! Poor auld bishop Moriarty in Kildare had the bad sense to take him on when was turned down by many other dioceses. Himself and Peewee Herrman were like two peas in a pod!

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

Many of the stars of this blog make an appearance, including Sean Jones, who is a Pioneer no less. Who'd have thought it? There are so few seminarians now that they can bulk it out with class photos and individual photos of each seminarian. I wondered whether they sold soft drinks in the George. In Maynooth in the 80s Malibu was the preferred drink of seminarians of the giggling kind when they visited the Roost in the village. Male lay students used to give them funny looks.

    4. I visited Maynooth in 2007 as a guest for the diaconate ordanations. Later that night some members of the class were town out of the roost because the bar staff got fed up of drunk clerics saying the prayers of consecration over their pints and food, and blessing groups of people. It was the bar staff who found the behaviour to be offensive.

  48. Congratulations on your blog. You gave done the faithful a service. Lets be very clear about the gay issue and promiscuity. Gay seminarians and priests are fine - promiscuous ones aren't. I think the gay clergy got a massive wake-up call last year and were caught unawares by the public's reaction to the Maynooth Scandal. Remember the Irish public passed a marriage referendum. Gay clergy assumed that the faithful/Irish people would be fine with not only gay priests but actively gay priests. Irish people were not. The reaction of even the most liberal Irish people to the Maynooth Gay Saga caught Gay clergy unaware. THe most liberal and streetwise non-catholics were surprised and shocked by the story. Shocked by the hypocrisy. I am not saying that the street-wise Irish people suddenly became prudes. They didn't. They were just shocked and surprised and Gay clergy were not expecting it, at all. IT was only then the realisation dawned on the actively gay clergy to go back underground as it were and not flaunt their promiscuity

    2. Agreed. The laity don't care if a priest or seminarian is gay in orientation, or long before entering seminary they had those experiences - just the same as many straight men have. What they do care about is that someone who is coming forward to say that they are making a commitment to live a celibate life, and then being hypocritical - that sickens people.

    7. Here are the facts:

The Vatican’s Congregation for the Clergy issued a document on seminary formation which re-affirmed the ban on the admission of homosexuals to seminary.
The Gift of the Priestly Vocation states, “If a candidate practices homosexuality or presents deep-seated homosexual tendencies, his spiritual director as well as his confessor have the duty to dissuade him in conscience from proceeding towards ordination.”
This clarification, echoing a teaching of Pope Benedict XVI in 2005, suggests that men who experience same sex attraction at a profound level are unsuitable for ordination.
The document goes on to explain, “Such persons find themselves in a situation that gravely hinders them from relating correctly to men and women.” Put simply, the homosexual condition inhibits fully natural relationships with people.

That won't stop Anonymous at 20:20 and his ilk, of course, who know better.

      Delete
    8. ZeroTime, jog on, no one is interested in your psychological projections. In any event, assuming you are a man, you would be ineligible to apply to be a seminarian on account of a lack of intellectual ability given that you lack any understanding of how documents are interpreted and have a somewhat protestant tendency to assume that you have any business interpreting them at all. I assume you think that the text of the documents of the Fourth Lateran Council requiring Jews to wear special dress still applies - on the basis that you read it on the internet.

    9. Yes, myself and inconsequential men such as Cardinal Dolan of New York don't agree with your interpretation - but what the hell would Cardinal Dolan know or the vast majority of the world's bishops know?! They haven't consulted Zero Time who has read it on the INTERNET in a vacuum!

When you get to grips with the concept of "deep-seated homosexual tendencies", which is a concept entirely different to homosexual orientation, please do pat yourself on the back and buy yourself a big cake as a treat to yourself.

    11. ZeroTime, how do you know that the 'homosexual condition (whatever that is) inhibits fully natural relationships with people'? Are you speaking from personal experience? Or do you accept this solely on the word of two men (Popes Benedict and Francis) who aren't even remotely qualified, scientifically, to make such a judgement?

From your posts, you clearly loathe gays. Are you gay yourself? It's either this, or you're a woman with a homophobic axe to grind. Which is it?

If comments like yours had been broadcast when the young Pietro Barbo was thinking of becoming a priest in the 15th Century, it might have stopped him from applying. You probably know him better as Pope Paul II.

  49. Just wait until all this raises it's head during the abortion debate. Bishops taking over the airwaves to be met with images of deacons arses looking for sex being published. That should quieten them. Especially if they ordain the arses in question.

  50. I was once a prospective seminarian dying to get into Maynooth. I loved the look of the place.

HOW GLAD I AM now that I have changed my ways and am going to pursue another way of life.

Any of the seminarians who have been writing on this, please read this comment. YOU are putting people off with your antics. Please stop or just leave the Seminary.

    Regards,
    Glad 21 Yr Old

  56. Reading a lot of the comments here reveals the evil times we are in. The vile vermin get ordained while the good guys get kicked out. The chancers can Grindr away to their hearts content while the the ones who aspire to virtue and holiness are made walk the plank.

What clowns has God given us with the current incumbents in purple?

What has the Irish Church done to deserve this and why have the Irish saints abandoned us?

Does anyone know? Are we not praying hard enough for Maynooth to be reformed and for holy priests?

My Faith is nearly gone in the Church here.

    1. Pat, why aren't you in Rome as a little surprise for them? Just pitch up as they are all entering the Congregation for the Oriental Churches (a key issue for the Irish Bishops)? Then keep pitching up. That would have been fun.

    4. What a farce that they have nuns as vocational counsellors at Gaynooth. Not only have their communities not had a vocation in decades, but imagine the whimple clutching if it was suggested that men would have a say over the admission of the non-existant postulants?18 January 2017 at 07:22

  64. Fr Tom Norris may pack his bags so. Isn't he MB's Spiritual Director? In Rome? The Gift of the Priestly Vocation states, “If a candidate practices homosexuality or presents deep-seated homosexual tendencies, his spiritual director as well as his confessor have the duty to dissuade him in conscience from proceeding towards ordination.”

  65. It's weird. Irish people would be aghast to see a cleric with his ass in the air and his face on show in a pic, and another in a jockstrap. Why won't the papers publish them? Has the Sunday World toned down or something?

  71. 23.07 I don't think all those in the bus pic are compromised just by being in a picture but most of them are hot. As well as Gorgeous Michael Byrne, the guy in the blue tie is very hot and the others at the back are cute too. In fact the only ones that are not good looking are the two guys in glasses. Even King Puck looks alright......I'd love to see him in that jockstrap pic again!
