GORGEOUS - NEW SCANDAL

GORGEOUS BACK IN TOWN

A Dublin Archdiocese source informed me yesterday that Deacon Michael Gorgeous Byrne was back in Dublin for Christmas and the New Year.

The source says he spent the holidays in a private apartment rented for him by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin and Dublin Archdiocese!

Why he could not stay at home with his family is a mystery.

Surely the whole point in a seminarian coming home from Rome for Christmas is to spend that time with family?

Why he could not spend the holidays in a Dublin parish and living in a presbytery is another mystery.

After all as a deacon he should be getting parish and pastoral experience.

There has been no announcement yet as to whether Diarmuid Martin still intends ordaining him a priest this year as would be normal.

What other seminarian would have a private apartment rented for him in a town where his family live and in a diocese where there are 200 + parishes needing help at busy Christmas time.

Why spend Church money - people's money on Christmas apartments for seminarians when there are empty rooms in presbyteries from Balbriggan down to the Wexford border.

It is unheard of for dioceses to arrange private rented apartments for their seminarians / deacons.

What is Diarmuid Martin doing? What is Diarmuid Martin thinking of?

I now find myself asking the question: "Does G
orgeous have THE DIRT on someone important In Dublin, Maynooth or the Irish Church and is being given special treatment to keep him quiet"??

I am told by people who have been close to him that this is highly likely!

Quite frankly - WHAT IS GOING ON HERE ???

PORTSMOUTH NEWS:

After yesterday's Blog on Farnborough an English priest sent a pic to the Blog he wanted printed.

According to FATHER N this picture - and I quote him - shows:

"Phylis (Philip) Eagan on the right of a new novice and "Sadie" (Cuthbert) Brogan on his left.

It is getting more common in English dioceses and monasteries to put ladies names on the bishops / superiors.

The Archbishop of Birmingham is known as "Nursey" (Bernard) Longley.

Cardinal Murphy O'Connor was called "Spud" by some Westminster priests.

We know the Acting President of Maynooth is called Fanny Mullaney.

Maybe our priest readers will tell us of more episcopal pet names?

  1. As a priest I would never risk the scandal of having that excuse of a deacon stay over in my home. It would start rumours that would be very untrue and destroy me.

Maybe his family are too embarrassed for him if he isn't.

He should be out on his ear, and should have been last summer if not before.

    1. There can be only one reason why they are protecting him. They are keeping him sweet because, if they dismiss him, he will blow the whistle on the Big Names who have been in the sack with him.

Small wonder that there are no vocations in Dublin diocese, that parishes are dying and the Church withering.

The Catholic Faith is dying in Dublin and DM bears enormous responsibility for its demise. I fear that the man has no faith at all. He is a smarmy politician and there is no substance to him spiritually.

DM is not a man of God and, I believe, he could be compromised himself - in a very serious way. There is no other explanation as to why this deacon has not been removed months ago.

That there was no robust defense and counteraction against the allegations of this deacon's scandalous lifestyle - which you would expect if an innocent person was being slandered - points to the fact that "Gorgeous" is guilty of behaviour that is incompatible with the life of a seminarian, deacon and priest.

This is truly shocking beyond words. It is inconceivable that this man would be ordained. I fear you are quite right, Pat. This MJB boyo has some pretty big DIRT on some very high up DIRT BIRDS!!

I have absolutely no respect for Diarmuid Martin and I fear for the future of the Church in Dublin diocese.

      Dublin Catholic.

  3. Bishop Pat, perhaps Ab Martin thought it too risky to send his deacon to the family home. It might have drawn the press as quickly as flies are drawn to (what is that stuff?).

    1. Then why spend the money on his flight home for Christmas?

What would have been wring with a Christmas in the Eternal City?

      No, there is more........

    2. Who has paid any price in all of this since the scandal broke?

Hugh Connolly is the ex-president in all but name..
Is it confirmed that Paul Prior moved on in the middle of the year??

Are heads rolling in Maynooth without publicity? Is so why so.. particularly is this related to the ‘Gorgeous George’?? Just asking..

    5. The press haven't gone after Gorgeous - nor King Puck, Derwin, etc. despite the exposure of Gaynooth during the summer and the regular appearances on this blog of these individuals.

So, that wouldn't be a reason why Gorgeous had to be housed in a private location. If the press wanted Gorgeous, all they have to do is fly to Rome and wait outside the Irish College to interview him.

No, there is something terribly rotten in all of this. Pat, you are right - there is MUCH MUCH MORE!

    6. I'm beginning to think that zDiarmuid Martin is compromised.

What other rational explanation is there for his stance on gay seminarians, deacons, priests and his secret appointments to parishes.

In my 46 years in the Church zi have NEVER heard of an archbishop renting an apartment for a seminarian.

  4. Wow. Georgeous defo has some dirt on Ab Martin and others. I lost all hope in Ab Martin a long time ago. He is useless and a coward. Such a coward he wouldnt make public his Diocesan appointments this past September because he continues to cover up for Georgeous, Derwin, Brough etc. The sooner the better Martin is gone but I dread to see too who will come after him.

  7. I think the best one I've heard is the pet name of the father handsome and very traditional and conservative Bishop of Shrewsbury, Mark Davies - a real looker. He is known as "Dark Mavis".

He and Egan were appointed by the right wing Cardinal Marc Oulett at meetings of the Congregation for Bishops when Murphy O'Connor Was prevented from attending because of flight delays.

He was enraged. To this day he complains bitterly that these two right wingers were slipped in under his very nose.

I heard that he now jokes "serves me right for missing those flights."

Phylis and Mavis are very isolated among the English bishops who to a man are liberal and wet. You can be Nichols will never allow another conservative bishop to be appointed  as long as he rules in Westminster and England and Wales.

    2. Davies, Egan and Abbot Brogan are all darlings of the Latin Mass Society. The overwhelming majority of LMS supporting clergy in England are self-hating homosexuals. The situation has been made worse by the creation of the ludicrous Ordinariate for ex-Anglicans. Among Anglican clergy a "Friend of Dorothy" is euphemistically referred to as a member of the "Walsingham Tendency".

Gorgeous could have stayed in Gaynooth. Plenty of empty rooms there, and the domestic staff who cook for the priests stay on duty, even on Christmas day. If he cannot be allowed to stay in a presbytery now, where will he live if ordained.

  10. Perhaps D Martin could ring Arlene Foster and ask her to teach him a few diversion tactics. Why move his students to Rome? Maybe to take the heat of the situation or the heat of gorgeous more like.

  11. Cant understand why G needed his own apartment. When I was in Rome we only came home in Summer and I wanted to be with my family. There is the question of the expense as well. The press are not bothered any more. Sex and religion is dying out as a hot topic. I was told that nearly 20 years ago. The faithful need to take matters into their own hands but are they able without appropriate support. As my mam used to say Talk is cheap. Much has been said but in reality feck all has been done.

    1. Yes, nothing IS being done, is it? And proof of this is the fact that Ab Martin believes he can allow Deacon Byrne to proceed to ordination regardless of the scandal it is causing in the Irish Church.

It's becoming more and more difficult to dismiss the suspicion that Ab Martin (or someone(s) episcopally close to him) is very seriously compromised by Byrne.

It'll end in tears and I-told-you-sos.

  12. I think there is a scandal brewing. Some people are being protected here by senior clerics. Did someone not claim on this blog sometime ago that they were protected in the Seminary by a gay mafia. Seems to be happening again.

  21. Has anyone any idea why new appointments to the Irish Bishop's Conference seems to have dried up? There are 4 bishops well beyond retirement age - Clonfert, Cork & Ross, Meath and Raphoe while Clogher, Galway and Ossory are vacant due to bishops resigning on health grounds. So we have 7 dioceses in need of new bishops yet, the most recent appointment was to Killaloe last September! What the hell is Charlie Brown doing......or not doing? It's a mystery why no recent appointment has been made. Any thoughts Pat?

  24. Maybe the oft-mooted reduction in dioceses might happen. Is it true that Clonfert has only 13 parishes. That's ridiculous. Back to Gorgeous. Why does he have a sultry/seductive pose in photos where he's wearing his collar?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because he knows he's gorgeous and when you're as sexy looking as he is you may as well flaunt it! I bet he has other seminarians (and priests) drooling over him in Rome.
Clonfert has about 21 parishes, roughly the same as Dromore but it has only about 25000 catholics so it's got about two big parishes in terms of population. Killala & Achonry are similar. They have only got 25 priests in Dromore so it's crazy!

  25. ++ Bernard of Birmingham: I think he just looks like my Great Aunt Maude in repose. He's a a gentle and nice man, although I don't doubt there is steel in him and if he needs to be tough he can be. He keeps a low profile but works away quietly and effectively on things. I think he could be in the running to take over from ++ Vinnie when his time to go comes, which can't be more than three or four years off. (I guess + Marcus of Leeds could be in the running, but he's still a bit young). We could do with someone who is humble and not as ambitious and self-interested as is Vinnie. I think Vinnie is still hoping that he will be whisked off to Rome so that he can squeeze out a few more years from his red hat rather than having to step down at 75. Hopefully that won't happen and he will just quietly fade in to the shadows in some grace and favour residence in the Home Counties, or maybe he will head back to Liverpool / Merseyside - although, maybe not ! By the way, I'd love to have listened in to a phone call between + Noel and Vinnie when the former had to tell him that Hugh was laying down his ministry for a second time ! I'd say Noel has burned his boats there with Vinnie and there won't be any more favours done.
