ITALIAN PRIEST ACCUSED OR ORGIES AND PIMPING:
(Independent News Service)

Catholic Father Andrea Contin, a parish priest in the northern city of Padua in Veneto, is under police investigation on suspicion of living off immoral earnings and psychological violence.
A variety of sex toys and videos, purportedly showing orgies taking place on the San Lazzaro church premises, have been seized after complaints from three female parishioners.
The 48-year-old also allegedly concealed pornographic home videos in covers bearing the names of various popes.
He is accused of farming out some of his lovers to men on wife-swapping websites, according to The Times.
The priest also allegedly took his female friends for stays at a naturist and swingers resort in Cap d’Agde on the southern French coast.

Complaints were reportedly first made to the local bishop last summer but church authorities did not police, saying they had not yet completed their own investigation.
One 49-year-old church volunteer, who says she had an affair with Father Contin and had sex with him in the rectory, told Il Mattino di Padova: “There were a lot of women hovering around him. I didn’t understand that at first, only later.”
The same news website reported that Father Contin was on holiday in Croatia, where his family visit yearly.
It quoted city mayor Paolo Tonin as saying: “They are also trying to protect him from the clamour of this story that has now gone national.”
Father Contin has not been arrested but a prosecutor was investigating the allegations.

Pope's bank clean-up man 'found stuck in elevator with rent boy'

As the man charged with cleaning out the stables at the scandal-struck Vatican bank, Monsignor Battista Ricca will need Machiavellian cunning, good fortune and a whiter-than-white record to have even a fighting chance.

But Pope Francis’s new banker appears to possess none of these attributes after it was reported that he was found stuck in a lift with a rent boy. Msgr Ricca, as Francis’s new primate with responsibility for the troubled financial institution, known officially as the IoR (Institute for Religious Works), is supposed to usher in new transparency and badly needed reforms after years of financial scandal.

A major report from finance police and magistrates warned that a lack of checks and controls by the IoR and the Italian financial institutions it had dealings with made the Vatican’s bank a money-laundering hot spot.

It is claimed that Msgr Ricca, 57, impressed Francis with the way he ran three key residences used by cardinals, bishops and priests visiting Rome. But detailed claims have emerged detailing how in 1999, Ricca took a Vatican diplomatic posting in Uruguay and moved his lover, Patrick Haari, a Swiss army captain, in with him, to the outrage of church figures and locals in the conservative South American nation. Captain Haari was forced out by the hardline Polish nuncio Janusz Bolonek in 2001.

But there were more problems for Ricca when he was attacked in a cruising ground that year, and soon after firemen had to rescue him from a broken lift, in which he was trapped with a youth known by local police. The weekly news magazine L’Espresso claims that Msgr Ricca was able to get the position as IoR prelate because the supposedly powerful “gay lobby” in the Vatican airbrushed his colourful CV.

Gay sex scandals at the Vatican have made the headlines before. In 2010 it emerged that one of Pope Benedict’s ceremonial ushers and a member of the Vatican choir were involved in a gay prostitution ring.

Vatican spokesman Padre Federico Lombardi sought to dismiss the claims about Msgr Ricca’s private life. “What has been claimed about Msgr Ricca is not credible,” he said. Msgr Ricca himself has not yet responded to the allegations. But La Repubblica noted that the Vatican had emphasised that his appointment as prelate for the IoR was technically an interim one, thus raising the possibility that the job might not last long.
PAT SAYS:

A Catholic author wrote a rew years ago:

"SEX WILL BE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH'S 20TH CENTURY GALILEO"

It has come to pass.

- Priests at orgies and pimping women.

- Gay seminarians in Maynooth and other seminaries on GRINDR.

- Father Rory Coyle on GRINDR.

- Gay sex at World Youth Day between priests and men.

- The Armagh Cilla Sofa.

- ARCHBISHOP DIARMUID MARTIN renting  GORGEOUS  a privately rented apartment for Christmas.

- GOINGS ON at abbeys.

- Cardinal Keith O'Brien seducing priests and seminarians in Confession.

- Seminary formators asking about erections.

Its all so crazy you could hardly dream it up for a work of fiction.

BUT ITS HAPPENING FOR REAL - in The Vatican, In Dublin, In Maynooth, in Armagh, In England........................................

It seems in the Catholic Church the SEX BOMB is both ticking and exploding !!!

  1. What seems to be coming to light is how many clerics are abusing their office and not giving a toss for consequences. Jesus lamented for his flock who had no shepherds. The clock has gone full circle. Shepherds are lacking once more. In the middle ages people were afraid to speak out. Now the church should not be in a position to bully anyone. We concentrate on symptoms such as sexual deviance and attempt to write the wrong. While doing this is anyone addressing spiritual renewal and feeding the flock that is currently in a modern wilderness

  2. Funny, Don Contin isn't a looker, he isn't really one you would picture being a sex fiend. What's the betting he disappears while in Croatia?

    1. Your logic is terrible. One blog can hardly show that clerical abusers are rare. Remember: Most abusers do not get caught.
Most abusers get away with it for it can be hard to prove especially if the abuse happened decades before.
Most paedophile priests settle for activities that cannot be recognised as abuse such as visiting the schools to see children doing gymnastics.
Many paedophile priests cannot connect enough with children to groom them.
Many people get sexual outlets these days not by sexual activity but by porn.
All priests still protect their fellow priests who abuse and who pretend to be celibate. The one who covers up is worse than any abuser.

    2. But today's blog is not even about paedophiles or child abuse or cover up. Your comment on my logic seems all pots and kettles.

  4. All in all, another good priest.

Sexual malpractice was ever a problem for the Church, because it was very much in the Church through her ministers; it is not, as Mary Kenny naively declared, largely a 20th century phenomenon.

Early Church documents refer to molestation of children and minors by priests, and to what should be done about it.

I suspect patriarchy has a causal role in this abuse. Church patriarchy can be corrupting and, as we've seen in recent times, not all candidates for the priesthood have sufficient moral fibre to resist the temptations, which can and do manifest sexually.

The solution? Open up the ministerial priesthood to male AND female candidates. And ditch a certain theology of priesthood which is really clericalism dressed up to look good. Make the priesthood more of a privilege and far less an ontologically exalted state. This would better express the servant model of discipleship commanded by Christ.

    1. Actually the solution is for the church to act when people tell it these things are going on.

    2. I think you are both right. Frankly as a Catholic I have lost all faith in the hierarchy - they are hypocritical and corrupt and it is no wonder it filters down to the priests to act in the same way. So many times it has been said on this blog that we have moved away from the simple church Christ Jesus intended us to have. The pomp and ceremony, the rules they dictate to us but don't live out themselves, the constant shame of what priests and bishops perpetrated on the vulnerable - it has nothing to do with Christ. I personally don't care for the celibacy requirement. I think it serves absolutely no purpose. It is like saying to them "no chocolate". Then all they can think of is chocolate. This 'holier than thou' exalted state is wrong. As Magna Carta says it should be a privilege and perhaps WE should be choosing who leads us in our faith; who intercedes for us if indeed there is even a need for that. I have known several truely good priests but I have known some who weren't fit to wear vestments and had not an ounce of Christianity about them.

      Delete
    3. You've hit a nail squarely on its head, 14:07. Yes, if they're told they can't have 'chocolate' (romance, etc), then that is precisely what will often dominate their thoughts. And the outlet of this emotional tug-of-war: sometimes sexually deviant behaviour.

It's an old, old story (the lure of forbidden fruit) and, according to Genesis, it brought about the moral fall of humankind in paradise.

Denying people such a primordial need (relationship, physical intimacy, etc) was bound to end in tears since it isn't good for everyone. Isn't it why God created a companion for Adam, since he saw it was not good for a person to be alone?

12:39, yes, for the Church to act promptly would be the solution...or, rather, part of it. But let's face it, while the Church continues to consider her ministers ontologically different from (in reality, superior to) lay folk, it will continue trying to shield them from public scandal if it can. This clerical self-aggrandizement is, in my opinion, partly due to patriarchy within the Church and partly to theologically elevated notions of priesthood.

  5. Yes. I agree. Pat does a bit of recycling of names but that's only because they are the ones pat knows about. I live in a large English diocese and a very close priest friend has told me about an ongoing situation involving 9 priests in that diocese. When this thing hits the press the faithful will go crazy.

Irish bishops only get rid of rigid seminarians who believe in the Catholic Faith, or who kneel at Mass, or who catch other seminarians in bed with each other and don't join in!

  11. Pat that story about Ricca is years old and totally out of date. Francis was taken in by him when he was first elected as he was the priest in charge of the residence where Francis used to stay when he visited Rome (Casa del Clero) and the Sancta Martha where he stayed in the conclave and now lives. Ricca was very kindly to him. Rocca had been demoted for his misbehaving and Francis, newly elected, took pity on him and was taken in by him without knowing the full details. He appointed him to oversee the bank changes, having had the details deliberately kept from him. When he ratified the appointment then his enemies in the Curia let the whole story out (including the story of being trapped in the lift with the escort - not denied_. When told bout this Francis said "who am I to judge?" but soon after Monsignor Ricca was removed from his post in the bank, and is now living quietly in retirement. Sure he was to blame for not fully revealing his background, but it was Francis's enemies in the Curia who are more to blame for trying to de rail his attempts to clean out the stables. This all happened three years ago, by the way. Just for the record.

The one of him as a marine is stomach churning and no, I wouldn't want him baptising my children. And it has nothing to do with his sexuality or alleged promiscuity. He's just vain and I find that distasteful.

    1. Fr X claims that his bishop told him to be "discreet". No bishops' names were mentioned. Fr X, who claims he is having gay sex with a 17 year old Protestant DUP party worker, is believed to be a priest of the Armagh archdiocese and a PP in Co Louth. Hence the assumption that it was Éamon Martin who - he claims - told him to be "discreet". It is also likely that it could have been the Wounding Hurter, Sean Brady though.
