TIMBO AND AMY

TIMBO AND AMY

IRISH CHURCH POLITICS

FR TIMOTHY BARTLETT
This Blog has often discussed the Irish priest who is dying to be a bishop - FR TIMOTHY BARTLETT

We know that is watching with hope every Irish diocese that becomes vacant hoping that he will get that diocese.

How can an ambitious priest go about becoming a bishop?

Well a very good way is to get yourself well in with other members of the hierarchy.

We know that TIMBO was the one who invented the name: THE WOUNDED HEALER for Cardinal Sean Brady when he was disgraced for questioning two boys in a room without their parents after they were abused by FATHER BRENDAN SMYTH.

Well TIMBO has now latched on to Cardinal Brady's replacement in Armagh and is pleasing AMY MARTIN by telling her what a wonderful singing voice she has.

Here is a video of Timbo filming Amy in an empty Knock chapel singing a song for him.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

AND of course if you want to climb the Church ladder it always helps if you are a CHAPLAIN to a Church OLD BOYS CLUB like the KNIGHTS AND DAMES OF THE HOLY SEPULCHUR OF JERUSALEM.

Here is TIMBO preaching at his own initiation.

AND THERE WAS US THINKING THAT ALL THAT WAS HAPPENING IN MAYNOOTH WAS THE BOYS GETTING THEIR KACKS OFF TO JUMP INTO BED WITH EACH OTHER!

HERE WE SEE THE OTHER BOYS PUTTING ON EXTRA GEAR!

  1. You really couldn't make this up, could you?

No wonder the Irish Church is going down the tubes with Grindr, Gaynooth, etc.

Would someone in Rome, in the Name of Jesus Christ, please intervene and rescue the Irish Catholic Church from the likes of Tim Bartlett?

Timo craves to be a bishop does he? This unctuous and creepy politician has never even tried his vocation as a priest!!

Could you also, while you are at it, find a wee job for Eamon Martin in a convent where the old nuns can coo at his lovely singing and feed him cream buns??

For the man cannot cope with Rory Coyle, Fr X and all the other giggling and jiggling priests and seminarians in his diocese!

Also, give Diarmuid Martin early retirement and call media star Charles Brown back to Rome; for all this scandal - Grindr, Gaynooth, Gorgeous, King Puck, etc. etc. that is crippling the Church, is happening right under his nose!!

  2. Jesus condemns the thirst for power when his disciples desire it. It's one of his big gripes. Love of power should be one of the big sins because it can be such a dangerous thing. The obsession is still with sexual sins. Priests who fall in that area are sent to clinics or retreat centres. The church should also get tough on power seekers. Power hungry clerics should be made to serve in a homeless shelter or nursing home doing the hard hands on work. That kind of real service can be humbling.it brings home to us our common vulnerability no matter how powerful, important and special we delude ourselves into thinking we are. None of us will exit this life alive, so in a sense we;re all powerless. The church is at its best when it questions our grandiose delusions. I pray that wannabee bishops or wannabee anything for that matter will become acquainted with failure and suffering. It's a great teacher. It can grant a good sense of perspective, a sense of humility and a sense of humour knowing we're not really in control of anything in our lives despite our best efforts to believe we are.

  3. Excellent point at 12:16 - those addicted to power can be very corrosive and destructive in the Church.

It is doubtful that careerists like Timothy Bartlett have genuine priestly vocations. He certainly feels personally "called" to important and exalted positions in the Church but a good way of testing him and his like would be service for some years in a challenging pastoral situation.

Bartlett has always fled pastoral engagement, spending his time with gadgets and devices, as he calculated his "rise" and made "connections".

He certainly is the very last man who should be considered for bishop in the Irish Church today.

    1. Is there any real evidence that Timo aspires to be a bishop or is it all just malicious gossip from people who don't like him ? Just wondering.

    2. Everyone who knows TB will confirm that his ambitions, desires and cravings are colossal and all-consuming.

Timmy is absolutely determined to become a bishop and nothing and no one is going to get in his way.

Like Paddy Walsh of old, Bartlett has set himself to become a bishop. He should take a good long look at PW today and take note of the sad, lonely, frightened and friendless old man he has become waiting for his death.

For what shall it profit a man should he gain a mitre and suffer the loss of his soul. Methinks TB doesn't give a damn about his soul so long as he gets his mitre.

      Senior cleric.

    3. Now what would be real evidence? Do we need to see videos of tb secretly dressed up in the sacred purple? Or does he need to go around with "I want to be be a bishop" daubed on his forehead with a copy of the dummies guide "how to be a bishop" under his arm as he boards a plane to Rome to sneak into the next baby bishop course? Just wondering

  4. Sad that the faithful are left to their own devices while the boyos play dressy up games. Thing is on here is a relatively captive audience. What's going on in the parishes

  5. Interesting that Timbo was the first Catholic Priest to address a DUP Conference. There are some within the DUP who have taken a shine to Catholic Priests.

  6. Let's get a bit of perspective. It is all unwholesome and unwelcome. But King Puck et al are hardly the cause of the crisis in the Church in Ireland. That there is a crisis is in no doubt. But these issues are a manifestation of the fundamental crisis in Ireland - and that crisis is secularisation and, within those who remain in the Church, a relativistic outlook. Making the church more open, more accessible, more favourable to the poor, more transparent - all good things. But they will not draw people back to the church or stem the tide of secularisation. It is not unique to Ireland. The only thing that will change things is if people have their faith rekindled and pray. We certainly do not want politicking priests being appointed bishops. But neither should we commentators be politicking about their appointment. Instead we need to examine ourselves and pray, while at the same time analysing this crisis in a more profound manner.

I sincerely hope that people will read and reflect on what you have just said here for you reach right to the heart of the overall problem I believe that you correctly identify its cause. (You do that in one particularly pertinent sentence, but I will leave others to pinpoint that sentence for themselves---).

      Thank you.

  7. Pat,
Will someone in the catholic hierarchy or some member of this elitist organisation please tell me what the hell is the connection between this outfit and the naked and crucified Christ dying on the cross or the child, wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger.
Perhaps if somebody does respond could they also tell me how many knights or dames have a home address in Turf Lodge or Finglas

  8. A big parcel arrived today. Stuffed with beautiful little booklets and prayer cards in preparation for the world meeting of families. The accompanying letter dated 1st December was from no less a person than the Secretary General in Dublin asking us to display the booklets and the prayer cards beside the Crib. Sadly ours has already been tidied away by an overzealous sacristan. Father is not making the best use of his opportunity. The Lord hints somewhere that the prizes are for those who have shown competence in the small things, though apparently the nuncio is always ready with a dispensation.

    1. Yes, ours arrived too late for the Crib too! Wouldn't it be awful if Timo has bitten off more than he can chew?? ;-)

  9. How can you be sure Timbo made that recording of Amy, Pat? Amy must really have not one ounce of sense putting stuff like that on Youtube. He's a big enough figure of ridicule as it is!

Unless, of course, Timo is recording and posting it, under a pretense of flattering Amy, with a view to someone in Rome seeing it and realising they need to get 'thon eejit' out of office - thus clearing the way for slick and Machiavellian Bartlett to get Armagh!!!

  10. Pat I told you about a certain lay person in that video and how he bullied Michael Byrnes so called 'FRIEND'. there he is in the video with a somber face like butter wouldn't melt. If what I've heard of him is true then this lay person is the ULTIMATE manipulator. He has access to sensitive information. An example of how the smoke of satan has entered the Irish church. another grindr and tindr man whose preference is for men. I know prominent people in the Irish Church who have been informed about him.

  11. Papa Franciscus is well able to turn a flame-thrower on the Curia in the Vatican, scathingly condemning their "politics" and antics, referring to "charming liars" and so on.

Maybe he will scorch the Irish bishops during their ad limina for Gaynooth, Grindr, etc. ??

By the way, Santissimo Padre, if you are reading this, do not allow the "charming" Fr Timothy Bartlett from Belfast to become a bishop. He is the exact opposite of everything you yourself say that a true bishop should be.

  12. Just watched the video . What a bunch of scary weirdos looks like a old farts kkk reunion . Is it any wonder young people stay away from the Catholic Church! I wonder what they all did when the camera switched off , maybe they all ate a baby or sumthin . I swear L Ron Hubbard couldn't have made that up and he was bat shit crazy !

  13. I found that video of the knights very off putting and far from the spirit of the Gospel. Even the cardinal knighting them with a sword like the queen of England does, seemed anachronistic and out of place. It's all very pretentious and self aggrandising and could have been taken out of The Lord of the Rings. It's good the pope is trying to undermine this type of culture, but he has an uphill battle. There are still huge egos in the clerical and 'knight' worlds. No wonder people get turned off religion with this medieval claptrap. And that's all it is- just religion, little to do with real faith, sanctity and self sacrifice.

  17. Just watched video. It's a step back to rites of the middle ages. I suppose it parallels many of the order lodges in the U S. Knights etc are still part of the Vatican. I would imagine this is very far from what Jesus had in mind but does have parallels in civil society

  18. Hierarchy at its worst and it is sad to see professional/wealthy members of the laity also buying into it and giving it oxygen. All so very pompous and vain. What normal person would go around dressed like Don Quixote or the Duchess of Malfi? Money, power and privilige, the three things that even the church can't resist-that's what it's all about.Jesus and his disciples in the upper room wouldn't get a look in if they turned up to such an event.

  19. Aw yes I really like Radcliffe from the UK alongside Chris Jamison too , have to admit I think new bishop of Killaloe Bishop Fintan has started well

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nope. Last summer Fintan said that people who leave Maynooth and complain about it are people who are bitter about being asked to leave. He immedately dismissed complaints without considering the potential merit. As an ex-seminarian I am happy to have got out alive but I also know that people who complain about it may have genuine complaints. Fintan is a company man.

  20. Timothy Radcliffe? Chance would be a fine thing. That is never going to happen. He is an Englishman, born and bred. Any candidate for episcopal office in Ireland must be an Irish-born priest of an Irish diocese, or an Irish-born member of a Religious Order. That is the convention that has been observed for the past centuries. In England and Wales there are many bishops who had Irish grandparents; some indeed had Irish parents, and a few were born in Ireland themselves (Stack in Cardiff - born in Donegal; Campbell in Lancaster - born in Larne), but they were all priests of English dioceses or the English Province of their Order. Timothy Bartlett will be named a bishop in Ireland in the not too distant future. The next Archbishop of Dublin will be Bishop Paul Tighe (Secretary of the Communications Dicastery in Rome). Remember you heard it here first. Vatican Insider.

    1. I have been saying it will be Tighe. DM wants him too.

      Delete
    2. Bartlett should NOT be made a bishop. They will regret it and will have even more "egg" all over their faces.

Paul Tighe - another soulless functionary - a worthy successor to DM.

The hirelings are running the show and not a true shepherd in sight.

      Delete
    3. There is nothing earthshaking in your prediction of Tighe succeeding Martin, Vaticanista. You don't need to be an "Insider" to know that.

Furthermore, if Bartlett is appointed a bishop, tell your masters in Rome they are rewarding very bad behaviour and they are appointing a bishop who is the antithesis of Pope Francis' criteria for the episcopate.

They will also be perpetuating the sickness and dysfunction that is weakening the Irish Catholic Church, by promoting this man, Timothy Bartlett who, all his life as a priest, has studiously avoided meaningful pastoral engagement with the faithful.

And that is the least of the characteristics that make him unsuitable!

  21. Radcliffe is a total gent and very wise. He turned down a bishopric in England. Alan White, highly intelligent Dominican, Professor of Church History at Allen Hall Seminary, London, turned down a Bishopric to Portsmouth or Plymouth at the very last minute.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe that's why Browne has given us very mediocre bishops under his tenure and is so slow to appoint new bishops. The ones who'd be good at it are probably too wise and intelligent to accept the office and so it;s given to less capable candidates down the list.

    2. Read the life of St Gregory Naziansus, doctor and father of the church. He was made a bishop basically against his will.

      Delete
    3. Knowing the calibre of current Irish Dominicans well I'd caution against a 'predictably solid' one leading an Irish diocese. Btw, Tim Radcliffe is way to canny to accept a diocese. He is ever mindful of Albert Magus who did so erroneously.

  25. There is nothing like a Dame! What a load of clerical shite!
Two Dublin priests can beeen clearly seen among the concelebranti Des Doyle - Chaplain Dublin Airport and PP River Valley and behind him Finbar Neylon C.C. Kilbarrack. What do they hope to gain. Pope Francis is 100% right!

    ReplyDelete
  26. The Catholic Church in Ireland needs a total break with everyone and everything associated with Cardinal Sean Brady - most especially - the complete d***head - whose sick mind dreamt up the "Wounded Healer" gross insult to Brendan Smyth's victims!!!

Apart from all that, Tim Bartlett is a complete feckin' eejit! He is a buffoon who majors in pranks, rumours, gossip, intrigue and downright mischief!! That is what he is good at, as well as licking some big, fat, prominent ecclesiastical, political and secular arses.

If enough concerned priests, in the dioceses who are in danger of Bartlett being appointed as bishop, wrote to the Nuncio and said "for God's sake, do not appoint this man as our bishop!", then Rome would have to think twice, before foisting this clown, Timo, on some unfortunate Irish presbyterate and Ekklesia!!

Maybe some concerned persons should start a "STOP BARTLETT" Campaign, given the seemingly imminent danger of him getting his own way and successfully manoeuvring himself into a Cathedra, somewhere on this dear land of our birth? ??

I agree with nauseating comments about that video. I was only able to tolerate four minutes of it.
In relation to Bartlett, observant readers may recall that on 24th December I asked, in view of previous negative comments, if anyone could indicate some of his redeeming qualities. More than a week later no one had: only more negatives. I then drew attention to that and even more negative comments ensued.
So now we have even more criticisms.

Surely if after all this he is made a bishop it simply would underline the appalling state of the RC hierarchical institution.
