RAVING FONSEY REFUSES ME COMMUNION

I traveled 300 miles to Waterford yesterday to attend the Funeral Mass of my old friend and college professor MONSIGNOR SHINE.

AND for the first time in 30 years I was REFUSED HOLY COMMUNION by the RC bishop of Waterford FONSEY CULLINAN.

RAVING FONSEY
A number of Waterford priests have already sent messages of apology to me for their bishop becoming so aggressive on the sanctuary. As one said:

"His eyes and face were black with anger"

Later several members of the congregation apologised to me in the graveyard.

As one elderly said to me: "With all the scandals bishops and priests have imposed upon us poor laity how Cullinan had the nerve to you refuse communion is beyond me". The mind boggles".

FONSEY is an arch conservative and a follower of THE RIGHT WING CATHOLIC CULT - OPUS DEI.

Fonesy even failed to offer Monsignor Shine's family the Sign of Peace in case he would have to offer it to me sitting beside the family !!!

He also headed in my direction at communion time instead of giving communion to the bereaved family? ??

I think his attack on me was premeditated!

His anger so exhausted him he needed a glass of water!!"

Fonsey & Co have not refused communion to all the priests who have sexually abused children!

THEY GAVE SMYTH HOLY COMMUNION EVERYDAY AND A PRIESTS FUNERAL!

Fonsey and Co have never refused communion to all the priests who have raped woman and priests and fathered children!

Fonsey & Co have not refused communion to Cardinal Keith O'Brien who tried to sexually seduce seminarians and priests in Confession!

Fonsey and Co have never refused communion to the nuns who buried 700 babies in a sewerage tank in Galway!

Fonsey and Co have never refused communion to the priests who have stolen millions from the church!

Fonsey & Co have never refused communion to the Maynooth seminarians who are practising oral and anal sex in the seminary!

But they have refused communion to me BECAUSE I AM HIGHLIGHTING ABSOLUTE THEIR CORRUPTION AND CHALLENGING THEIR ABUSIVE POWER.

FONSEY MADE A SHOW OF HIMSELF YESTERDAY IN TRAMORE PARISH CHURCH!

HE CAUSED A DISGRACEFUL SCENE AT THE FUNERAL OF A 92 YEAR OLD PRIEST!

FONSEY YOU HAVE SHOWN YOU TRUE COLOURS!

MONSIGNOR JOHN SHINE

Monsignor John Shine (91) - one of my longest priest friends - died in Waterford Ireland on Saturday last. He was in his 92nd year.

He was my college professor and president and I have known him for 44 years and our friendship was totally unhindered by anything that happened in either of our lives.

I hope he is happy in Heaven.

  2. Shame on you Phonsie. What a hypocrite you are. Preach about Reconciliation and mercy then treat Bishop Pat the way you did. You dont have thecright to refuse any one Holy Communion. If anyone should not receive, it should be yourself for the way you treated another Bishop. Yes, I said BISHOP. BISHOP Pat will be more of a Bishop then you will ever be Phonsie. You brought shame on yourself and your Diocese yesterday. How dare you cause a scene at the Funeral of a loved and caring Priest. Your Priests and people are embarrased deeply by your actions. You are no Christian. You are not suitable to be a leader, never mind a Bishop. You obvisiously made the funeral of msgr Shine all about you. You must be a very insecure person and attention seeker who thinks your shit does not smell. Run along now to your Opus Dei clowns and resign as bishop of Waterford and Lismore. Shame shame shame on you.

  5. He should be worried about more important things. How the diocese lost many priests in the past 20 years. Men into their eighties still acting as full time PPs. He is turning to India to fill vacancies. Hardly a thriving diocese. Throwing a strop in public is disedifying and counter productive. People don't buy that carry on anymore. Imagine any wavering catholics there yesterday. I'd venture there might be one or two people so disgusted they'll never set foot in a church again.

  6. Pat while this was a deeply unpleasant and no doubt embarrassing episode for you (and by the sound of it, other mourners) why did you present yourself for communion in a Roman Church? You tell us time and again on this site that you are not a Roman Catholic, so why they would you wish to be seen to be "in communion" with the Roman Catholic Church? Its a matter of logic. It may well be painful for you to hear this Pat but I think the bishop was right to refuse you communion. You are no longer a Roman Catholic, what you have done (becoming a bishop without Papal Mandate) has resulted in the Roman Catholic Church excommunicating you (i.e., literally ex communing you from themselves, and I think its time to fully accept this and to move on with your life. Perhaps it would have been better just to present yourself for a blessing? I don't know. Whats for sure is that many will interpret this as a just another "mad publicity stunt" by Pat Buckley, and all the more egregious as it was done at the funeral of a man you called a friend. Sorry if this sounds hard, but its how it appears to me as an outside and a friend.

  10. Sorry to hear about yesterday and obviously those closest to the deceased were hurt the most by this spectacle. I don't know the exact details so I can't comment on the degree of Pat's fault, if any. However, I was at a papal mass in Baku in 2002 held in a basketball hall as there were only about a 100 native Azerbaijani Catholics in the entire country. However, it did attract lots of sightseers and gawkers out for the day to see John Paul and I tagged along with one of my Turkish students and her large group of female Turkish friends, all wearing headscarves in a style that distinctly distinguished them as Muslim Turks. Indeed, the reason why they were in Azerbaijan was because they had either been expelled from Turkish universities or refused admission because the headscarf was then against national university regulations and their and/or families' strict interpretation of Islam prevented them from showing their hair outside. Anyway, communion time came and I tried to push my way up but it was a nightmare as practically everybody in the building wanted to receive communion, ideally hoping for the pope himself to be the one to administer it to them. Meeting up with the girls outside, they told me that all of them, except for my immediate friend, had received communion, a couple from actually from the pope himself. I saw lots of other Islamic women that day join the queue for communion too. It's clear they were Islamic and Turkish as Azeris then didn't wear headscarves and dressed in a western-Russian manner. I'm sure the same thing happens all the time when non-Catholics receive communion, usually out of curiosity. However, nobody when I was there, whether it was the Pope, his diplomats or entourage or local priest(whoever he was and whether he was actually Azeri) tried to stop them.

  11. Pat its not a matter of what Jesus would have done. Jesus has nothing to do with it. We are talking about the Institution. You should not have presented yourself for communion in a Roman Catholic Church because you are not a Roman Catholic. You were a Roman Catholic once and you are a Roman Catholic Priest, but in attempting ordination as bishop you have been expelled from the Roman Catholic Church, whether you like it, or can see it, or can accept it, or not. Its rather like the rules of a golf club. You belong to Balmoral Golf Club, for the sake of argument, you then go off and set up your own golf club across the road from your former club and do everything you can to attack and undermine Balmoral Golf Club. You then turn up to one of the main functions of the Balmoral Golf Club and expect to be welcomed and fed and watered with those you have spent tears attacking and condemning and seeking to undermine. Come on Pat for goodness sake wise up. The bishop was right to refuse you communion, for him to have done anything otherwise would have been a scandal. I really believe its time you accepted this and moved on. You have many important and interesting things to say, but stop banging on about the institution that expelled you. The more you do, the more it appears that they really have hurt you and that they still control you actions and reactions. Thats no way to live your life. Come on Pat. Break free. While there is time left.

    4. Discipline,by its very nature,is not easy. Otherwise it wouldn't be discipline.
      Discipline is not something "done to me". Rather it simply confirms a choice to separate myself that I have already made. Therein lies its justice.
      Take the analogy of an exam (in normal and fair circumstances)-The examiner, in a sense, doesn't "fail me" today. He merely confirms formally a choice I have already made - and perhaps have been making by my indolence all year - - to fail myself. I made the choice. It was his responsibility to act in a manner fair to the other candidates and fair to me and verify the choice I had made. We are not separated and excluded from the Church by anyone unless we CHOOSE it. If that's your choice, fair enough, live with it and move on while accepting the consequences of your choice. It can be a tough one and I am not judging anyone here.

      Delete
    5. 14:56, it is, in a literal sense, infinitely more important not to be separated from Christ by choice rather than from the Church.

  15. +Pat I for one know how you feel, when you not in communion you get all that goes with it. I have used your statement beginning with "What would Jesus" or "Where does it say" on many occassions.

    I believe the good honest Irish Roman Catholic's don't know where to turn or go. Those strong enough and with little knowledge of faith have simply walked away. The good Catholic is unaware that they have the one time Canon Law right to transfer their loyalties to another Catholic Rite such as Eastern.

    I no longer consider myself Roman because of these Bishop’s and priests who abuse their vocation. Hell will never burn out for the fuel they provide.

    Your desire to honour a friend should have been recognised. The bishop with a small b dishonoured his rank, he should have offered his apology and then gave you a blessing. Whilst running the risk of you saying rightly that he refused you communion. If he had not given the out burst beforehand +Pat would you have went near him at communion???

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yes, thats right Jesus has nothing to do with it, as Jesus did not found a church, not institute a priesthood, nor wish his followers to have any structure that would interfere with their direct communication with His Father in Heaven. That applies to St Peters in Rome and the Oratory in Larne. Religion, and the structures they impose, are all man made. The fact that you call yourself 'bishop' and dress up as such is as much an indication that you still belong to the institution as any of those fools gathered yesterday in County Waterford. Its all a myth Pat. Free yourself.

  17. So for all of you people who think that The idiot was right to refuse BISHOP Pat Holy Communion, shame on you all. Even stating that Jesus has nothingbto do with it. Are you fecking kidding me ?. You are so caught in the mindset of the institution. Seems to me that the Bishop lost an ideal,opportunity here.
    How nice it would has been to welcome Pat Buckley, to appreciate his presence and the 300 mile drive to honour his old professor. To perhaps admit our serious differences but be aware of the things which hold us together - few that they might be!
    The big question - what would Jesus have done. Surely better than this.

    A time like this demands
    Strong minds, great hearts, true faith and ready hands;
    Men whom the lust of office does not kill;
    Men whom the spoils of office can not buy;
    Men who possess opinions and a will;
    Men who have honor; men who will not lie;
    Men who can stand before a demagogue
    And damn his treacherous flatteries without winking!
    Tall men, sun-crowned, who live above the fog
    In public duty, and in private thinking;
    For while the rabble, with their thumb-worn creeds,
    Their large professions and their little deeds,
    Mingle in selfish strife, lo! Freedom weeps,
    Wrong rules the land and waiting Justice sleeps.

  23. I would have thought it would have been a bishop's priority to avoid this kind of unpleasantness - and that goes for both bishops involved here. The one need not have provoked and the other need not have allowed himself to be provoked.

    So many people receive Holy Communion unworthily at funerals and weddings nowadays that it does seem odd to have singled out one in particular. I'm not sure if it is an actual rule anywhere but it does seem to me to be good pastoral practice to give the host to all who present themselves. Jesus knows his own and is well able to look after himself. Even if the priest is alerted beforehand, which is often done as a provocation, he should ignore it.

    How very Irish to drive 300 miles to be offended!

  30. I hate people saying they don't judge and who add that only God is judge. Nothing can hurt God so it is none of God's business what we do. Rights are based on needs and God does not need to condemn any person or any action. Free will these days is seen as being free because of God for God creates all and has more to do with our actions than we do. It is passive aggressive to adore a divine judge. The only problem with letting evil criminals be happy and free is that it puts the innocent at risk. Ideally the bad and the good should have equal happiness. Talk of punishment is just vindictive.

You need not fear that your sister will damage your credibility or hold you back in your career in the church.
