DUBLIN - GORGEOUS - OTHER HAPPENINGS

HAPPIER TIMES

DIARMUID "CODDLE" MARTIN HAS AGREED TO ORDAIN "GORGEOUS" TO THE PRIESTHOOD ON NOVEMBER 14TH 2017!

A source close to Archbishop's House in Dublin has told me that the ordination will go ahead on the feast of St Laurence O'Toole - the patron saint of the Dublin archdiocese.

There will be three others ordained on the same day apparently.

A seminarian from The Irish College has told me that Gorgeous has also been busy making preparations for his big day.

Of course there are albs and vestments to be bought, a party to organise, invitations to send out, a cake to be baked etc.

I'm also sure there will have to be a post ordination trip to Barcelona etc with the usual friends.

Diarmuid has apparently suggested to him that he make his arrangements in a low key fashion so that this Blog and other interested parties will not be made aware of the upcoming event.

ACCORDING TO ONE DUBLIN PRIEST A SECURITY FIRM IS TO BE HIRED TO POLICE THE ORDINATION TO PREVENT PROTEST AND OBJECTIONS.

DIRAMUID FEELS THAT GORGEOUS WOULD BE VULNERABLE IN A PARISH AND HAS DECIDED HIS FIRST APPOINTMENT WILL BE AS A HOSPITAL CHAPLAIN.

CHURCHTOWN PARISH PRIEST:

The other news from Dublin this week is the report that the parish priest of Churchtown - Father Dermot Nestor - has announced that he is leaving the priesthood.

My archdiocesan contact says that Father Nestor has fallen in love with a lady who is also the mother of three children?

And more interestingly the woman works for the Archdiocese of Dublin.

My source also says that Diarmuid Martin is providing Father Nestor with a generous severance package?

Obviously Father Nestor is doing the honourable thing.

BUT! - it does leave the Archdiocese of Dublin with one less heterosexual cleric!

  2. What about a sailor suit? Perhaps not - - in case it reminds the good bishop of something he'd rather forget!!

  3. I wish Fr Nestor well in his new life choice. I also hope his partner and her children will not suffer any negative backlash and can get on with their lives in peace. Civvy street is a very different place once one removes the collar so I hope Fr Nestor will avail of genuine support if it is available. As for laicisation my own opinion is that it is more trouble than it is worth. Of course this will impact on how fr Nestor views his future and family relationship with the Sunday church. All in all I wish him well but can reflect that I never knew or planned for things to turn out as they are for me. There were some dark times but my present is a good place. I can also reflect that Priesthood never goes away and it will be interesting to see how fr Nestors Priesthood finds expression in his new calling. I wonder if he will be asked to sign any confidentiality agreements

  4. Is it fair to the other three ordinands to have their ordinations in this way?

If I was one of them I would not be happy.

Of course they will have no choice.

  5. What about the poor other two sharing their day with this lad. Thats not fair. Can the ordination take place in a hospital chapel, or in the good Archbishops private chapel ? or in a sealed chapel in maynooth

  7. Pat, did you know that a high profile Dominican was very active on the Rome gay scene and that after he was diagnosed with HIV he was promoted?

    1. No. But of course there are many bishops and priests living with HIV.

    2. I find your claim to be quite staggering if true!!!

    3. How can these men possibly be still in ministry if that's the case? No doubt it's the result of promiscuity, shagging around and risky sexual practices. I really shudder at the very thought of this.

    4. I agree, these Priests with HIV should not be ministering whatsoever. They need to be thrown out for the disgusting practices that got them infected in the first place. Get out and stay out.

    5. Most people with HIV are heterosexual!

  8. Now obviously I am not condeming somone for having a disease....... however he is quite 'conservative '

  9. After his boyfriend died, it was then his 'condition' came to light. He used to celebrate mass for his dead lover every year on the anniversary of his death. Several times the local police used to have to warn him to stay out of the local park at night time.

    1. No one would wish HIV on anyone - although it is now a perfectly treatable illness and no longer life threatening.

But how can a priest who is active on the gay scene be "conservative" in other matters.

    2. Not a hard question to answer, Pat. In public they adopt a conservative pose. It helps their career chances. He teaches in the Order's seminary in Dublin.

And it diverts attention from themselves for a while. Look at Keith O'Brien.

    3. That was good advice as you can't see the dog dirt at night until you walk through it - ugh!

    4. Yes the conservative public image is what gets you places. Another one of them up there is the father of a teenage daughter.

    1. You have requested this from me before. I think you live in South Down?

I don't think it is my job to be a match maker for you with a priest.

      You could always advertise.

There are plenty of gay apps with priests of every age on it.

  11. The George bar in Dublin on a bank holiday Sunday evening usually has a few senior clergy from around the country if you want a hook up

  13. What a sad vicious nasty lot post comments here. Buckley certainly has a knack for attracting nuts like himself. I suspect many are spineless clerics who would never say boo to a goose but are delighted to let fly hidden behind a cloak of anonymity; sad and pathetic. I imagine many left the priesthood mentally years ago but have no place to go so they remain, doing more harm than good.
If they have something to say they should man up and say it where it matters and deball Buckley who uses this blog for his own hatred of the church.

  17. Pity the shinners didn't give you a good hidin years ago. They wanted too but your nemesis Cathal B. put a stop to it.....pity. might have shut you up for good. Poor Cathal too much a pacifist.

    1. Pat, I'm rather concerned at this veiled threat contained in 23.45's post. So much so that I've spoken to some Shinners very late last night. I was assured that the Shinners did not want to give you a hiding years ago, it was the last thing they would do. The Shinners were no fan of Cahal Daly nor he of them as he was regarded as Thatchers pipsqueak. You should meet the Shinners Pat in relation to your latest disturbing blog and the involvement of visits to you by the PSNI. As you know the Shinners now sit on the Policing Board. They are open to a meeting with you. Take Care. Ex Divis Resident.
