PHONSIE "THE TERMINATOR" CULLINAN |
PHONSIE "THE TERMINATOR" CULLINAN WHO LOST HIS BAP WITH ME AT A RECENT PRIEST'S FUNERAL IN TRAMORE IN COUNTY WATERFORD HAS SENT ONE OF HIS PP'S ON THE MISSIONS IN VIETNAM.
The PP - Father Ricardo Geoghegan, is the PP in Ballyneale Parish near Carrick - on Suir in Waterford diocese is on a culinary tour with RTE's Francis Brennan.
As you can see - even at home - Father Ricardo has a liking for the exotic shirt. When did you last see your PP or CC in this red and black number?
But of course in Vietnam and Asia, in general, there is great scope for the shirt lover. Here is Father Ricardo's in this week's programme:
And here's Ricardo getting his anointed fingers into the stir fry:
I bet Opus Dei member Phonsie is looking forward to the Confirmation Dinner in Ballyneale in 2018 all cooked up by his very own Ricardo.
I wonder what will be on the menu for "The Terminator" Cullinan and the deanery clergy:
STARTER 1: Dunmore East Death Watch Beetle marinated in Noire Valley dandelions and holy water.
STARTER 2: Ballyneale Frogs Legs served with Carrick on Sewer Trout caviar.
MAIN: Brain of Comeragh Mountain Goat en croute served with Ballybricken Golden Wonders and Dungarvan Dock Leaves.
DESERT: Kilgobinet Spotted Dick with Pink Grapefruit compote and Ardfinnan Friesian Clotted Cream.
The RTE site says of Father Ricardo and his cousin accompanying him on the Vietnamese trip:
The RTE site says of Father Ricardo and his cousin accompanying him on the Vietnamese trip:
Fr. Richard Geoghegan & Benita Ahearne
Co. Waterford and Co. Tipperary
These long-lost cousins 'discovered' each other at a family wedding only a few years ago and since then have become best friends. They share the same sense of humour, they like the same music, he's into butterflies and she's into dragonflies. Originally from Dungarvan in Waterford, this tattoo-loving priest joined the seminary when he was 19 years old and has now taken a year's sabbatical. When he saw the TV appeal for the new series of Francis Brennan's Grand Tour, he believed; "Francis was talking only to me!" He immediately contacted Benita to ask her to travel with him. Benita is a housewife and hasn't travelled much, but she wanted to go to Vietnam to get acquainted with Richard, her new bestie.
TATOOS ON TV AS HE GOES TO BED |
And talking of things culinary a Waterford priest has sent me a copy of Phonies' suggestions for Lent:
WATCH PHONSIE'S EYES WHEN HE'S TALKING:
THE TERMINATOR'S LENT:
1. Takes a break from Eastenders and Fair City.
2. Has a suggestive biscuit instead of a chocolate suggestive biscuit.
3. Gives to the Trocaire Box.
Is that the same Trocaire that flew him and other bishops to Africa on a recent fact finding tour I wonder ???
FROM LEFT: TREANOR, PHONSIE, LEAHY AND NULTY |
Phonsie has put Waterford on The Terminator map.
Fr Ricardo has put Waterford on the culinary and shirt map.
The Church in Waterford, to use a Treanor term, is certainly a LIVING CHURCH.
Not sure the vegetarian diners will be too happy with that Confirmation dinner menu. Still I think maybe they'll be thankful about it the next day....
ReplyDeleteBishop Pat, how can I contact you privately - an email address - to give a little background on this post? It's very important. I think you need to go easy on this one.
ReplyDeleteAre we in imminent danger of scandal? I wonder.
Deletebishopbuckley1@outlook.com
Deletethought some of them photos were of a buxom lass lol, especially the one in the kitchen with the pinny on. You are having a laugh Pat. Your just taking the p*ss surely.
ReplyDelete"You're just taking.."
DeleteYour is Fr you're benefit 10.01 darling, you keep falling for it sweetheart.
DeleteAwful sad Pat. Imagine him being your boss! If I was his employee - definitely terminate any interest in faith God or otherwise, I near fell asleep listening to him on that YouTube clip. And mrs richard in the blouse - Good luck with vocations boys - definitely attracting high calibre!
ReplyDeleteYep. Phonsie is some pup. His spirituality is so deep it's about EastEnders, Fair City and chocolate digestives.
DeleteAnd this is " the successor of the Apostles" in Waterford!
Come back John Charles! All is forgiven :-)
7.01 Come on Pat get in the groove man. Eastenders Fair City and the Furchester Hotel...
Delete06:42: No. Fr Richard is on the Waterford and Lismore website as Very Rev Richard Geoghegan PP. Ballyneale, Carrick on Suir, Waterford.
ReplyDeleteNo.You can see him again on Sunday's edition of Francis Brennan, Grand Tour of Vietnam, RTE 1 8.30 pm. Or watch last two episodes on RTE player.

Apparently, he does his party piece up the Mekong Delta.
DeletePat, how can I see the last two episodes? They don't appear on RTE Player for me. All I can find is an interview with the participants on "Saturday night with Miriam"
DeleteThe 2nd episode is repeated this Saturday on RTE 1 at 1.15pm. You have to pay a subscription to watch it on RTÉ player.
DeletePhonsie is very sly & extremely cunning! All false piety I assure you. He's been known to have suggested that self-flagellation can cure gay people!
ReplyDeleteSweet Mother of God! Give me the lace and Latin crew any day.
ReplyDeleteWell you know your Waterford & Lismore geography and parishes!
ReplyDeleteTattoos on TV as (Fr) goes to bed-Only in Ireland would that be a headline-The point being if there is one Fr Ted rides again. As for the colourful shirt some Anglican priests wear them and nobody bothers-gee its cool to be a padre-isnt it? Apart from being a priest whats his appeal to be on the cook show. Whats audience reaction. As for the cousins hubby. Where is he in all of this and do partners figure in the story-line of the show
ReplyDeleteBishop,
ReplyDeleteOn some occasions, and especially today, your blogs bring to mind the Emperor Augustus' comment on Herod - "It is better to be Herod's dog than one of his children."
Heavy duty stuff.
Phonsie is sleekit on that Youtube clip, good God what a creepy man.
ReplyDeletePhonsie'e Lented Video is sheer genius. He did a modern take on lent; applying it to contemporary life. His allusion to modern-day commodities (e.g. chocolate biscuits, Eastenders etc) prove to be relevant and pertinent to us, in the 21st century. All come to serve as a salutary reminder of Christ's redemptive sacrifice for us. It's modern-day evangelisation, simple!
ReplyDelete09.47 It's modern day sh*te as opposed to evangelisation - simple. Modern my arse, the man dprobably doesn't even know about or watch Fair City or Eastenders. He looks and sounds a dim wit who is devoid of reality, what sort of galoot allows one of his Priests to feature on a tv programme dressed like that?
ReplyDeleteWhen you recall your ordeal in Tramore at the hands of this Bishop I wasn't sure what to think. On viewing that video it's become apparent what a self righteous arrogant pr-k he really is. He doesn't even have to open his trap, he looks like an escaped lunatic. God help the people and Priests of Waterford, no wonder why that man ran off to Vietnam, you couldn't go any further away.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha @ 10.28
ReplyDeleteOh pat. I am LMAO thinking of Phonsie this morning eating his breakfast and reading your blog. No need for him to boil the kettle as the steam coming out of his ears will be enough. Well done Pat.
ReplyDeleteIndeed HH :-)
DeleteThe chocolate digestives will get a seeing to today :-)
Can anyone tell us if Ricardo is a graduate of Gaynooth? Did Hugh The Dog Ate Me Home Work Connoly,Paul the Pryer & Co recommend him for ordination?
ReplyDeleteBy the looks of bishop noel he could do with fasting from the Mars bars he's got a big old fat arse on him . He's startin to look like stephen Nolan
ReplyDeleteHe needs to cut down on the wine order from Nicholsons of Crossgar :-)
DeleteIt's expensive buying wine in that place. But Noel does like his Caramel squares too.
DeleteNoel is comforting eating and drinking to help him cope with Down and Connor which he hates.
DeleteHe preferred Enniskillen, but who wouldn't!
DeleteEnniskillen is lovely, but Noel gave off a detached air. He was just passing through between stints in Rome and Brussels, where he spent many years in an agreeable job that a lay person could have done. He was from Clogher diocese, but never really of it.
DeleteWhat does an Irish bishop do all day? Especially in the smaller Sees, such as Clonfert? There are confirmations (though those are often outsourced to PPs), the occasional ordination, and a few meetings of the episcopal conference. That occupies a few weeks, but what would a typical Tuesday in October look like for an Irish bishop?
DeleteWhere did he get those blouse numbers from - up the Mekong Delta I suppose? Very funny comment btw 09.54 lmao. That Francis Brennan is as camp as a row of tents and I think that Priest is trying to outdo him.
ReplyDeleteThere's a whole big story behind today's blog involving Fr Richard and Phonsie. Watch this space. Waterford PP.
DeleteAny possibility of very grave scandal? I wonder.
DeleteWill there be the usual lavender overtones to the 'big story'? I wonder.
DeleteYou get them in St George's Market.. Or write to "Chums"
DeleteWhy the f... is Phonsie dressed from head to toe in black in the African sun? Tells us all we need to know.
ReplyDelete11.22 I know this to be true too but Bishop Willie Lee also involved.
ReplyDeleteFr Richard is dying of cancer. He wears a wig and his Vietnam trip is on his bucket list. His wonderful cousin is a nurse and is his medical support. This blog is a nasty nasty thing
ReplyDeleteHow could someone dying of cancer possibly get travel insurance to fly all that way across the world? My husband had cancer and no travel insurance company would take him on to fly within Europe. I also doubt RTÉ would take that risk either as they employ Solicitors to advise them. I would imagine filming and the itinerary for such a trip is intense and tiring not to mention the climate and travel. Health care in Vietnam I believe is patchy and not what we expect in the western world.
DeleteIf this is true I am sorry to hear it.
DeleteAnd with all due respect there is more than a cancer story here.
It is a bigger, more human and more interesting story.
And Opus Dei Phonsie is not able to handle it I suspect?
A romance? I wonder.
DeletePat, is Fr Ricardo and Francis Brennan a couple? I hear Richard is a frequent visitor to Brennan's Hotel.
ReplyDeleteIs Richard a transvestite?
ReplyDeleteThey were cooking on the tour, Sean, he wasn't on a cook programme
True. But was it not a culinary tour?
DeleteDidn't like my psychological analysis?
ReplyDeleteIs that the Waterford transvestite priest who turned up to a wedding reception in drag? I heard that story years ago but couldn't quite get myself to believe it.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of that BBC comedy, 'Allo Allo' with the fallen madonna with the big boobies.
ReplyDeleteA decade ago at this time, Derry diocese Dr. Felim Donnelly was kicked out of Maynooth after making an official complaint about 'a deep homosexual ethos' among higher seminary staff in Maynooth. His complaint was ultimately not upheld and he was summarily thrown out. His Bishop, Hegarty of Derry, refused to support him as soon as his complaint aired.
ReplyDeleteAnother seminarian who was called to give evidence on behalf of the Doctor just before the guillotine fell on him was the former IRA guy Shane O'Doherty for Dublin. He was dumped out the door shortly afterwards by Diarmuid Martin no reasons given. Many seminarians had reasons to give evidence in support of the Doctor but were too afraid to do so realising that if they gave evidence about homosexual goings on they too would be thrown out of the seminary.
Imagine that at the same time other senior seminarians were openly telling people that they were driving up to the Phoenix Park to cruise the girlboys there - and they were in no way afraid of any repercussions from Maynooth.
The sickness has travelled down the intervening years and there seems to be no cure. I can understand why some seminarians don't want to be identified as opposing the homosexual clique - one seminarian known to me took time out of Maynooth and later applied to become a lay parish worker in a paid job. He got a call from the diocese - "You were on priestly vocation track - you cannot therefore be suited to lay parish worker track." In other words, you did not like Maynooth and we will make no positions available to you.
The entire Irish church seems to be poisoned by the influence of Maynooth down the years. Anyone generous enough to be willing to give up job, apartment and life to go into Maynooth must begin by being well motivated toward Church in general, but just after leaving or being thrown out of Maynooth they become branded as 'ex Maynooth' and are toxic. The toxic quality is only on the straights and the moderately conservative.
Take then the case of a guy who is all over Gay dating sites, is involved with gay priests and receiving gifts and so on - he is in the media and press for a year or so and - what? - he is not toxic at all and has bishops and priests batting for him. You complainers really need to get a reality check. The letter writer has a case and Maynooth has many cases to answer.
The solution to the Maynooth virus?
And I suppose you would describe yourself as 'moderately conservative' too.
DeleteI wonder why Fr Richard had his Prebytery burned down some years ago? Seems rather a drastic occurrence in rural Tipperary.
ReplyDeleteAre you thinking there was a connection between the fire and today's breaking story?
DeleteIn other words, was it a case of arse-on?
All the comedians are out today :-)
DeleteBREAKING NEWS WATERFORD
ReplyDeleteTHE PRESS OFFICER OF THE DIOCESE OF WATERFORD AND LISMORE HAS JUST ANNOUNCED BISHOP PHONSIE IS LEADING A DIOCSAN PILGRIMAGE TO THE VIETNAMESE MARIAN SHRINE AT "LA BANG" ON THE FEAST OF ST. FRANCIS THE SISSY.
ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT FR RICHARD IS THE PILGRIMAGE DIRECTOR AND IS IN VIETNAM MAKING PREPARATIONS FOR THE PILGRIMAGE. ENDS.
12.56 I agree with you over cancer and being unable to get travel cover. Some companies do offer cover but by the time you've answered all their questions they don't want to know. You are a huge risk to them by having a pre existing medical condition and therefore a liability. If you are incredibly lucky to get cover for cancer then the cost of the premium will probably put you off. I know a friend who was quoted £10,000 for a one week trip.
ReplyDeleteI have a minor cardiac issue which is perfectly controlled by medication and I was recently quoted Euro 970 for one week's cover for the USA. I with above that it is strange that Ricardo got cover for Vietnam if he has cancer. Also, RTE would be leaving themselves wide open to a massive law suit. I think the Church's PR men are at work today.
DeleteI'd like to go on the pilgrimage please if Francis Brennan is there. Is dressing up in drag and blouses a requirement?
ReplyDeleteIt certainly seems an option?
DeleteI think RTE are exploiting this man Richard and whatever illness he may have. They are making him to be some kind of fool and a spectacle - basically a laughing stock.
ReplyDeleteShould his bishop, family and friends not have intervened if he is being exploited?
DeleteDo you have to wear make up on the Vietnam pilgrimage to La Vang?
ReplyDeleteWho is wearing make up?
DeleteA filming crew usually likes both men and women to have makeup applied by the film crew staff before the shoot begins. It is to ensure that the complexions are all more or less alike which makes lighting the film set area easier. Also done, because the high strength of white TV lighting would make everyone look anaemic in the extreme! Stage drama is the same....
DeleteNonsense!
DeleteI have dobe thousands of hours of TV filming in my life.
The only time I was asked to wear make up was in studio filming.
Real life filming does not require make up.
OK then Pat, you didn't use filming makeup... But then perhaps your complexion appeared reasonably normal on the monitor.
Delete(If your skin had the deathly grey/white pallor of someone whose blood count is not normal because of the severe effects of recent chemotherapy then you may have have a different experience)
That is correct @16.18
Delete(You know your own job..)
@15:25
DeleteWhat about your Channel 4 interview last week? I wonder.
Pat, Phonsie didn't agree for Fr Richard to take part in this programme whatsoever. Fr Richard just went ahead against his wishes. Phonsie is far from happy with it.
ReplyDeletePhonsie is far from happy period - I think?
DeleteRicardo wears make up.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Phonsie should do a new you tube clip for Lent on giving up RTE for Lent rather than Fair city and Eastenders. LOL.
ReplyDeleteIn the picture of Ricardo in the blog today in his "clerical shirt" you can see him wearing makeup.
ReplyDeleteJust look at the white hairline in comparison to the brown face.
And this is a parish pic!
The white hairline is because the wig is loose. Have some sympathy.
DeleteI wonder how many thousands of pounds were spent on the Famous Fives African Adventure?
ReplyDeleteAnyone know? And will Trocaire make public the expenditure?
How much Trocaire money did Eamon Casey spend on himself and Annie Murphy and on Casey's business flights around the globe?
DeleteGood point. But we'll probably never know for sure, like the cost of the Famous Fives' African junket.
DeleteIs RTE paying for Father Richard's Vietnam tour - or Phonsie/us? Waterford Parishioner.
ReplyDeletePat have we heard anything about a possible merge for Galway and Clonfert ? is there any milleage in this'?
ReplyDeleteHave not heard?
DeleteThere is one comment maker who is claiming that Father Richard Geoghegan has cancer and that Vietnam was on his bucket list.
ReplyDeleteMaybe so.
But can people explain:
The over the top shirts?
The "feminine" behaviour?
The over the top tattoos?
I have treated many cancer patients, including priests, and this is the first time in a 40 year medical career that I have been presented with these things as cancer symptoms.
Nor can I find such symptoms in my oncology books?
Dublin GP.
Haven't you anything better do to occupy your time?
Delete(Shocked at your mocking tone to a vulnerable person..)
Nobody has told us how he is vulnerable?
DeleteOf course he is vulnerable if he has been very ill - - extremely vulnerable both physically and mentally. You can't even start to imagine until you've been there...
DeleteHe shows no signs whatsoever of physical and mental vulnerability on the tv programme, in fact the complete object. What is he supposed to be ill with. If I was vulnerable in that way the last place I'd go is the other side of the world.
DeleteWell, you do it your way and let others make their own choices.
DeleteAnonymous GP at 17.17. What kind of jack ass are yiu? Such an inane, juvenile and foolish contribution. A doctor indeed!! Your remarks are akin to a bitch fest in the ladies locker room. You display such arrant nonsense. Another fool in the footsteps of Pat where anything goes irrespective of the impact it may have on genuinely sick people who deserve their privacy and reputation. If you are a doctor, which I doubt, you'd be the last one I'd call for in an emergency. You lack discretion and professionalism with your remarks today. Take your medication....
DeleteI agree with 22.49. That GP must be so indiscreet with patient information that he might indeed be untrustworthy. He displays a serioys lapse of judgment and - what business is it of his to make any cinclusion in so homophobic a way. Unacceptable, immoral and unethical - GP - you Great P***k.
DeleteI agree with you @ 22.49
DeleteThe 'doctor' deceived nobody. Anybody genuinely in medicine would never, ever print in social media an unsolicited opinion - - especially such an inane stupid one - on the medical condition of another doctor's patient, least of all a patient who had already been identified by name! That was the main giveaway, but there were others too...
I wonder what Phonsie had for dinner ?. Is he watching Eastenders tonight?.
ReplyDeleteNo. Rick Stein in Asia :-)
DeletePat, can you give us one rationsl, intelligent and credible explanation as to why you singled out the priest from Waterford for such a public onslaught today? What has he ever donevto you to deserve your putrid and sickening nastiness? Can you stop for a moment, look into your heart and confront your nastiness and tell us the rationale behind your vendetta? It would be interesting to hear your response, however difficult it is is for you to own the damage and hurt you inflict on innocent people.
DeleteCan people leave Fr. Richard alone, it's clear from comments on here that people are jealous of his Vietnam trip. He likes to dress up and look smart so what's the crime? He is a nice gentleman who is liked by the people, I could think of worst crimes for a Priest to commit.
ReplyDeleteIs that you, Phonsie?
DeleteIs Richard a foreign national ?????
ReplyDeleteLife is stranger than fiction. Fr Ted would not even have a look in. Bishop Brennan et al
ReplyDeleteHa ha
ReplyDeleteI think Fr.Richard is a disgrace to the Church and should leave it immediately. He needs help with his mental health as far as I'm concered.
ReplyDeleteWhat's next on Fr. Richard's list of talents I wonder, maybe pole dancing or snake charming, we'll have to wait and see!
ReplyDelete
