KEEPING UP OUR "FUN" DAY
What a delight to see that video on Reggie again! Gratias tibi ago, Dne! He was one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. A Cardinal once told Reggie that when he heard him speak in Latin he sounded like a monument.
ReplyDeleteIt would behoove your seminarians to enroll in his class. They may gain the perspicuity to avoid stupid situations. Latin does clear out the cobwebs. Alas, if one can’t do Latin, there’s always Canon Law, as we often heard during those sweltering summer afternoons in our class on the Janiculum.

Who should get the Royal Order of the Garter?
ReplyDeletePerhaps Father Shirley DBE should be elevated.
DeleteFor those who are really ambitious and likely to go steaming ahead there is the very prestigious Order of the Bath.. Have no idea who is most ready for that accolade..
ReplyDeleteSome people are more likely to remain as foot soldiers. Not high-ranking but may be some people's preference.
Are you sure that Fr. Eugene O'Hagan is not Acting Major General?
ReplyDeletePat do you have an update on Brendan Marshall and Ronan
ReplyDeleteThey are Fanny's two main snitches. They will be ordained no problem. They have past the Gaynooth "test".
DeleteWe are experiencing times in which evil is called good and good evil.
DeleteMaynooth, like many Irish churches, will be closed down and converted into museums, pubs or mosques in years to come. This will be the legacy of the present bunch of bishops and "formation team".
The Irish church shall be practically effaced from view. Satan's ultimate humiliation and degradation of God's Holy Church is being effected by priest's and seminarian's indulging in the evil Grindr app and its like. This wholesale destruction of the real Faith is not being met with one word of protest by the bishops. These same bishops will be severely held to account for their cowardice and inaction. I am praying hard for them and would encourage any else who cares to do similar.
DeleteMay God have mercy on the Irish Church and may He send us some brave, holy bishops.
Poor Conan is still suffering :-(
DeleteI can help Conan if he wants me to.
Delete12.17 Get a grip will you. Have you listened to yourself? What a bloody drama queen. Pull yourself together.
DeleteThank you for poster 12.17 for your excellent comment. Your concerns are very legitimate and indeed they should be the reason for all our prayers. (It is regrettable that you should be subjected to admonition by persons who don't appear to have your degree of maturity and good judgement)
Delete13:24 you should be also exhorting people to pray instead of issuing trite remarks.
DeleteIt appears that the main problem of Maynooth and the Irish clerical body is that of a preponderance of drama queens.
So aim your comments elsewhere. Or indeed just look in the mirror, Fr Anonymous.
Is the wee trolley dolly still about Maynooth?
DeleteThe place is trolley Dolly heaven...
DeleteVice Marshall LOL
ReplyDeleteHe has many vices 'kevin''sean'ronan' to name a few.....
Just like Halloween Strictly Come Dancing. All we need is the good ship lollipop.
ReplyDeleteRear Gunner Coyle.
ReplyDeleteD.S.O.(Distinguished Service Order)
DeleteBumadeer McCamley?
DeletePat Look at the new canon lawyer for the xxxxxc Diocese Fr. Xxxxxxx and his partner Fr. Xxxxxxxx. Xxxxxxx likes to play dress up but he is big queen. They have been spotted on the beaches in Portugal :-)
ReplyDeleteCosta da Caparica probably.
DeleteThat would make Puck and Gorgeous snipers... We all know theyre out there with eyes on their target but nobody knows where they are or when they'll hit...
ReplyDeleteI think Susan Anne White is a regular commentator on this blog
ReplyDeleteI think you should study the scriptures in their entirety 13:30. Not just the nice bits.
Delete@17.03
DeletePlease explain..! Some of us do not understand...
Bishop Paul Tighe appointed secretary to Council for Culture - Saturday October 28th October 2017
ReplyDeletePoster at 10.24 today says we are experiencing times when evil is called good and good evil.
ReplyDeleteWhen he/she says that he quotes indirectly from Isaiah Ch. 5.
The Biblical prophet sends a stark reminder of the woe that will follow our misguided foolishness.
Why do we behave as if we were slick experts who have no time for God's ways?
Paul Tighe for Armagh.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the occasion that created the Fr O'Hagan photo, +Pat?
ReplyDeleteFr.O'Hagan has over the years sung many principal roles in light opera eg with Fortwilliam Musical Society in N Belfast and probably with St Agnes'Choral Society and maybe other groups too. The photo on the blog is almost certainly (judging by the costume which I would recognise) of him as the "Major General" in Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance" I think that was what Pat was alluding to in the caption. There are a few other "soldier" roles that he might have been in but I think 'Pirates... "is most likely to be correct. Perhaps Pat, himself, will tell you more!
ReplyDeleteMore about the pirate's booty. I hope.
DeleteYes, or the character "Luiz" "in the show "The Gondoliers"
DeleteVery likely right. Isn’t there a line in Pirates about a Doctor of Divinity? It will never be the same again.

DeleteWhat about Privates Fitzhenry and Fitzmaurice!
DeleteI've always dreamt of being a cockpit's mate, holding onto the bullets as he fired away! Or a crurate in Keady
ReplyDeleteI imagine Keady curate has an accommodating cockpit.
