IS GATES BACK IN MAGHERAFELT?
There is talk that John Gates has returned to Magherafelt?
He should never be back there, in my opinion, as with his current bullying and arrogant attitude he is totally unsuitable for ministry.
If he changes, and gets psychological change he may try a parish again.
Eamon Martin has the responsibility to control him and challenge him.
This Blog, through numerous Magherafelt contacts will be monitoring and highlighting any instances of abuse and bullying.
The abuse of the People of God by a priest, is totally unacceptable and is a mortal sin!
EAMON MARTIN HAS PULLED OUT OF THE MAGHERAFELT CONFIRMATIONS ON SUNDAY AND IS SENDING A MONSIGNOR INSTEAD.
US Catholic Church archdiocese reaches €179 million settlement with 450 abuse victims
Victims welcomed the settlement with relief but stressed that their emotional scars have remained.
MARIE MIELKE - ABUSE SURVIVOR |
A CATHOLIC CHURCH archdiocese in the US state of Minnesota has reached a $210 million (€179 million) settlement with hundreds of victims of clergy abuse, resolving a years-long battle.
The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, which filed for bankruptcy protection in 2015 citing its exposure to an onslaught of abuse claims, said the settlement would resolve all of those claims, conclude the bankruptcy process and establish a trust fund for 450 victims.
“Abuse survivors could expect payments soon after the court approves the plan,” said Archbishop Bernard Hebda.
“I am grateful for all of the victim survivors who have bravely come forward,” he said at a news conference.
Victims welcomed the settlement with relief but stressed that their emotional scars have remained.
“This is a great day for us and all of the survivors,” said Jamie Heutmaker at a separate news conference.
Marie Mielke added: “What was done to me has really interfered with the joy of being a mother.”
A 2013 Minnesota law was credited by victims with opening the floodgates in the Midwestern state, by allowing for the filing of lawsuits in abuse cases dating back decades.
The settlement ended one of the lengthiest processes of reckoning of church abuse cases in the US – a protracted battle that victims blamed on the preemptive bankruptcy filing.
Experts speaking at the Vatican said in 2012 the number of abused American minors is probably close to 100,000, with cases dating back to 1950 and implicating thousands of clerics.
PAT SAYS:
100,000 American abused by priests!
Thousands of priest abusers
It's obvious that this is the fruit of a VERY ROTTEN TREE!!!

Yes unfortunately he has been seen coming out of peoples houses hoping to get embedded in the parish again. How on earth can he hold his head up in this parish again after all his exploits have been made public.
ReplyDelete22.57 He made sure he was back in time for the First Friday sick visits. I do tell my Mother she doesn’t have to give him £20 each time as she can’t really afford it. What gets under my skin is he almost expects it. I suppose someone has to pay for his lavish lifestyle.
DeleteMcEniff is cock a hoop
DeleteGates and MC Eniff are cock a hoop. Joint to the hip. The pair off silly old maids dressed up at drama shows parish centre. Talk about who wears the trousers. Sorry the dresses!. You would think they would catch themselves on. The pair of them are ridiculous an stupid. Eejits.
DeleteAs I've said before +Pat, surely it's more evidence that a very great number of RC clergy just do not believe in the religious and moral tenets of the religion they profess to represent. I simply do not accept that it's individual human failings that "explains" such widespread habitual behaviour and collusive cover ups.
ReplyDeleteAnd I applaud all efforts showing the dysfunctional degenerate reality of much of the RC institution. It's a man made institution in which there indeed are many devout well meaning spiritual individuals, but in essence one must question it's overall efficacy and relevance.
MMM
Eamon Martin has pulled out of the Confirmation in Magherafelt on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteHas the Confirmation been cancelled then?
DeleteNo.
DeleteMonsignor Colum Curry from Beragh parish doing it.
Amy is running scared and does not want to meet the Magherafelt parishioners over Gates.
+Pat, who would have thought you have prevented the Primate of all Ireland from coming to a parish. I think you are right, Amy is running scared and clutching her pearls. What sort of leadership is this? It is a total and utter joke. Pat did you not interrupt a live tv broadcast once of a Mass by Cahal Daly by staging a peaceful silent protest lol?
DeleteI stood in front of ET on three occasions when he was preaching.
DeleteI stood in silence.
I made sure not to disrupt the Eucharist in anyway.
Pat @ 09.33 If what you say is true, I’ve never heard the like of it. Is there not a neighbouring Bishop that would do the honours even though it’s very last minute. You are a Bishop, could you not do it instead of some Monsignor which is only a fancy title, it means very little and Pope Francis frowns upon it.
Delete+EM has been in Belgium with his Anglican counterpart all week, leading a pilgrimage of reconciliation to places like Messines,Ypres and the Menin Gate. (Forgive spelling errors in names if there are any.) It’s hardly reasonable to expect him to bilocate!
DeleteI would be quite happy to do the Confirmations.
DeleteI regularly confirm.
Monsignor Curry is one of Amy's "poodles".
10.07 Eamon Martin is the Archbishop of Armagh not Belgium,he should get his priorities correct. A few days maybe at the battlefields but a whole week??? Nice to know he’s sending someone nobody has heard of to do Confirmation.
Delete+Pat @09.33 Is it true that Monsignor Curry left Dungannon and had to take time out???? Seems strange sending him as replacement for the Archbishop!!!
DeletePat is there no rational with you, can you not try and reconcile with those your at war with, those you try to demonize and break?
DeleteIs a man of God not a peace maker?
To call Dean Curry a 'Poddle' is an insult to a most sincere man that has give his life to the service of others.
Do you truly think the genuine people off Magherfelt would be happy with you conferring Confirmation to their children?
I certainly do not think so!
11.32 What’s a poddle?
DeleteIt's the Protestant version of Dermo's favourite meal.
DeleteWell at least I would not pull out at the last minute and send a poodle.
DeleteIn fact I don't have any poodles to send!
The protest against Fr. Gates will go ahead in Fr Curry’s presence tomorrow during the Mass. We will then gather outside the Parish Centre after the Confirmation has ended to make a Press Statement.
DeleteYou could send along your Middletown-based local representative or does he only cover county Armagh?
DeleteThe title Monsignor is a load of old clap trap, means absolutely nothing. How many Chaplains does His Holiness need for goodness sake? It’s time for the Church to get rid of some of this nonsense.
DeleteMgr Gerard Gillen richly deserved the title.
Delete10.07 Can Armagh be more honest about Eamons whereabouts. They told the Nolan Show he couldn't comment about what Fr Quigley said because Eamon was on holiday. Now you say he's at the war graves in Belgium - is it not inappropriate to call this event a holiday. Could we not have a bit more transparency from Armagh or is that too much to ask. Why are the people of Magherafelt being treated as second best and having Monsignor Curry sent, his he suitable.
Delete11.50: A rather unfortunate phrase Pat - "would not pull out at the last minute" - what reason would you have to do that since you're not invited nor entitled to officiate. Simple logic. (Leave your personal life out of the issue!).
Delete11:32: Jesus called Herod a 'fox'...with good reason, for his native cunning.
DeleteI don't know Curry, but I presume Bishop P. called him a 'poodle' for an equally good reason.
(Personally, I'd have called him a 'lapdog', but then 'a rose by any other name would smell as sweet', wouldn't it?😆)
Pat you are the Poddle with the tiny little tall
Delete13.43 I don’t know what a poddle is but if you meant poodle instead I’m sure they don’t have talls whatever they are.
DeleteThe "Church of Ireland" lol "Archbishop of Armagh" is not ++Eamon's counterpart but his subordinate both for being a layman and a Protestant.
Delete16:08: Wishful (no, crazy) thinking.
DeleteNo one (and I mean no one) is EM's subordinate, not even you.😅
😆
Well there we have it. The most holy roman, catholic and apostolic church had, in its preservation action to protect its assets placed itself into bankruptcy so that the victims who were abused by its priests would be denied justified compensation.
ReplyDeleteAin’t that just a fine example of Christian behaviour and responsibility for its sordid actions.
The attempts to stifle the already traumatised victims and subject them to further emotional turmoil is absolutely unforgivable.
Regrettably there are blind sheep who will place their hard earned dollars on the plate to support these plonkers. As Magna would day Baaaa
To Anon @ 00:32: Well said Sir, or Madam.
DeleteDespicable actions indeed by the RC institution. But sure it's only "par for the course" of protecting out assets.
MMM
During my last visit to Pugin Hall one of the sems asked me if I fancied having a coddle.
DeleteThere's a big hole in the bucket deal Liza. Well fix it for the future
ReplyDeleteFr Gates only visits people’s houses if they are money people. Hopefully the parishioners of Magherafelt will not take any more s—t from this bully
ReplyDeleteSean at 07.37 - there's a hole in your brain - somewhere - ....
ReplyDelete09.19 It’s now time for you (always the same person/poster) to stop your bullying campaign against Sean Page. Enough is enough! You clearly have unresolved issues of your own that makes you target Sean in such a nasty and spiteful way. You clearly have inadequacies of your own to resolve so give it a rest.
Delete@9.34
DeleteI second your point. The campaign avainst Sean must end and this person should receive help with their unresolved issues.
09.34 probably. We all have holes somewhre
DeleteDoubt Sean your manners said it all!.
DeleteSome people are very easily offended.
Delete09.34. Sorry but I am not posting as 09.19. Your attacking comment is a disgrace it's an anger issue also bullying doesn't help matters. Its about Fr.Gates. I will give my view as a parishioner. I have been going to this church for years an never ever came across the most ignorant priest ever.Fr.Gates. More full you all for standing up for this cheeky priest. Bullying is the worst thing to others. Open your eyes an see the light. Don't feel pity on Sean for his posts he's little to do an when he gets a bit of banter from others he has to get others to stand up to him like Fr.Gates. Why don't you all join Fr.Gates at Secrets nightclub tonight.
Delete11.23 No, your predictable comment said it all. Go away bully.
Delete09 34: I rarely comment on blog as it's mostly infantile, hate inciting invective but some comments are irrelevant and if so, I'm entitled to say so. I am a happily, sensible, well balanced individual, not normally dismissive, but Sean's comments at times are - irrelevant - and misplaced in the context of various issues. I am not a bully and worse remarks have been posted about Sean. Be fair. Just look at Magna's postings....then you'll know the meaning of bullying.
DeleteA bit of bantz is part and parcel of this blog. If people want to be all po-faced they should go off to the Prayer Book Society blog.
Delete12:36: You rarely comment on this blog (or so you say), but you can't resist reading it, can you? How else could you find it 'mostly infantile, hate, and inciting invective'?😅
DeleteIdiota!😆
Saw Fr Ray Kelly on BGT last night good performance. Hope he gets back to his parish for Mass tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteI once wrote to Ray Kelly to congratulate him on his singing.
DeleteHe ignored my letter completely!
One might say it is polite to acknowledge correspondence but in this case it may be that he ignores fan-mail to focus on his minstry?
DeletePat at 10.00. Why would Fr. Ray Kelly correspond with you - I often get letters of thanks but don't always send a return thank you as the "thanks" given is for something I had done for that person(s). Also, why don't you allow the confirmation ceremony in Magherafelt take place without stirring up unnecessary emotions which serve only to cast a dark shadow over ceremony for children and families? I really believe your interference is very unhelpful.
Delete12.36 ok comment on the substance of my post not on me as a person or trivialise the Anglican Communion or any other church or group. It's no good saying something is irellevant without saying what it is and why it is irrelevant. Otherwise it is bullying and not addressing the issue at hand
DeleteFr. Gates is the only one casting the dark shadow over the Confirmation ceremony and well beyond it Father @ 12.41.
Delete14.26: In response to my comment at 12.41, I am a teacher in a primary school. I know those who are mischief makers all too easily and I do believe Pat's encouraging of protests at a confirmation ceremony is unacceptable. Yes, others are at fault too but the outsider is making trouble.
DeleteConsidering that the Planter Anglicans stole all the Catholic cathedrals in Ireland, set up soup missions to convert Catholics during the Famine and still illeglly possess Dublin's two cathedrals with tiny congregations the odd joke at Sean Page's expense is justified, surely?
Delete16:40: And if you repossessed those two cathedrals, with whom would you fill them come Sundays? Roman Catholics?
DeleteHa ha ha 😅
😆
16.40 I am not a scapegoat. If you have issues with Anglicans or other groups address the group and certainly not me as an individual
Delete@16.40
DeleteDear Sir,
Please vacate your house. I am a Celt and I want to take back land your ancestors took control of. It is time you reversed a history that happen before you existed and for which you are not responsible.
That is actually how stupid your comment sounds.
16.40.I have been polite now fek off gobshite
DeleteIs Ray Kelly competing with another Priest with dyed hair and driving a big car who gets very little sleep at weekends?
ReplyDeleteI bet Ray Kelly does not go to the same amount of funerals though.
DeleteYou-know-who is taking to the bed during the day at weekends.
DeleteArchbishop Hebda was one of the bishops assisting Cardinal Dolan during the visitation to Maynooth, he was the bishop of Gaylord, Michigan USA.
ReplyDeleteThe Bishop of Gaylord?
DeleteA visitation with no remit to hear from former seminarians unless they were ordained... some bias there..
DeleteI thought it was a joke, but there really is a diocese of Gaylord.
Deletehttp://www.dioceseofgaylord.org/
I always thought the name of a former bishop of Duluth and of RI in the Episcopal Church was probably challenging when he was a kid. I wonder what Johnny Cash could have come up with using the name + Granville Gaylord Bennett. He was from one of the Dakotas and had to grow up tough to be a bishop in two utterly disparate places.
DeleteImagine introducing yourself as the bishop of Gaylord. Lol.
DeleteThere's a Fr Brendan Smyth in Down and Connor. You'd think he'd change his name.
DeleteDid Eamon Martin not celebrate the Funeral of long serving Priest Fr. McOscar in Co. Armagh yesterday?
DeleteYes, it's a small diocese in Michigan, all the bishops who assisted Dolan have been promoted to larger archdioceses or dioceses, Edwin O Brien made a cardinal.
ReplyDeleteThat visitation was a waste of time and money. Its recommendations were ignored and behaviour got much worse.
ReplyDeleteWhy can’t our own beloved Monsenior O’Byrne not do the Confirmation in Magherafelt instead of sending a stranger that nobody knows. I can see why bishop Martin is afraid to come and do it but Monsenior O’Byrne is known to everybody and he should do it.
ReplyDeleteThe last priest that came to Magherafelt from Beragh had fathered a daughter.
Delete11.46 There is no way John Gates would allow Chris O'Byrne to confer Confirmation because he would upstage the little upstart. Simple.
DeleteYes, Mr Gates is the little Trojan of our parish. Centre of attention. He shows who's boss. I'm surprised to hear the little robot is back in action. Not long ago limavady was his break away with few women,oh of course mammy too.
DeleteSo has one of Francis's new cardinals.
ReplyDeleteNeedless to say, my latest letter to the Nuncio and Cardinal Sarah was as big as the one Trump got from the North Korean madman.
ReplyDeleteArmagh is a total mess. The more I read the more I am turned off it all together.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you call a nun in a wheelchair? Virgin Mobile.
ReplyDeleteThe bishop of Killaloe is bringing in more priests from Africa and India. Good for him. They'll have received sound formation in proper seminaries, unlike Maynooth.
ReplyDeleteYou mean to say Eamon Martin can dance in Lourdes but is too feared to do his job in his dioceses.
ReplyDeleteMust take my iPhone there the marra. Lol
If you bring an iPhone do it secretly because security have been told to stop people using them. Make sure to have it ready at Holy Communion so we can see if Fr Curry refuses Communion to Bishop Buckley.
DeleteWhy don't they send Sean Brady, John McAreavey or Philip Boyce to do Confirmations or do they all share something in common.
ReplyDeleteBishop Martin won't want to come to our Parish because he's probably disgusted with fr.Gates for all of his carry-on an bullying in our parish. Also could be a protest or reporters. Or maybe Bishop Buckley. We would need the likes of him to run Fr.gates out of town.
ReplyDeleteGood strong statement in the Irish Examiner by Pat's friend. Bishop Phonsie. He said that Catholic yes voters need to go to confession, an athiest TD shouldn't be a baptism sponsor and that the church will be smaller and more committed. I wish the nominal Catholics were more honest and stopped the rites of passage and Catholic funerals.
ReplyDeleteWell, if dear old, silly old, hot-tempered old Phonsie is typical of that 'smaller and more committed' church, then it looks as if this newborn will be a chip off the old block.
DeleteEcclesial Groundhog Day. (Sigh😩)
Bishop Buckley did I just see you in the centre of Magherafelt a little earlier? I was going to say hello but you were with a group of people at the Diamond who were taking photos.
ReplyDeleteEddie
14.03: If it's true that Pat is in Magherafelt, he's definitely a stalker and is contributing to a furtherance of division in our community. His presence is despicable and I'm no supporter of Fr. Gates but to come in as a supposed mediator is contemptible behaviour. Pat is morally wrong and if the Spirit of God is in his heart, he'd behave more Christ-like.
Delete15.58 You don't speak for all the people in the parish who don't want Fr. Gates here. Bishop Buckley is welcome in our town, he is the only bishop willing to show his face.
DeleteThis is shocking it is EM job Confirmations I just hope the people write to Cardinal Robert Sarah as he is responsible for Divine worship and the Sacrament and also to Papal Nuncio. EM could have got the Cardinal to do the Confirmations.
ReplyDeleteI went into Belfast to catch the last post.
Delete14.16 The barely literate gay Irishman, resident in Scotland, who is getting enough sex thanks, even if he insists on extending his curiosity to the sexual lives of everyone else is at it again. And he's earning commission on the double from An Post and Royal Mail from the vast multitudees taking his advice to write to a papal nuncio and to a Cardinal Bob Sarah.
Delete21:57: Ha ha ha 😅
Delete😆
The Nuncio and Cardinal Sarah barely have time to bless themselves they're reading that many letters.
DeleteWell it’s moredisgusting that bishop Martin hasn’t the courage of his convictions and stand up and do his job.
ReplyDeleteNothing more disgusting that a coward.
So what’s the point in going to confession Phonsie ?....as I wd still vote yes.
ReplyDeleteYes Yes Yes.
Then you are excommunicated and you should never be given Holy Communion or the Last Rites.
DeleteYou are on your way to Hell.
Please don't tell me that you go to Mass. You don't belong among us if you voted for the murder of babies.
DeleteCatch yourself on...no such place as hell.
ReplyDeleteYou'll not be saying that when you are there, my friend.
Delete14:37: You said that with all the plaintive, concerned, filial compassion that I'd expect of a Catholic committed not to God, but to the Roman harlot.
DeleteYes, you will certainly draw 'em t' Jesus.😆
You certainly don't.
DeleteDoes 14:33 hypocritically say the Creed when he/she makes a cultural Catholic appearance at baptisms, first Holy Communions, weddings and funerals. Probably, and that's a big part of the problem.
DeletePhonsie who? Totally insignificant person, he was the one clowning around Bunratty Castle as a Jester in his younger days for tourists for god sakes. Who’s going to listen to such a fool. He had to climb down recently on his misguided views on a moral issue by making an arse of himself, how could you take that eejit seriously.
ReplyDeleteAnd he is one ejit.
DeleteBishop Phonsie is preaching in season and out of season, he'll be thinking about the Sermon on the Mount's words about being blessed when people revile you, St Paul's injunctions to hold fast to that which is good and not to eat your own condemnation and Timothy warning against itchy ears seeking new doctrine.
DeleteThese are all uncomfortable teachings for the Cultural Catholics who've never heard them preached. Be off with you to your abortories and let the real Catholics get on with it.
So who else thinks that E Martin is a coward ?....he cantstand Up and be the bishop that he supposed to be
ReplyDeletePs...no one in their right mind would want Sean the Brady.
15:32...The two Archbishops of Armagh, Archbishop Eamon Martin and Church of Ireland Archbishop Richard Clarke departed on Wednesday 30 May on a ‘pilgrimage of hope’ to the Somme in Messines, Belgium, to mark the upcoming centenary of the end of the First World War.
DeleteA cross-community delegation of young people from across Ireland will join the Archbishops in visiting a number of historic and poignant sites relating to the war, culminating in a reflective visit to the Island of Ireland Peace Park at Messines.
The delegation of 36 people includes a core group of 16 young people representing the Protestant and Catholic traditions who will have a chance to forge friendships and share their thoughts and hopes for the future while exploring their cultural identities.
What's your problem? I don't see Buckley lead any cross community peace building trips.
We all can have busy schedules and I'm sure AB Martin's is little different.
The man can't be everywhere.
No bigger cowards than the bloggers that post on this site heading behind a computer screen and me included!
This will be my last post on this farcical tripe blog.
Best wishes Pat Buckley.
Magherfelt resident off 45 years.
Buckley not welcome by 98% off Magherfelt parishioners, Fact!
18.20 Phew! So glad that’s your last post on the blog after that load of old codswallop you’ve just written. Who are you trying to kid? As you know so much about this trip to Belgium and are an authority on its detail, perhaps you could confirm to the blog if any employees of the Archdiocese are taking part on this holiday (sorry trip) and who is paying for it? Thank you 45 year Parishioner of Magherafelt.
Delete18.20 I thought Pat did wonderful work for both traditions with his visit to the loyalist pub last year and the honouring of two catholic priests by the protestant people.
Delete4 Catholic priests actually :-)
Delete18.20: I hope Buckley listens to you. Sadly, he won't. He is too self obsessed, utterly sinister, arrogantly self righteous and obdurate that he doesn't give a care about his behaviour as long as it gives him publicity as a so called peace mediator. It is so unfortunate that he is encouraging such divisiveness and presenting his own narrative as the only truth. He serves his own agenda only and I believe he only creates acrimony not peace.
Delete19.10 well done, Pat. I will always remember it. The peace process should be made up of 1000's of great moments like that, not this unseemly and ultimately tragic race to a 51% majority. I always thought of Nationalists as victims until these years of block voting by nationalists for Sinn Fein. Nothing to do with peace in my view.
DeleteThanks 19.12 but why have you put such energy into so many negative phrases. Pat has the courage of his convictions to put his name to his words and take the inevitable hits. With somebody like him we should be helping out in every way to facilitate the issues that he highlights (whether out of hurt or a sense of justice). It is a chance for us to get perspective and learn something.
Delete19.30 - You are blind to the full story and narrative. Pat has always sought attention through his vengeful approach. I am very aware of THE TRUTH and I would always encourage dialogue, listening, mutual respect and tolerance. Pat's intrusion is like Arlene Foster stepping into a dispute within Sinn Fein and dictating the solution. Totally unacceptable that Pat should promote even more dissension. Whatever about Fr. Gates misjudgment, Pat's narrative and presence only heightens angry emotions. It is a cruelty to the children and their families.
Delete18.46: Why don't you join Pat's Brigade at Larne? I think you'd find a very comfortable home at the Oratory, but then, I'd imagine you'd soon be very disillusioned and spiritually poisened.
Delete18.20. It looks as though you are a jumped up wee fart sounds likes gates views. He thinks he has won his battle with Magherafelt it's not over with yet. Who are you to speak for 98% of Magherafelt. If you lived in Magherafelt for 45yrs you know what to do. Slide on. Would love to know where u got your 98% from you clown that don't agree with Bishop Buckley,s views. I More like 98% want rid of that jumped up wee fart gates. Is that yourself gates commenting there. Wouldn't surprise me. Know alot about Armagh,s goings on with Bishop Amy.
Delete20:51 Take some lessons in English please, I'm struggling to understand you!
DeleteA Buckley baby boy at his best! I've just bought you another Dumby my little young friend!
UTV van with satellite dish on top outside Magherafelt Church earlier - where you being interviewed outside Bishop Pat? Looked like you.
ReplyDeleteIt should be on the main BBC 10 o'clock news... and Newsnight with Evan Davis.
Delete14.33...me...didn’t have a vote...but Yes it would have been a Yes vote.
ReplyDeleteIm medically aware...been working in the medical field for over 30 years.
A mother, grandmother, regular mass and see myself as a Catholic.
Are you who is denigrating me aware that manyyounglive together, have sex withmore than one in their lives....seldom go to mass, but can marry,be bridesmaid, groomsman, sponsor at baptism, sponsor at confirmation....maybe do Re for A level...train as teachers....I could go on.
A long list of hypocrites there. The Church is a community of the committed, properly instructed who try to follow the rules. Cultural Catholics treat their local church like a hotel where you make the occassional booking. Even more shameful are the clergy who play along with this sharade.
Delete17.02 I find it amazing all the people who are trying to justify voting in abortion on the grounds that they think they have more'knowledge' or awareness'. My vote was guided by St Anthony of Padua who lived his life as best he could in obedience to the bishops trying their best on faith and morals.
Delete17.02: A medical background!! Your grammar is appalling. You need to look into your conscience. A Yes vote = death/deliberate killing of the fragile, precious, unborn child.
Delete19.15...poor you ...still good that you can still use adjectives randomly.
DeleteKeep her lit
Never heard of st Anthony of Padua....did he cut turf in a Derry bog by any chance?
DeleteUp the glenshane somewhere I think.
DeleteShould I watch a tv news?
ReplyDeleteDon’t want my tv on unless something important.
If the tv and radio crowd are in Magherafelt then you may well see the arrival of that darling of the airways Fr Brian Darcy.
ReplyDeleteSuch a blessing!
No Mercedes spotted yet in Magherafelt. Give it time.
DeleteThe big end is still being fixed. The Merc will soon purr up the Magherafelt main drag.
DeleteLol at properly instructed...by whom ?
ReplyDeleteYes I remember a pp years ago...great instructor...taking down a teen’s pants at school to slap him on the bare bottom...great instructor indeed.
the church is where many are born into...nothing more.
ReplyDeletePeople are too busy making a living to worry about instructions.Have a good moral compass in your life..and live and let live...no dictating to others about yes or no votes....be the best parent you can be...follow your parents example and you won’t go too far off the beaten track.
Your're a cultural pick 'n' mix Catholic.
DeleteGod love ya.19.19...keep posting
DeleteYou such an interesting poster.
Ha halaballouuuu
Eamon martin not doing confirmation tomorrow well that says it all @ security not allowing u to use ur phones my god all over the head of gates.lam afraid the devil has taken over our lovely sacred chapel good on u pat for standing up for us.You are more than welcome to our church @ 50% of the parish are behind you.GOD BE WITH YOU.
ReplyDelete19.93: The devil certainly has taken hold of you and your ilk. Disgraceful behaviour to engage in such vitriol, hatred and venom. Your confirmation gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit have deserted you a long time ago. Also, if you know anything about DATA PROTECTION and BEST CHILD PROTECTION POLICIES, you'd understand the reasons behind not allowing photos being taken on mobile phones etc..But continue in your blissful ignorance. As for Buckley's role in this saga - outrageous.
Delete20.30 You are probably one of the two faced brigade clapping and running up to shake hands but ridiculing the man behind his back. If Magherafelt people are like you then you deserve Fr Gates you old hypocrite.
Delete@20.30 Stand back for a moment and consider the options. This individual has committed numerous nasty and spiteful acts against the very parishioners he is suppose to serve and represent. Numerous parishioners have complained both to him and the Archbishop about him. They have got nowhere and indeed EM refused to acknowledge correspondence. Indeed of pontificating from your high horse, suggest a solution. Needs must, and I see no difficulty with parishioners directing their attention to Bishop Buckley in their forlorn attempts for justice.
DeletePat Buckley has more moral and Christian fibre in his little finger than the unchristian and ungodly PP in Magherafelt.
DeleteGood one gates.lam. The devil you know it. The church is opened to everybody. Its God's house as much as our,s and also that includes Bishop Buckley or anybody We are all human, The only problem is Fr.gates controls it and the parish with it.But at least I know there are far more than 50% would welcome Bishop Pat to Magherafelt Parish. So at least I have learned alot of so much goings on not only with the diocese an other issues on Bishop pat's blog. It's shocking.Total disgrace. Shame on parishioners sticking up for Fr.gates. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I will pray to God that gates will be shifted the sooner the better. Feels like a thorn in the side.
Delete20.57: In response to my legitimate comment at 20.30, I'm in my mid 40's and live in the West. Sorry to disappoint you but keep progressing in your vitriol.
DeleteDarcy just been seen at a hairdresser in toome getting his highlights done. Must be enroute to Marrafelt for interview. Perhaps he will sing for the confirmandi a few verses if “ A Mother’s love”s a blessing”
ReplyDeleteAnahorish Anthony
Anahorish Andy any sign of that Merc yet? I believe he has practised singing ‘I’ll take you home again Kathleen’. It reminds him of what he misse£ out on no5 being able to marry a woman. You might find someone out around Newbridge for him.
DeleteTho the craic round this town tonight about all this confirmation business and Fr gates is mighty. I’ve just started reading this blog this week. Great gas altogether
ReplyDeleteCome on gates on ur ass @ go as far away as possible @ dont come back
ReplyDeleteThe hairdresser was a blade called Cathy, she does great highlights. Merc was last seen speeding along past all three Parochial houses on the Aughrim Road. Darcy was seen waving at people from the car window.
ReplyDeleteNearly in the troubled parish. Cathy in Toome flirted outrageously with me. I told her that if I was twenty years younger we'd be off to the Irish College to tie the knot. We sang Dicey Reilly until I got an awful coughing fit. That's what lack of sleep does to you.
DeleteIt turns out that Cathy knows my usual hairdresser, Fanchea, in His and Hers in the Diamond in Enniskillen.
John Gates at Mass tonight in Magherafelt had some pre planned orchestrated round of applause on tap for his return. He had the poor Curate Bruiser Brannigan standing watch nervously at the door of the Church during Mass. During his month of absence AWOL he has a very healthy colour but we weren’t told anything about his illness, his recovery or whether he was feeling better or not. He was making a fuss of young and old after Mass which was nice to see as it’s never happened before. Are we seeing a new Fr. John, a man transformed maybe?
ReplyDeleteGates can provide Fr Brannigan with a reference for the Bouncers job at Secrets nightclub.
DeleteThey're looking for a door supervisor at the moment.

Fancy hiding behind your Curate, nothing short of pathetic.
DeleteA man shitting his holy roman kegs more like.
ReplyDeleteFew hand picked cronies probably started the clapping. No explanation about all his exploits in the paper @ elsewhere. He should be down on his knees begging forgiveness from all the people he bullied @ insulted but that will never happen. He is a con-man to the highest degree.
ReplyDeleteMcEniffs brother started the clapping. Quite a few in the Congregation smiled because they realised it was a set up.
DeleteClose the door on your way out 8.20...no one sentfor you.
ReplyDeleteEM needs to get his priorities in order.
Confirmation used to be an important day for the young...a slap on the cheek from a bishop.
Forby forgetting the answer to a stupid question
Oh how times have changed.
Ourbishops paradibg around the world acting the big fellas...bit like Arelene opening dinner donations.
I have heard gates never strays far from the toilet he must be absolutely shitting himself.Your era is over gates start packing @ dont forget to change ur nappy regularly
ReplyDeleteCan anyone answer this question why is fr gates even allowed near children with his reputation if it was anyone else they wouldnt even be allowed in the chapel
ReplyDeleteWas in the parish centre for a coffee last week, a treacherous place for gossip. I didn’t stop long when I realised the Fr Gates fan club where in there singing his praises. It’s the same small groups that stand around long after the Saturday evening Mass is over outside exchanging tittle tattle like maids at the market.
ReplyDelete21.43 O’Briens sponsor the Bingo so they should be able to give him a good discount on nappies and panty pads.
ReplyDeleteDo you think he's been dried out? I wonder.
ReplyDeleteIt must been a shit house he was dried out in. His face was all brown. Looks like a months shit he got in colour.
DeleteProbably dried and smoked.
DeleteWell he did tell a few he had a rest in Florida thanks to the Diocese because of his wee break down. Give him a break.
DeleteSome comments posted on the title 'Monsignor'. Yes, it's just a fancy title that belongs to a different time. There's so many monsignors in Clogher diocese that they're tripping over each other. There are at least ten of them in this small diocese......definitely some "interesting" characters among them.
ReplyDeletePartly explained by having Lough Derg in the diocese. That's how "Dick" Mohan got his Mgr.
Delete22.29 So many Monsignor’s in Clogher yet you didn’t bestow an honoury one on Fermanaghs greatest Son. He can’t get any sleep at the minute and the big end of his car is still causing trouble.
ReplyDeleteIf Gates is all about me and me and me and D’Arcy arrives on the scene then it will all be about me,me me me me me me me me me with the occasional break for me myself and I followed by me me me me me me etc etc etc
ReplyDeleteMe monsters.
DeleteHas anyone seen the post on the magherafelt parish Facebook page, with the explicit photo and it says fr gates and mceniff, coming back is only the beginning. To say I’m disgusted is an understatement!!! Time the people of magherafelt took a stand and got rid of this self serving, egotistical, pathetic bully!! I’m actually astounded that he thinks this is acceptable and for all the idiots welcoming him back you should be ashamed
ReplyDeleteA little tune about gates fr gates fr gates riding thru the glen with his band of merry men feared by the good loved by the bad, when along came pat,the protector of the good,to rid magherafelt of this evil dude ( gates) With one final swipe pat laid gates on his ass,and sent him out of town first CLASS sing this like the robin hood theme tune
ReplyDeleteIs the thespian back? Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo. Deny thy father and refuse thy name. He has certainly done both.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone want me at Magherawotsit the marra? I'm for hire and available.😆
ReplyDelete(Where is the bloody place anyway?😕)
Maggie, you wouldn’t dare. You’re very brave behind your keyboard. You wouldn’t dare leave the fetid little cave, under your troll bridge, where you dream up and compose your deranged diatribes. In the real world, you would sh*t yer drawers.
DeleteDear Magherafelt resident of 45 years, as a fellow Magherafelt resident of 45 years I would love to know where u have came up with your 98% statistics, I’m genuinely interested as I’ve spoken to quite a few people who are as disgusted as myself at the lack of respect John Gates has for his congregation. He is quite the most arrogant man I’ve ever had the misfortune to meet and I was a regular churchgoer, not any more though as I can’t stand the hypocrisy! The man does not deserve the title Fr and as for your 98% statement I can assure u that I have spoken to a large number of people from Magherafelt and they all have the same view of Mr Gates, a power hungry little man who enjoys bullying people who are scared of him. I couldn’t possibly give an exact percentage of people who are not happy with Mr Gates and nor would I be so bold as to hazard a guess but I would definitely estimate the number of disgruntled parishioners to be more than the poultry 2% that you seem to be so sure of!!! So maybe you could enlighten me as to how you reached this figure or are you just another blind Gates supporter who actually knows nothing of the hurt he has caused to countless members of this community.
ReplyDeleteHe's Gatecrashing OUR parish.
ReplyDeleteMy god is mceniff a dipstick does he not know that gates run out on him and will do the same again if need be.Magherafelt parish is being run by an idiot and he is supported by idiots
ReplyDeleteAnyone know what a "big end" is in a car engine? Apparently, once it goes thats it for the car.
ReplyDeleteSpecifically I wondered:
- what does it do?
- where is it?
- why is it so hard to fix?
thanks.
I thought you knew everything. It's in Co Londonderry.
ReplyDeleteA big end is when we put gates on a donkey @ kick him up the ass @ send him back where he came from. Now thats a big end
