MAYNOOTH - QUESTIONS.

MORE AND MORE QUESTION ARISE ABOUT MAYNOOTH AND VARIOUS ACTIVITIES THERE.

We know that seminarians there have been sexually active with each other, with priests and with laymen.

Some seminarians have left as a result and a small number have been sent away.

Some sources that the Maynooth problem goes deeper than simple sex between two men.

There are claims about the use of drugs by seminarians - so-called "poppers" and Class A drugs like LSD and magic mushrooms.

These poppers and drugs are brought in by seminarians and seminarians friends.

There are claims that seminarians have practiced BDSM - bondage, domination, and sadomasochism under the influence of drugs.

One at least one occasion this led to a bone fracture.

There are claims that a small number of seminarians are providing "rent boy" services to priests in various parts of the country and to more senior clerics.

There are claims that as a result of these services some seminarians are blackmailing priests and senior clerics.

There are claims that some of these activities take place in private homes in well healed Dublin suburb to where seminarians are summoned singly or in pairs.

There are claims that seminarians are selling viagra and poppers to other seminarians, priests and Maynooth lay students.

One report says that an ex-seminarian is receiving a generous monthly stipend from a very senior cleric.

That ex-seminarian and his benefactor have been to a Dublin sauna together.

Up to now, many people thought that a few seminarians were simply bedding each other and others.

But it seems the corruption is much deeper - involving money, blackmail, drugs and people on long-term stipends.

Of course, all this has happened in Rome and in different parts of the world.

Now, it is happening in the church in Ireland.

Names have been mention - some very surprising and some not so surprising.

It goes from the bottom to the top and all the way back down again.

      They may have agendas?

I am not the police with forensic facilities.

To prove these allegations to a level acceptable to a court of law, these people, or some of them, would have to make sworn statements.

    2. I have nearly finished "Goodbye Good Men". I don't agree with all it's views but it seems to be saying that piety was frowned on but they wanted you to explore your sexuality. In America it was hard for a heterosexual to stay as the atmosphere was so sexually charged. Donald Cozzens says the same thing in his books. They have known about this for several decades and done nothing.

    3. 10:16 Yes, and amazingly, piety was indeed frowned upon. Why? The Cain-and-Abel syndrome? It's a plausible explanation. The Cains prefer to live in the shadows rather than in the searching light of emerging holiness in another. This light merely shows up lack of holiness and makes the Cains highly uncomfortable. It's why unrepentant souls cast themselves into eternal darkness rather than enter the inscrutable light of God's love and mercy.

I recall a fellow student's once being chided by a dean for 'praying too much', despite the fact that Paul-the-self-styled Apostle exhorts his readers to 'pray constantly'.

      Seriously.😕

According to Genesis, Cain did eventually father children, but, as we both know, this part of Genesis is pre-history, in other words, 'not historical narrative'.

Cain, as spiritual metaphor, fathered many, many children: spiritually bad children.

  7. ROME 2013

A convicted paedophile priest has claimed a rent boy ring operated at the Vatican with clergymen hiring teenagers for sex inside churches.

Don Patrizio Poggi, 46, who served a five-year sentence for abusing five boys aged 14 to 15, at his parish outside Rome, has given police a list of nine names.

Four people have been placed under investigation - including a monsignor who is currently the secretary of an important bishop, it has been alleged.

Also being investigated is a former Carabinieri policeman suspected of recruiting under-age boys for the alleged prostitution ring.

The ex-officer apparently snared the teenagers, mostly eastern European immigrants, outside a gay bar named Twink near Rome's Termini train station.

    5. I think the despicably dishonest ruse of people buying up online huge quantities of free tickets (--originally intended for ensuring admittance and adequate standing space during the Pope's visit-) and then destroying the tickets with no intention of using them on the day should be roundly condemned by all decent people. This has been happening as a result of a Facebook campaign which is "determined to make the attendance look small" One trickster ordered 400 tickets with false details and a fictitious story about "organising coachloads". The 45,000 tickets for Knock are now all "allocated" and many bona fide folk will now be disappointed and unduly so because of that scam. One other trickster called Jonathan Keane, using three different email addresses, snatched up 800 tickets which will be destroyed unused. Are these people so keen to pretend that the "attendance was low" that they will sink to this level of subterfuge??
Pat, you always claim that you are keen to uncover lying and dishonesty - - So what is your opinion of this then?

    8. 14:09 If your post is reliable, then what has happened is disgraceful, morally reprehensible, and, hopefully, a criminal offence.

But could it be a deception by pro-Francis elements to help explain what they fear will be low turn-outs vis a vis Pope JP II's rallies in 1979?

      Delete
    9. @14.09, re the Papal visit tickets, just maybe thats the excuse that will be used for the poor turnout at Knock etc.
      Preemptive strike eh! Clever......

      Delete
    10. I think the final turnout at Knock will be high, all 45,000 tickets were gone shortly after 9am. The various Facebook groups only started to organize later that morning and have been block-booking for the Phoenix Park. Tickets still available there, by the way.

      Delete
    11. All the tickets, full capacity, for the Papal visit to Knock got snapped up in a few hours after release. Sorry to disappoint 14.57

      Delete
    12. 14.09 Your info about Papal tickets is totally false. You claim someone used 3 different email addresses to apply for 800 tickets. One email address can only apply for 6 tickets each. Now my Maths has never been up to scratch but I think 3 email addresses multiplied by 6 tickets each equals 18 tickets. Your figure of 800 is totally inaccurate and is not possible.

      Delete
    13. @15:57 it’s not so far-fetched, you can buy ‘bot’ software online for a few hundred Euros that can harvest hundreds of tickets. The same software touts use for concerts.

      Delete
    14. 16:43 But then, the 'software' is accessible to either side in this matter, isn't it? To pro-Francis elements as much as to Francis' detractors?

If the subterfuge reported at 14:09 is actually going on, then do we really know which side is responsible for it? The pro-Francis element has motive just as strong (perhaps stronger, given the feared, relatively low turn-outs) as that of Francis' opponents.

      Delete
    15. It was extremely unjust to insinuate that 14.09 must "associate with the low...."because he/she drew Pat's attention to this scam.. .and it most certainly is a scam and has been happening .

      Delete
    16. Oh come on Magna... There is no deception on the part of the sellers... Why would they tell people wrongly "They're all sold" and thus prevent further sales?! That doesn't make sense...

      Delete
    17. 17:35 But which side in this attrition of 'secular' versus the 'sacred' is responsible for it? Associating it with the secular simply because you call it 'a scam' is not reasonable, nor is it fair: the sacred is not unfamiliar with scams in its history.

      Delete
    18. 17:53 I did not say that the reported deception was perhaps being committed by 'the sellers', but by pro-Francis elements trying to avoid the embarrassment of low turn-outs of people at papal venues in Ireland relatve to those at the time of JPII's visit here in 1979.

Most pro-Francis supporters are not involved in distributing tickets for these venues.

  15. BY EDGAR ALBERT GUEST

Somebody said that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

    Somebody scoffed: “Oh, you’ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it;”
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
    Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure,
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
    Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing
That “cannot be done,” and you’ll do it.

  23. Why are people surprised that a system of drug smuggling and an active sex trade has fine tuned itself in Maynooth since the early 80's. The drive to force out young men who were obviously heterosexual, especially if they liked a pint or played sport, began in earnest under the stewardship of MML. His range of wigs and convenient insomnia allowed him to drift through the night.

On the night of the first Sunday of September 1986 MML addressed the large group of new recruits and likened them to trail blazers. In hindsight years later it would have been better to have been able to read the Braille Teasers that all was not well in the House of MayNudes.

A few interesting facts about that night. Paulette A Priori was the baby of that group (baby not babe), Chewi Conn was the monitor based in the centre of Long Corridor and sang the first song to get an impromptu get together going. The triumvirate of Top Cat, Nellisauras and the Munchins Mauler prowled around in the bushes to watch the crowd disperse to shared rooms in Long Corridor, wondering would the room lottery have worked for these new twosomes. Strangest day of my life and so strange to read through some of the historic blogs on here last night and to see that Paullette became a doppelganger of Nelly. a quick look at a recent photo of PP and one of NA from the mid 90's even show a scary resemblance. The foundation was laid to place the power base firmly in the hands of a strengthening Gay Cabal.

Paul Prior was sly from the start.

    2. I stand corrected, Ned was the youngest. He lived down the noisy end of Long Corridor, far away from the Hairdressing Salon. I remember Groanin Ronin appearing down one evening to complain about the noise, rolling his R's. Ned had just let fly with the sliothar and nearly landed it in Bonin Mac Liomars mouth. One night in 1986 some of the Tulips had a party in a bedroom above Fr James O'Kane's rooms. No alcohol, just Ribena and giggles.

Poor James (a co-di of Pat's in those days) appeared at the party door in stripy pjs and made a very timid protest. The big camp Scots Robbie Coltrane lookalike in the class laughed at him.

James got on the house phone to the Junior Dean. Duhig was over in minutes and scattered the Tulips. He had a look of total disgust as he looked at them leaving the room. I saw this happening from down the corridor.

  27. I suppose the question I would really like to ask is what influence the impending raft of scandals had on ideas of formation in the 80's?

Did the focus on formation become lazy and lost as Triumvirates focused on disease eradication? Easy to eradicate those who might bring a member of the opposite sex to a quarry at night where steamed up windows might attract attention. Relatively easy to eradicate those who might end up having a few drinks, leading to them kicking a fellow priest up the ass in a local pub following a tense football match.

What remained was a group where the majority were increasingly effeminate, androgynous or actually actively practicing homosexuals. With how active some were and with how voracious they were in practicing, they pretty much perfected it.

Crux question/ Could someone have actually suggested that turning a blind eye to certain activities might lead to a safer church less likely to expose itself to scandal? A certain amount of copping off and coupling up in-house would go under the radar and hopefully lessen the chances of a priest predator of pubescence rearing their ugly head. Of course it would be a lot less of a threat to the Church's wealth too. Just putting this out there for consideration and discussion

  32. These 2 comments with names associated with LSD and Amyl Nitrite are indeed sinister. There were Poppers in Maynooth 4 decades ago. I would be more concerned with the Puppets than the Poppers.

The plot to disable Maynooth goes back to the time Pat began his Pavement Pounding Placard Pushin Pursuits a lifetime ago, well a Christ-ike lifetime ago in that it must be 33 years. The placement of a parade of Pernicious Pansies has inflicted more self-flagellation than in a mid-eighties Mary's party where purple braided leather whips were de rigeur.

Who are the handful of Grandmasters and who plays this Gambit? Methinks a Cardinal sin or two, or maybe a 'wannabe' Cardinal sin or two befell this Institution in the last half century. Maynooth is not the major problem, but it certainly became the target and the means to self destruct the very fabric of the Catholic Church in Ireland. In reality Pat, it will not drive people in the direction of The Oratory, it is driving the hordes away from Catholicism totally.

I feel sympathies for the many fine men who went through those walls, have dedicated their lives to God, have saved numerous lives and enriched hundreds of thousands of lives, yet now are deemed guilty by association in the eyes of the blinkered. That is the biggest disservice and sin of all. Someone in Positions of Pivotal Power Placed these Pernicious Pansies that Picked the Pocket of Purity.
