THE ARMAGH ABUSE CASE

BLOG PASSES 5 MILLION READERS

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE BLOG HAS LEARNED THAT THE FAMILY OF ONE OF THE VICTIMS OF ABUSE IN THE BIG ARMAGH ABUSE CASE HAVE BEGUN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS AGAINST ARMAGH, EAMON MARTIN, AND SEAN BRADY.

This particular family do not need and will not accept money from Eamon Martin to buy their silence.

The blog has also been given copies of the correspondence between Father William Mulvihill and the Armagh Safeguarding (God bless the mark) Officer David Gordon.

FROM GORDON TO FATHER BILL:

"An allegation made on Social Media

On 31 Jul 2018, at 12:33 pm, Aidan Gordon <safeguardingdirector@archdioceseofarmagh.com> wrote:

Dear Fr. Mulvihill,

It has been brought to my attention that you are alleged to have made a statement on a Social Media platform in respect of a diocesan priest and a safeguarding matter.  You are reported to have stated “There is a major cover-up by The Gardai and The Archdiocese in this case.” Can I clarify if it is accurate that you have, in fact, made that statement?  In the past, there have been occasions when someone has claimed to be a particular individual making statements on Social Media and it has been a case of impersonation.

If the statement was made by yourself, I would like to have a conversation with you about the matter.  We have previously corresponded in relation to this and I may be in a position to provide you with reassurance that all complaints of a Safeguarding nature are reported to the relevant Statutory Authorities.  Is there a convenient time when I could ring you or call to see you?  Alternatively you can ring me in my office on (028) 3752 5592 or call in if you are in the vicinity.

Kind Regards,
Aidan Gordon
Director of Safeguarding"

Dear Fr. Mulvihill,

I would like to advise you that if you have information relating to the Safeguarding of Children or knowledge of any risk to children you should report it immediately to An Garda Siochana and Tusla.  Under the Children First Act 2015 you are considered a ‘mandated person’ and therefore obliged to report any concerns or suspicions you may have that a child has been harmed, is being harmed or is at risk of being harmed to Tusla.  This information was previously communicated to you by letter on 11th December 2017 when these provisions came into force.

The contact details for the relevant Tusla office for Co. Louth are:

Child and Family Agency
Meath Enterprise Centre
Trim Road
Navan

Tel.:  046 9098560

For allegations that relate to members of the Clergy or Religious they should be reported directly to An Garda Siochana National Protective Services Bureau.  They may be contacted on 01 6663430 or on 01 6663435.

I hope you find this helpful and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you require any assistance in reporting any concerns you might have.

Dear Mr. Gordon

You spent one and a half hours in the kitchen of the house where I reside, your every word on that occasion is available.

Don’t play silly games with me…you are out of your depth.

See you comply with the law as opposed to being Martins minion.

PAT SAYS:

From this email exchange it would appear to me that Father Mulvihill reported the big abuse case to archbishops house and the Safeguarding Officer (,God bless the mark) came to Father Bill's home and they had a one and a half hour meeting..

That meeting had to be about the report Father Bill submitted.

From recent events it appears that Gordon and Eamon Martin did not investigate and act to Father Mulvhill's satisfaction.

When the issue appeared on this blog, Gordon wrote to Father Bill wanting to question him on the appearance on the blog.

Father Bill did not want to meet Gordon as he felt it was pointless.

He went on to tell Gordon that he was Eamon Martin's minion. He further indicated that he felt that Gordon had not, in his opinion,  do his job.

We are all still left in the air on this one.

QUESTIONS:

1. Did this abuse take place?

2. Has it been investigated by the Garda and Armagh diocese?

3. What did Sean Brady know about it and for how long?

4. What did Eamon Martin know about it and for how long?

5. Did Aidan Gordon fulfill ALL his duties with regard this case.

6. Is it true that 3 victims are dead and 1 in hospital?

7. Did the accused priest, Sean Brady, Eamon Martin or the diocese pay anyone any money in these cases.

8. We're the Gardai informed of all these events and what what did they do?

9. Have these events played a major role in Father Bill's latest issues.

10. Has Eamon Martin being a Father Bishop to Bill , as is his duty?

  7. I have a letter from Gordon from two years ago which i requested from him clearly indicating I had done all I could do. The letter has fine detail describing the Archdiocesan take on the victim and how troubled they considered him. I have further correspondence from them in relation to a Collon matter which I reported to the Police and to the church as well as the HSE. These three groups made a judgement and continued to allow an individual remain in use of the hall in Collon despite evidence that there was a major issue.

  9. You’ve run out of steam on this one Pat. Stop taking advantage of the ravings of a mentally ill man. The emails show Aidan Gordon is trying to do his job but Bill Mulvihill is not cooperating. Maybe a visit from the Gardai about his mandatory reporting duties under the law might jolt Bill back to reality. In the meantime, leave him alone.

It is the responsibility of all, including Mulvihill, to report any suspicion of abuse and to leave the responsibility thereafter with relevant, juridical agents of the state, Tusla and an Gardai. To be narrating his version and intimating sinister motivations to all kinds of people is a very dangerous precedent. He is now on a warpath which, sadly, will end in tears for him. The threatening tone of his words are totally unacceptable. How is it justifiable, morally or ethically, to indiscriminately throw around names before any factual, verifiable evidence? 33. There is a worrying hint of truth in Fr Bill's allegations. While I would like to believe it's not true and possibly he may be wrong. However what he is insinuating does not quite sound like the ravings of a mad man. However the allegations have now been made and what Fr Bill suggests does seem to ring true. I would suggest that these now be fully investigated, properly and to the letter and if necessary prosecutions take place at all levels were neglect, harm and willfull disregard took place. 35. Readership and support for this blog grow because it is apparent that for the Catholic clerical Establishment it is business as usual. There is an endemic culture of cover up and enabling. How could it be otherwise when Catholic teaching on sexuality militates against truthfulness and integrity? I see no evidence whatsoever that the bishops do anything until a case is exposed, and then they have the brass neck to deny all knowledge and express shock and surprise. It cannot be that Wuerl and Farrell had nothing on McCarrick, when a quick google shows plenty of stuff on him over twenty years and more. In UK things go on nicely until the BBC or newspaper blow the gaff. An ex Birmingham priest James Robinson was spirited away by Couve de Murville to the USA where for TWENTY-FIVE years he continued to draw his diocesan salary before a BBC journalist tracked him down. He’s now serving 21 years for the usual, but no thanks to the Church; even Nicholls did nothing, it seems. And don‘t get me started on Nicholls‘s sainted predecessor at Westminster. Strength to all your efforts, Pat. May God bless and protect you.

Farrell is lying through his teeth about what he knew about McCarrick. Farrell is the guy at the front of the WMF. It’s a total sham. Sickening to say the least.

Bill is clearly deeply troubled about a very grave matter that hasn’t been handled to his satisfaction.

I believe Bill’s concerns are real and, in the latest darkness cast by McCarrick, I have no doubt as to the extent of the corruption in the Irish Church.

The “wounded healer” needs close scrutiny. Those he promoted and promotes are highly suspect and must also be scrutinised carefully.

Will we ever get to the end of all this?

  50. 14.02: Pat, you obviously are not fully aware of how parishioners think of Mulvihill. He has followers, as have all priests, including angry, malcontents with axes to grind, and he has many who find his outbursts bizarre. The homily is for opening the Word Of God and not a forum for denouncing, judging and condemning others. Mulvihill needs to reassess his "priorities" - if he is so displeased, so unhappy and so unamenable to others, he should bow out. But it suits you, Pat, to have an ally sing the same ugly narrative - "all are wrong" except you, and now, except Mulvihill. As a lay person, I have witnessed other clergy use their sense of deep injustices and wrongs to become better priests themselves. They, to me are the true heroes, who go about their work quietly, with commitment and with integrity. They achieve much renewal by the example of their own spirituality, prayer and holiness. You seem to have embraced this Mr. Mulvihill only to further your vicious anti Catholic tirades. He does not inspire all whom he encounters.

  53. I don't like anything about Northern Irish Culture. I loath crossing the border. Trump is welcome to build a Mexican wall and I have never been in Larne or want to be....another troglodyte are you 15.13..... A rainey endowed friend of mine years ago had the solution to the northern question.....sticks of dynamite around the border and blow it to .... The Mainland does not want it, I could not think of anything worse that the never existent " Irish Unity". They are a different race in the north....more in common with one another on each side that either citizens of the Republic or The English generally. Hope that clears up the Larne question.

10 years later the Church " divorced" me.

A divorcee does not have the same obligations as a married person does.

I am no longer a Roman Catholic cleric.

I am not bound by RC rules.

Patsy you know full well that The Holy Church does not believe in Divorce! You were dismissed!
You then started your own SECT and the only rules you are bound by are the ones you make up yourself. You are certainly not Catholic in any form.

  67. A former priest in the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska, reports that the former Vocations Director who died in 2008 had for decades preyed upon young seminarians. The priest says he complained to then Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz who was famous for his uncompromising conservative Moral stance; as indeed was his Vocations Director. The priest, who didn’t keep his vow of celibacy either, writes of the problems of being a heterosexual in a world controlled by a clerical gay cabal, the example of double standards as normative and the consequential psychological screw up.
