ARMAGH PRIEST DENIES GRINDR ALLEGATIONS

Image result for grindr

ANOTHER SENIOR ARMAGH PRIEST HAS BEEN ACCUSED OF LOOKING FOR OLDER MEN ON GRINDR!

The priest flatly denies the allegations.

The priest has been accused  of meeting men in the car park of the Lidl store in Dundalk in County Louth which is besides a wooded area known as St. Helenas Park.

A man who claims he met the priest on Grindr says:

"He is a priest who frequents Grindr and who " likes the more mature man" as is his profile trademark.

He lives in the Xxxxxxx area. He likes to arrange a meeting with mature men and always suggests the car park of Lidl at St. Helena's Park in the town. I know he physically turns up at Lidl but in disguise. I know this as I've changed my profile on Grindr to find out who this time waster is.

THE LIDL CARPARK WHERE ALLEGED MEETINGS TOO PLACE

He comes across as being very understanding and " do keep in touch" attitude, nice and understanding. Except he's far from it.

Ordinarily, I don't out people but his guy is such a time waster and con artist. The "genuine" sort, except he's far from it".

I informed Eamon Martin of the matter yesterday morning at 9am:

Dear Eamon,

I have had another report of one of your fairly senior priests been active on the gay sex application GRINDR.

He is Father Xxx xxx Xxxxx.

He allegedly meets men in the car Park of the Lidl store at St. Helena's Park.
He looks for mature men.

I enclose a picture of his GRINDR profile.
Are you aware that there is a widespread network of actively gay priests and seminarians in Armagh?

Are you doing anything about it?

With all due respect, giving big speeches at synods is fine - but what of all the shenanigans in the diocese?

Please let me know you are acting on this gay network.

Sincerely
Pat

I gave the priest a call yesterday in his presbytery to put the accusation to him and when I found he was not at home left a message.

Later yesterday I had an email from the priest:

Dear Pat,

I have received your voice message of this morning and I have spoken to my Archbishop.

This matter is causing me great distress and I completely deny these malicious and defamatory accusations.

I intend to seek immediate legal advice and to report this matter to the police for investigation.

Yours sincerely,

Xxxx Wxxxxx

I replied:

Dear Xxxxxx

Thank you for your reply.

I am putting your denial to he who has accused you.
Pat

I have sent the denial to the man making the allegations.

PAT SAYS:

A couple of weeks ago in Rome, Eamon Martin stood up at the synod and told his fellow bishops from around the world that they should not be afraid to stand up for traditional Catholic teaching in public.

Is Eamon standing up for that teaching in his own diocese and among his own priests?

We have had a succession of Armagh priests on Grindr and showing their genitalia on the internet.

And what has Eamon done - apart from sending them for "treatment" for a few months in the US?

I have also made him aware of the seminarian/priest gay network in Armagh.

Again I can see no signs of anything being done!

Is Amy ALL CACKLE AND NO EGG?

  1. Recognise the Grindr profile. Can't say there's anything too unique or anything. Grindr and the Boilerhouse are full of priests.

Seems like the guy who reported it had unrealistic unexpectations of what would come from a car park hookup.

Polly, why do you? the drunken auld pedant and cretin of the blog, always have to insult me, as usual in the early hours of the morning when you're full of the gargle. Your hatred of me is quite concerning, was it something I said? We are not ordinary Catholics as you say, we are "The Faithful" who despite all the appalling things we read on this blog from evil apostates like you, hold firm to the teaching of The Holy Church. We I assure you want rid of all these dreadful priests who do not live up to their vows and who live a disgusting lifestyle like you. We pay no attention to disciples of satin such as you who are on the road to perdition, very soon I hope. Evviva Maria!

    11. Bella, the problem isn’t the teaching of the Church but the gross hypocrisy of so many clergy that goes up to the top of the hierarchy. A significant number don’t practice what the Church teaches and the hierarchy have covered up criminality of clergy for generations. The clerical fraternity and culture has taken precedence over the gospel, sadly.

  3. This latest Armagh scandal couldn’t come at a worse or more inopportune moment; and it will be a terrible further embarrassment, just as the announcement was about to be made, on Friday at 11:00am, of the appointment, by Pope Francis, of the Very Reverend Timothy Bartlett, as Auxiliary Bishop, to the Archbishop of Armagh.

The announcement will have be postponed by the Holy See yet again. This is appallingly unfair to Fr Bartlett and his brother priests, in Down and Connor and Armagh.

Indeed, the presbyterates of Down and Connor and Armagh, collectively, view Dr Bartlett’s elevation to the episcopate as a true sign of hope and new life for the Irish Church, that a new Springtime of grace and favor is about to commence.

In particular, Cardinal Sean will be devastated as he makes no secret of his desire, before the Lord calls him to his eternal reward, to see Fr Tim settled down - and in - as a Bishop.

One can only hope that this further delay will be broken to His Eminence very gently.

Yet again, this bothersome blog and its author serves to wreak havoc in the lives of good men and true like Bishop Tim and to prevent God’s Holy Will from being carried out to the letter.

I hope you are proud of yourself, Pat Buckley.

    4. Mc Garry in the IT on Tuesday took a good swipe at bishops and clergy for their “simmering resentment” around the “negativity” in the media, at the time of the Pope’s visit. Another case of “shoot the messenger”. Will they ever learn?

Basically, the Pope’s visit was not a success. It must be very embarrassing for them to have to organise this further collection to defray costs and debts.

Bartlett has dropped out of sight since the visit. Maybe he’s on another sabbatical? What does that fellow do all day, one wonders, when there are no papal visits to be badly organised?

    +Pat

Isn't it noteworthy the said profile has been taken down. If it's not who I allege it is ....how come this person just happened to know to take it down just right at this poignant time.

Pat, this guy became active on grindr about two years ago when he was posted locally. Co-incidence, I think not.

I don't make spurious claims against innocent people. Why would I just happen to pick on him!

His smarmy attitude of quasi caring and keeping in touch reeks of fake. He's able to meet daytime when it suits him. If he was working he couldn't be free at short notice. I told him on grindr how dare he waste my time. Methinks he gets off on arranging to meet and them at last minute conscience kicks in. Yes, there are many gay active priests who are homophobic yet gay sexually active.

Carrying on scurrying around in bushes and woods. Heading off to the sauna. And Grindr. It simply does not shock anymore, and is what I by and large expect of clergy behaviour. What does that say ?

And I suspect / know that bishops know that this is going on, but they too have just come to expect it as par for the course with many of their clergy. If they take them to task, they risk losing a priest, and that presents them with a bigger problem of manpower. So, like me, they just put up with it. I imagine + Martin of Armagh will just have yawned when he was told about this particular Lidl car park priest !

If you really want to exercise your minds over something very serious, keep in touch with the IICSA sessions that will be taking place next week. I think there is going to be all sorts of dirty linen being washed in public. Have a look at the stuff about the Benedictine schools in England. It was bad, shocking. This stuff continues to undermine the credibility and integrity of the Church leadership. The Lidl car park / Grindr priest may be a bit of a diversion and fun to read about but the IICSA stuff is deadly and existential.

  31. Amy is all false image. I have written to him several times in his capacity as head of the trustees of Maynooth. He does not respond.

Amy is fake, fake, fake. Another man using the priesthood for a comfy life. Shame on him.

  32. Isn't it strange and curious, begging many questions, that when this blog attempts to be reflective about spiritual, social, moral and religious faith topics, it gets a paltry response, but when topics of a sexual nature are aired, the numbers rises fast. I wonder why! There are many who just love the deviancy of sexually active men, be they gay, bi, married, cleric or whatever. Seems there are lots of unfulfilled people out there who need Pat to juice up their sex! He rarely fails.

    1. @19: 38; The hypocrisy of so many of the clergy, in the light of the child sexual abuse criminality, is a ‘spiritual, social, moral and religious faith topic’. This isn’t simply ‘a topic of a sexual nature’. Might I suggest to you ‘the numbers rise fast’ on this blog, because sexually active clerics come on the blog to defend their colleagues, shoot the messenger and ridicule, as their consciences are unsettled. It seems to me that there are a considerable number of sexually unintegrated men in the clergy who rationalize promiscuity and use grindr... etc..to act out sexually... willy nilly.
Bishop Pat is giving a window into the murky aspects of the clerical culture. Thousands of lives have been ruined by clerical sexual promiscuity, abuse and cover up. Widen your purview on the matter.

    2. 20.35: While I agree that the corruption, sexually and otherwise is of a serious moral nature, the point I was attempting to make at 19.38 is that there are undoubtedly many who love reading about the sexual lives of other, irrespective of who they are and are often fired up in a sexual way themselves. Sometimes the content of responses is of a pornographic nature. I don't agree with this. I do not condone abusive behaviour of any kind but it often appears (by the nature of comments) that some get a sexual high! Whereas, when topics of a deeper, reflective spiritual narure appear, responses are very sparse. I guess sex in all its forms and perversions sells well as a story, whoever its participants may be. Surely all of us who believe in the gift, sanctity and beauty of sexuality should exercise respect, care and self protection, including Pat himself, who is most certainly not my icon to imitate. I look to Jesus for this.

    3. @21:31; The so called sexual abuse scandal/crisis and much corruption in the Rc Church is not simply of a serious moral nature, but is also crime requiring justice and not just sin to be forgiven.
Tabloids sell partly through encouraging prurient interest in sexual matters.
It seems to me that much of the responses of a ‘pornographic nature’ to this blog come from immature individuals or clerics or seminarians and it may be the case that some of these individuals get ‘a sexual high’...sad but possible..maybe another form of cyber sex for some addicts!
It’s a pity many of the Rc Church clergy and hierarchy who promoted and claimed to uphold Church teaching on sexuality and believed in the gift, sanctity and beauty of sexuality, didn’t exercise sufficient respect, care and self protection or the protection of children and vulnerable adults and that many didn’t or don’t practice what’s preached or claimed as Church teaching on sexuality.
All Christians are supposed to look to and imitate Jesus. Our first loyalty as Christians is supposed to be to Jesus Christ.
When did Bishop Pat ask to be made anyone’s icon? Bishop Pat is highlighting Church criminality, corruption and hypocritical cover up much to the consternation of some clerics and members of the hierarchy who’d much prefer their duplicitous hypocritical lifestyles to remain hidden, while ‘ministering’ under the guise of the mission of Jesus Christ. For all of the spiritual naval gazing that’s gone on in Rc Church circles for generations, look at the mess of the Rc Church in the contemporary world.

  33. I completely agree. Eamon Martin does not reply to correspondence. I have written to him on unrelated matters. It speaks volumes. Enough said!

  34. He’s not alone in failing to respond to mail. (Not very Christlike or pastoral; another avoidance strategy).
I don’t know the man but if he’s using priesthood for ‘a comfy life’ he wouldn’t be alone. The arrogance of the hierarchy is staggering, and has compounded the so called scandal, all of their own making.
They don’t know when to stop digging,
The Rc institution is imploding in plain site, meanwhile, talk shops with fancy names are held in Rome with converted youth, while the Rc institution in Ireland is irrelevant to the vast majority of young people in this country. They’ll be few left to’hand on the faith’ to in the not too distant future. Meanwhile we have some members of the clergy watering down the gospel to accommodate their lifestyles.

  35. Christians are supposed to be ‘in the world but not of the world’. Unfortunately and sadly, far too many members of the clerical fraternity are more of the world than the world is of itself.

  36. Congratulations Bp Pat on the wonderful new blog, which will run for days I'm sure, or until +Amy issues a public statement.
